< Matthai 26 >
1 Jisuh ni hete lawknaw koung a dei hnukkhu, a hnukkâbangnaw koevah,
And it came to pass, when Jesus ended all these words, he said unto his disciples:
2 Hnin hni touh a loum hnukkhu teh, ceitakhai pawi hnin ao han toe titeh na panue awh. Hattoteh tami Capa hah thingpalamnae dawk thei sak hanlah, poe e lah kaawm han atipouh.
Ye know that, after two days, the passover, taketh place, —and, the Son of Man, is to be delivered up, to be crucified.
3 Hatnavah, vaihma bawinaw, cakathutkungnaw hoi kho thung e kacuenaw teh vaihma kacue Kaiaphas e toeim vah a kamkhueng awh teh,
Then, were gathered together, the High-priests and the Elders of the people, into the court of the High-priest who was called Caiaphas;
4 Jisuh hah huenghai hoi bangtelah ne man thai vaiteh thei thai awh han tie hah a kâpankhai awh.
and they took counsel together, in order that, Jesus, by guile, they might secure, and slay.
5 Hatei, pawi na hnin vah man awh hanh ei sei. Tami pueng ruengrueng tet a langvaih ati awh.
They were saying, however: Not during the feast, lest, an uproar, arise among the people.
6 Bethani khovah ka hrikbei e Simon im Jisuh ao navah,
But, Jesus, happening to be in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
7 napui buet touh ni hmuitui aphu kaawm poung e talungpangaw bom a sin teh bu a ca lahun nah a lû dawk a awi pouh.
there came unto him a woman, holding an alabaster-jar of costly perfume, and she poured it down upon his head, as he was reclining.
8 A hnukkâbangnaw ni a hmu awh navah, bangkongmaw a kaseikasak ati awh teh a lungkhuek awh.
And the disciples, seeing it, were greatly displeased, saying—To what end, this loss?
9 Hote hmuitui hah aphu moikapap lah yo vaiteh karoedengnaw poe hanelah ao ati awh.
For this could have been sold for much, and given to the destitute.
10 Jisuh ni a panue toteh hote napui hah bangkongmaw na tarawk awh. Ahni ni kai koe hnokahawi a sak toe.
But Jesus, taking note, said unto them—Why vex ye the woman? for, a seemly work, hath she wrought for me;
11 Karoedengnaw teh nangmouh koe doeh pou ao awh. Kai teh nangmouh koe pou kaawm mahoeh.
For, always, the destitute, have ye with you, —but, me, not always, have ye;
12 Hete hmuitui hah ka tak dawk a awi e teh, ka ro pakawp nahanlah a rakuengnae doeh toe.
For, she, pouring this perfume upon my body, so as to prepare me for burial, did it.
13 Atangcalah na dei pouh awh. Talaivan kamthang kahawi deinae hmuen pueng koevah, hete napui pou pouk nahanelah, a hnosak e heh dei lah kaawm van han atipouh.
Verily, I say unto you—Wheresoever this glad-message shall be proclaimed in all the world, also what she did, will be told, as a memorial of her.
14 Hatnavah a hnukkâbang hlaikahni touh thung dawk e Judah Isakarot ni vaihma bawinaw koe a cei teh,
Then, went one of the twelve, the one called Judas Iscariot, unto the High-priests,
and said—What are ye willing to give unto me? and, I, unto you, will deliver him up. And they appointed him thirty pieces of silver.
16 Hahoi teh, Bawipa hah pahnawt thai nahanelah, Judah ni atueng kanhlongnae hah sut a ring.
And, from that time, was he seeking a favourable opportunity that he might, deliver him up.
17 A hnukkâbangnaw ni tonphuenhoehe pawi apasuek hnin vah, ceitakhai pawi ca nahane hmuen hah nâ e koe maw rakueng sak hanlah na ngai atipouh awh.
And, on the first of the days of unleavened bread, the disciples came unto Jesus, saying—Where wilt thou, that we make ready for thee to eat the passover?
18 Bawipa ni, khothung tami buet touh e im vah cet awh nateh, Bawipa ni lawk na thui e teh, a tue a hnai toe, a hnukkâbangnaw hoi cungtalah ceitakhai pawi heh nangmouh im vah ka hno awh han ati tet pouh awh, atipouh.
And, he, said—Go your way into the city, unto such-a-one, and say to him, The teacher, saith, My season, is, near, with thee, will I keep the passover, with my disciples.
19 A hnukkâbangnaw ni a dei pouh e patetlah a sak awh teh, ceitakhai pawi hah atangcoungcalah a rakueng pouh awh.
And the disciples did, as Jesus directed them, and made ready the passover.
20 Tangmin lavah, a hnukkâbangnaw hlaikahni touh hoi bu cungtalah a ven awh.
And, when, evening, came, he was reclining with the twelve [disciples];
and, as they were eating, he said—Verily, I say unto you, One from among you, will deliver me up.
