< Matthai 7 >

1 Nangmouh teh lawkceng lah na o awh hoeh nahanlah, ayânaw hah lawkceng awh hanh.
Judge not, that ye be not judged.
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3 Na mit dawk e thingtaboung teh na pouk laipalah, hmaunawngha mit dawk e songnawng teh bangkongmaw khuet na hmu vaw.
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam [is] in thine own eye?
5 Ka kâsak e naw: na mit dawk e thingtaboung hah hmaloe takhoe awh ei. Hat boipawiteh nouh na hmaunawngha mit dawk e songnawngca hah kacaicalah na hmawt vaiteh na lat thai ti.
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
6 Kathounge hno hah Uinaw poe awh hanh. Pale hah voknaw hmalah tâkhawng awh hanh. A khok hoi coungroe awh vaiteh, nama koe lah kamlang awh vaiteh na kei awh han.
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
7 Het awh. Poe lah na o awh han. Tawng awh, na hmu awh han. Takhawngh awh, takhang teh nangmouh hanlah paawng lah ao han.
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 Apihai ka hete ni teh a hmu. Ka tawng e ni teh a pâphawng. Ka takhawng e teh paawng pouh lah ao.
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9 Nangmouh thung dawkvah, na ca ni vaiyei a hei nah talung ka poe hane tami na o a maw.
Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10 Hoehpawiteh, tanga a hei nah tahrun ka poe hane tami na o a maw.
Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 Nangmouh ni patenghai canaw hanelah, hno kahawi poe hanelah na panuek awh pawiteh, kalvan kho kaawm e nangmae na Pa ni natawng teh, ka hetnaw hah banghloimaw kahawi e poehnonaw hah a poe han!
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Hethateh, kâlawk pueng hoi profetnaw e lawk doeh.
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
13 Kabueng e longkha dawk kâen awh. Rawknae koe ka phatkhai e longkha hoi lam teh a kaw dawkvah, ka dawn e tami apap.
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Hringnae koe ka phatkhai e longkha hoi lam teh a bueng dawkvah kâen e tami teh a youn ca.
Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
15 Profetkaphawknaw hah kâhruetcuet awh. Nangmouh koe a tho awh navah, tupho a kâkhu awh teh tu patetlah a kâsak awh. Athung teh Asui ka matheng lah ao awh.
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Hotnaw teh amamae a paw lahoi na nout a thai. Pâkhing tangdun dawk hoi misurpaw paw boihoeh. Pâkhingkung dawk hoi thaibunglung paw paw boihoeh.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Hot patetvanlah, thingkung kahawi ni a paw kahawi a paw teh, thingkung kahawihoehe ni a paw kahawihoehe a paw van.
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 Thingkung kahawi ni a paw kathout paw boi hoeh, hahoi, thingkung kathout ni a paw kahawi paw boihoeh.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither [can] a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 A paw kahawi ka paw hoeh e thingkungnaw pueng tâtueng vaiteh hmai dawk phum lah ao han.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Hot patetvanlah profetkaphawknaw teh amamae paw lahoi nout thai e lah ao.
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Cet awh. Hnokahawi ka sak hoeh e naw, telah kamcengcalah ka ti pouh awh han.
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24 Hatdawkvah, apipatet hai ka dei e lawknaw hah a thai teh ka tarawi e tami teh, lungsong dawk im ka sak e tami a lungkaang e hoi a kâvan.
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 Kho a nan, tui a len, kahlî a tho teh hote im hah a hmang. Hat nakunghai rawm hoeh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, lungsong dawk adu a ung dawkvah.
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 Hatei, apipatet hai ka dei e lawknaw hah a thai teh ka tarawi hoeh e teh, sadi dawk im ka sak e tami ka pathu e hoi a kâvan.
And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 Kho a nan, tui a len, kahlî a tho teh hote im a hmang toteh kayawicalah a rawp teh peng kâraphoe teh a rawk.
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
28 Jisuh ni hete lawknaw pueng koung a dei hnukkhu vah, tamimaya teh a cangkhai e dawk a kângairu awh.
And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
29 Bangkongtetpawiteh, cakathutkungnaw patetlah cangkhai laipalah, kâkatawnnaw patetlah a cangkhai.
For he taught them as [one] having authority, and not as the scribes.
