1 Kai teh ka yawthoe. Kompawi tue nah khi e thaibunglung paw hoi rakhun e misur paw kacawie patetlah ka o. Ca hane kawi misur paw awm hoeh. Thaibunglung paw aluepaw hah ka doun toe.
Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grapegleanings of the vintage: [there is] no cluster to eat: my soul desired the firstripe fruit.
2 Cathutlae naw kahmakata awh toe. Tami kalan buet touh hai awm hoeh. Tami pueng teh tami thei hanlah a pawp awh toe. Buet touh hoi buet touh tangkam dawk a ka man awh.
The good [man] is perished out of the earth: and [there is] none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.
3 Yonnae sak hanelah coungkacoe lah ao awh. Bawinaw ni poehno a hei awh. Lawkcengkungnaw ni tadawngnae a ca awh. Ayâ hlak kalen e tami ni teh hounlounnae a kamnue sak. Hottelah, a kâsanu nahanlah a sak awh.
That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge [asketh] for a reward; and the great [man], he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up.
4 Tami kahawipoung hai pâkhingkung patetlah doeh ao. Tami kalan poung hai pâkhing takha hlak a ru. Nang ramvengnaw ni kâhruetcuet poenae hnin, nang rektapnae na poenae hnin lah a pha, hothateh, lungpuennae lah ao han.
The best of them [is] as a brier: the most upright [is sharper] than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen [and] thy visitation cometh; now shall be their perplexity.
5 Na imri yuem hanh. Lam ka patue e hah kâuep hanh. Na lungtabue dawk ka ip e na yu hah yuem hanh. Na kâko takhang hah cakuep lawih.
Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.
6 Bangkongtetpawiteh, ca ni a na pa e min a mathoe sak. Canu ni a manu thoseh, a langa ni a mani thoseh, a taran han. Ma e imthungkhunaw teh mae taran lah ao han.
For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man’s enemies [are] the men of his own house.
7 Hatei, kai teh BAWIPA ka ngaihawi han. Ka rungngangnae Cathut hah ka kângue han. Cathut ni ka lawk a thai han.
Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.
8 Ka taran nang, kaie lathueng vah kâoupnae, lunghawinae tawn hanh. Ka rawm nakunghai bout kathâw han. A hmonae koe ka tahung nakunghai, Cathut teh kaie angnae lah ao han.
Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD [shall be] a light unto me.
9 Kai teh BAWIPA koe ka yon dawkvah, na racing hoehnahlan totouh a lungkhueknae ka khang han. Kai hah angnae koe na rasa vaiteh, lannae hmuen na poe e hah ka hmu han.
I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, [and] I shall behold his righteousness.
10 Na Cathut nâne ao telah na ka pacei e ka taran ni hote hno a hmu torei teh yeirai a po han. Ahni koe ka lung a roum han. Ahni teh lam dawk e tangdong coungroe e patetlah ao han.
Then [she that is] mine enemy shall see [it], and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is the LORD thy God? mine eyes shall behold her: now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets.
11 Nange khopui rapan saknae tueng a pha han. Kâtawnnae apout han.
[In] the day that thy walls are to be built, [in] that day shall the decree be far removed.
12 Hatnae tueng dawk, Assiria ram hoi Izip khopui hai thoseh, Izip ram hoi tuipui rahak hai thoseh, tuipui tengpam, monnaw tangkuem koehoi hai thoseh, nang koevah a tho awh han.
[In] that day [also] he shall come even to thee from Assyria, and [from] the fortified cities, and from the fortress even to the river, and from sea to sea, and [from] mountain to mountain.
13 Hottelah, ao hoehnahlan khoca ramca naw e yonnae kecu dawk ram teh tami kingkadi lah ao han.
Notwithstanding the land shall be desolate because of them that dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings.
14 BAWIPA e tami tie a huiko awm laipalah Karmel mon dawk kaawm e râw tuhu hah tukhoumnae sonron hoi khoum la, ayan e patetlah Bashan ram hoi Gilead ram dawk pawngpa sak haw.
Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine heritage, which dwell solitarily [in] the wood, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed [in] Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.
15 Izip ram hoi na tâconae hnin dawk na hmu e patetlah kângairu hnonaw bout na patue han.
According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt will I shew unto him marvellous [things].
16 Miphunnaw ni ka taminaw dawk kaawm e bahu a hmu awh teh, lungpuen laihoi amamae pahni hah kut hoi a tabuem awh vaiteh a hnâtâdeng awh han.
The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: they shall lay [their] hand upon [their] mouth, their ears shall be deaf.
17 Tahrun patetlah vaiphu a palem teh, tangraet patetlah a khu dawk hoi pâyaw laihoi a tâco awh han. Maimae BAWIPA Cathut hai thoseh, nang hai thoseh a taki awh han.
They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: they shall be afraid of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of thee.
18 Yon dawk hoi hlout sak e, kacawie râw, taminaw e sakpayon e hah ka ngaithoum e, pahrennae hoi ka kawi ni teh lung pou ka khuek hoeh e Cathut patetlah apimaw kaawm.
Who [is] a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth [in] mercy.
19 BAWIPA ni maimanaw hah bout na pahren teh, maimae yonnae pueng hah rep a coungroe han. Maimae yonnae pueng kadung poung e tuipui dawk koung a tâkhawng han.
He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
20 Ayan hoi mintoenaw koe thoe na bo e patetlah, Jakop koe lawkkatanag, Abraham koe pahren lungmanae teh na poe han.
Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, [and] the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.