22 Hat torei teh, a hnukkâbangnaw a lung puenghoi a mathoe awh teh, Bawipa kai maw telah lengkaleng a pacei awh.
And, being exceedingly grieved, they began to be saying to him, each one—Can it be, I, Lord?
And, he, answering, said—He who hath dipped with me his hand in the bowl, the same, will deliver me up.
24 Cakathoung dawk thut e patetlah tami Capa teh ka cet han. Hatei, tami Capa ka pahnawt e teh a yawthoe. Ahni teh khe hoeh ngala pawiteh bet ahawihnawn atipouh.
The Son of Man, indeed, goeth his way, according as it is written concerning him, —But alas! for that man, through whom the Son of Man, is being delivered up: Well, had it been for him, if, that man, had not been born!
And Judas, who was delivering him up, answering, said—Can it be, I, Rabbi? He saith unto him—Thou, hast said.
26 A ca awh lahun navah, Jisuh ni vaiyei a la teh, lunghawi lawk a dei hnukkhu, a raen teh, hete vaiyei teh ka tak doeh. Lat awh nateh cat awh, telah a hnukkâbangnaw koe atipouh.
And, as they were eating, Jesus, taking a loaf and blessing, brake, —and, giving to his disciples, said—Take, eat! This, is, my body.
27 Manang hai a la teh lunghawi lawk a dei hnukkhu ahnimanaw hah a poe teh, nangmouh pueng ni net awh.
And, taking a cup, and giving thanks, he gave unto them, saying—Drink of it, all of you;
28 Hete manang teh lawkkam katha doeh. Taminaw hlout nahanlah ka rabawk e ka thi doeh.
For, this, is my blood of the covenant, which, for many, is to be poured out, for remission of sins.
29 Na dei pouh awh. Hete misurtui patet e a katha e misurtui nangmouh hoi cungtalah a Pa e uknaeram dawk bout ka nei hoehroukrak, atu hoi bout ka net mahoeh toe.
Moreover, I say unto you—In nowise, will I drink, henceforth, of this produce of the vine, until that day, whensoever I shall drink it with you, new, in the kingdom of my Father.
30 Hahoi teh la a sak awh teh Olive Mon lah a luen awh.
And, having sung praise, they went forth unto the Mount of Olives.
Then, Jesus saith unto them—All ye, will find cause of stumbling in me, during this night; for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and, the sheep of the flock, will be scattered abroad;
But, after my arising, I will go before you into Galilee.
33 Hetnaw ni nang kecu dawk a lung ka pout awh nakunghai kai teh ka lung khoeroe pout mahoeh, telah Piter ni a ti.
Now Peter, answering, said unto him—Though, all, shall find cause of stumbling in thee, I, shall never find cause of stumbling.
34 Jisuh ni, atangcalah na dei pouh. Sahnin tangmin ahlui a khawng hoehnahlan kai hah vai thum touh na pahnawt han atipouh.
Jesus saith unto him: Verily, I say unto thee—During this night, before a cock crow, Thrice, wilt thou deny me.
Alouke a hnukkâbangnaw ni hai hot patetvanlah a dei awh.
Peter saith unto him: Even though it be needful for me, with thee to die, in nowise, will I deny thee. Likewise, all the disciples also, said.
36 Hatnavah Jisuh ni Gethsemani hmuen koe ahnimouh hoi rei a pha toteh, kai teh hote hmuen koe ratoum hanlah ka cei han, hete hmuen koe la tahung awh lah a, telah a hnukkâbangnaw koe atipouh.
Then Jesus cometh with them, into a place called Gethsemane, —and he saith unto his disciples, Sit ye here, while I go yonder and pray.
37 Piter hoi Zebedee e a capa roi a hrawi. Hatnavah Bawipa teh a lungmathoe, lungpuen hoi ao dawkvah,
And, taking with him, Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be grieved and to be in great distress.
38 Jisuh ni due han totouh ka lungreithai. Hie a hmuen koe awm awh nateh kai hoi cungtalah ring awh, telah a hnukkâbangnaw kathum touh koe a dei pouh.
Then, saith he unto them: Encompassed with grief, is my soul, unto death: Abide ye here, and be watching with me.
39 Hathnukkhu hmalah hrawt bout a cei teh, a tabo laihoi oe a Pa coung thai pawiteh hete manang na takhoe pouh haw. Hatei, kaie ka ngainae patetlah tho laipalah, na ngainae patetlah tho lawiseh telah a ratoum.
And, going forward a little, he fell upon his face, offering prayer, and saying—My Father! If it is possible, let this cup pass from me, —Nevertheless, not as, I, will, but as, thou, wilt.
40 A hnukkâbangnaw aonae koe a pha navah, ahnimouh ni di a i takhai e a hmu navah, nangmouh ni suimilam buet touh kangna hai kai hah na ring thai awh hoeh maw.
And he cometh unto his disciples, and findeth them sleeping, and said unto Peter—Thus, powerless are ye, one hour, to watch with me?
41 Tacueknae koehoi na hlout thai awh nahan ratoum laihoi ring awh. Muitha ni teh a ngai poung ei, takthai ni teh coung thai hoeh telah Piter koe atipouh.
Be watching and praying, that ye may not enter into temptation: The spirit, indeed, is, eager, but, the flesh, weak.
42 Hahoi bout a cei teh Oe a Pa hete manang hah ka net laipalah roun thai hoehpawiteh, na ngainae patetlah phat lawiseh telah bout a ratoum.
Again, a second time, departing he prayed, saying: My Father! If it is impossible for this to pass, except I, drink, it, Accomplished, be, thy will.
43 Hat hnukkhu a hnukkâbangnaw onae koe bout a tho teh, ahnimanaw teh muet bout a i awh e a hmu navah,
And coming, he, again, found them sleeping, for their eyes had become heavy.
44 a ceitakhai teh ahmaloe a ratoum e patetlah apâthum lah bout a ratoum.
And, leaving them, he, again, departed, and prayed a third time, the same word, saying again.
45 A hnukkâbangnaw onae koe bout a tho teh, atuteh duem ip awh lawih. Tami Capa teh tamikayonnaw e kut dawk pahnawt nahane tueng teh a pha toe.
Then, cometh he unto the disciples, and saith unto them, —Ye are sleeping what time remaineth, and taking your rest: Lo! the hour hath drawn near, and, the Son of Man, is being delivered up into the hands of sinners.
46 Thaw awh, cet a lei sei. Kai na kapahnawtkung teh a tho toe atipouh.
Arise! let us be going, —Lo! he that delivereth me up, hath drawn near.
47 Hottelah a dei lahun navah a hnukkâbang hlaikahni touh dawk ka bawk van e Judah Isakarot teh a tho.
And, while, yet, he was speaking, lo! Judas, one of the twelve, came, and, with him, a large multitude, with swords and clubs, from the High-priests and Elders of the people.
48 Bawipa kapahnawtkung niyah, kai ni ka paco e teh Jisuh doeh, ahni hah man awh telah hote taminaw koe noutnae a poe e patetlah,
And, he who was delivering him up, gave them a sign, saying—Whomsoever I shall kiss, he, it is, —secure him.
49 Bawipa koe rek a hnai teh, kacangkhaikung yawhawinae awmseh ati teh a paco.
And, straightway, coming unto Jesus, he said—Joy to thee! Rabbi, and eagerly kissed him.
50 Jisuh ni ka hui bang panki e dawk maw na tho atipouh navah, hote taminaw a tho awh teh Jisuh hah a man awh.
But, Jesus, said unto him—Friend! wherefore art thou here? Then, coming forward, they thrust their hands upon Jesus, and secured him.
51 Hatnavah Jisuh hnukkâbang e buet touh ni a kut a dâw teh tahloi a rasa hnukkhu, vaihma kacue e a san buet touh hah a bouk navah a hnâ thouk a pet.
And lo! one of those with Jesus, stretching forth his hand, grasped his sword, and smiting the servant of the High-priest, cut off his ear.
Tahloi ka patuem e tami pueng teh tahloi hoi a due awh han.
Then, Jesus saith unto him—Put back thy sword into its place, for, all they who take a sword, by a sword, shall perish.
53 Atu roeroe vah a Pa koe kahei thai tie hai thoseh, kâhet pawiteh kalvan ransahuipui aphu hlaikahni touh hlak kapap lah Kai koe a patoun han tie hah nang ni na pouk hoeh maw.
Or thinkest thou that I cannot call upon my Father, and he will set near me, even now, more than twelve legions of messengers?
54 Hat pawiteh, Cakathoung dawk a thut e patetlah, hettelah o han tie hnonaw hah bangtelavai a kuep thai telah a ti.
How then should the Scriptures be fulfilled, that, thus, it must needs come to pass?
55 Hatnavah Jisuh ni Dingca man e patetlah kai man hanlah rama, bongpainaw na sin awh teh na tho a bo vaw.
In that hour, said Jesus unto the multitudes: As against a robber, came ye forth, with swords and clubs, to arrest me? Daily in the temple, used I to sit teaching, and ye secured me not;
56 Hot hateh, Cakathoung akuep nahane doeh telah tami kamkhuengnaw hah a dei pouh. Hattoteh a hnukkâbangnaw pueng ni Bawipa hah parang a yawng takhai awh.
But, this, hath, wholly, come to pass, that, the Scriptures of the prophets, may be fulfilled. Then, the disciples, all forsaking him, fled.
57 Jisuh ka man e naw ni Bawipa hah, cakathutkungnaw hoi kacuenaw a kamkhuengnae vaihma kacue Kaiaphas koe a ceikhai awh.
And, they who secured Jesus, led him away unto Caiaphas the High-priest, where the Scribes and the Elders gathered themselves together.
58 Piter hai vaihma kacue e toeim totouh, Bawipa hoi kahlat lah a kâbang. A hnukteng bangtelamaw ati awh tie a panue nahanlah athung a kâen teh ka ring e naw hoi reirei a tahung.
Now, Peter, was following him afar off, unto the court of the High-priest, —and, entering within, was sitting with the attendants, to see the end.
59 Vaihma bawinaw hoi kacuenaw, sanhedrin lawkcengkungnaw pueng ni Jisuh thei thai nahanlah laithoe kampangkhainae a tawng awh ei hmawt awh hoeh.
Now, the High-priests and all the High-council, were seeking false-witness against Jesus, that they might, put him to death;
60 Laithoe kampangkhai hanelah moi a tho awh ei, Bangpatete kapanuekkhaikung hai tawn awh hoeh. A hnukteng vah laithoe kampangkhaikung kahni touh a tho roi teh,

62 Vaihma kacue ni a kangdue teh, kam touh boehai bout na dei mahoeh maw. Hetnaw ni bangtelamaw kapanuekkhaikung lah a kangdue awh, atipouh navah Jisuh teh lawkkamuem lah ao.
And the High-priest, arising, said unto him—Nothing, answerest thou? What are these, against thee bearing witness?
63 Vaihma kacue ni nang teh Cathut e Capa, Khrih hoi Khrih hoeh e hah kaimouh koe na dei nahanlah kahring Cathut noe lahoi kâ na poe atipouh.
But, Jesus, was silent. And, the High-priest, said unto him: I put thee on oath, by the Living God, that, to us, thou say—Whether, thou, art the Christ, the Son of God.
Jesus saith unto him: Thou, hast said; Moreover, I say unto you—Hereafter, ye will see the Son of Man, sitting on the right hand of power, and coming upon the clouds of heaven.
65 Hatnavah vaihma kacue ni amae angki a phi teh hete tami ni Cathut ka tapuet lah a dei toe. Bangpatet e kapanuekkhaikung maw bout a ngai rah.
Then, the High-priest rent asunder his garments, saying—He hath spoken profanely! What further need have we, of witnesses? Lo! now, ye have heard the profanity!
66 Bangtelamaw na pouk awh, atipouh navah, hotnaw ni ahni teh due han a kamcu telah bout a dei awh.
How, to you, doth it seem? And, they, answering, said: Guilty of death, he is.
67 Hattoteh a minhmai hah tamtui hoi a tamthawi awh.
Then, spat they into his face, and buffeted him; and, others, struck him smartly,
68 Kut hoi a thaw awh, tangawn ni a tambei awh, oe Khrih nang hah apinimaw na tambei tie hah profet lahoi dei leih, atipouh awh.
saying—Prophesy unto us, O Christ! Who is he that struck thee?
69 Piter ni toeim alawilah longkha koe a tahung navah sannu buet touh ni a tho teh nang haiyah Galilee tami Jisuh hoi cungtalah e doeh atipouh navah,
Now, Peter, was sitting without, in the court; and there came unto him a certain female servant, saying—Thou also, wast with Jesus, the Galilaean.
But, he, denied before all, saying—I know not what thou sayest.
71 Hathnukkhu Piter ni im longkha alawilah a tâco navah alouke napui buet touh ni bout a hmu teh haw kaawm e naw koe, het haiyah Nazareth tami Jisuh hoi cungtalah e doeh atipouh.
And, when he went out into the porch, another female saw him, and said unto them who were there—This, one was with Jesus the Nazarene.
72 Piter ni ahni hah ka panuek hoeh telah thoe a ka bo teh bout a oun.
And, again, he denied, with an oath—I know not the man.
And, after a little, the by-standers, coming forward, said unto Peter: Truly, thou also, art, from among them, for, thy very speech, maketh thee, manifest.
74 Piter ni ahni hah ka panuek hoeh ati teh thoe a kâbo. Hat nah tahma vah ahlui a khawng.
Then, began he to be cursing and swearing—I know not the man! And, straightway, a cock crowed.
75 Jisuh ni Ahlui a khawng hoehnahlan, vai thum touh kai hah na pahnawt han ati e lawk hah Piter ni hlawt a pouk navah alawilah a tâco teh khawngsauek laihoi a ka.
And Peter was put in mind of the declaration of Jesus, of his having said—Before a cock crow, thrice, wilt thou utterly deny me; and, going forth outside, he wept bitterly.
