< Matthai 12 >

1 Hatnae tueng nah, Jisuh teh Sabbath hnin vah, catun lawnaw dawk a cei navah, a hnukkâbangnaw teh a vonhlam awh dawkvah, catun vuinaw hah a pahroe awh teh a bap awh.
In that season, went Jesus, on, the sabbath, through the cornfields, —and, his disciples, hungered, and began to pluck ears of corn, and to eat.
2 Farasinaw ni a hmu toteh, sabbath hnin sak hoeh hane kawi hah na hnukkâbangnaw ni a sak awh, telah atipouh awh.
But, the Pharisees, observing it, said unto him, Lo! thy disciples, are doing what is not allowed to do, on sabbath.
3 Jisuh ni, Devit teh a huinaw hoi a vonhlam awh navah,
And he said unto them, have ye never read what, David, did, when he hungered, and they who were with him? how
4 Cathut e im dawk a kâen teh, a ma ni a cakawi hoeh e, a huinaw ni hai a cakawi hoeh e, vaihmanaw ni dueng a cakawi e vaiyei a ca e hah na touk a boihoeh maw.
he entered into the house of God and, the presence-bread, did eat, which it was not, allowable, for him to eat, nor for them who were with him, —save for the priests, alone?
5 Vaihmanaw nihaiyah, bawkim dawk sabbath hnin a hnan awh ei, tounhoehe lah ao tie hah kâlawknaw dawk na touk a boihoeh maw.
Or have ye not read, in the law, that, on the sabbaths, the priests, in the temple, the sabbath, profane, and are, blameless?
6 Kai ni ka dei e teh, hie hmuen koe bawkim hlak hoe kalen e ao.
But I say unto you, —Something greater than the Temple, is here!
7 Thuengnae hlak pahrennae hah ka ngai tie Cakathoung dawk kaawm e na thai panuek awh pawiteh, yon ka tawn hoeh e naw hah yonpen awh mahoeh ei.
If, however, ye had known what this meaneth—Mercy, I desire, and not, sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the blameless;
8 Tami Capa teh sabbath hnin kaukkung lah ao, atipouh.
For, the Son of Man, is, Lord of the Sabbath.
9 Hote hmuen koehoi a cei teh sinakok thung a kâen. A kutvang ka khem e tami buet touh ao.
And, passing on from thence, he came into their synagogue;
10 Tami tangawn ni Jisuh a yon tawngnae lah, sabbath hnin vah patawnae roum sak kawi maw, titeh a pacei awh.
and lo! a man having, a withered hand, and they questioned him, saying, Is it allowable, on the sabbath, to heal? that they might accuse him.
11 Jisuh ni, tu buet touh na tawn e ca hah sabbath hnin vah, tangkom thung bawt pawiteh rasat laipalah kaawm hane tami buet touh banghai nangmouh thung dawk na o awh maw.
And said unto them, What man, from among yourselves, [shall there be], —Who shall have one sheep, and, if this should fall, on the sabbath, into a pit, will not lay hold of it, and raise it?
12 Tami teh tu hlak aphu ao nahoehmaw. Hatdawkvah, sabbath hnin hnokahawi sak kawi lah ao, atipouh.
How much better, then, a man, than, a sheep? So that it is allowable, on the sabbath, nobly, to act.
13 Hote a kutvang kadout e koevah, na kut hah dâw haw, atipouh navah ahni ni a kut a dâw teh, avanglae kut patetlah ao.
Then saith he unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand! And he stretched it forth, —and it was restored, whole, as the other.
14 Hattoteh Farasinaw a tâco awh teh, Jisuh bangtelah hoi maw thei han telah a kapan awh.
And the Pharisees, going forth, took, counsel, against him, to the end that, him, they might destroy.
15 Jisuh ni a panue dawkvah, hote hmuen koehoi alouklah a cei teh, moikapap e taminaw ni a kâbang awh teh, ahnimae patawpanatnae kaawm e pueng hah a dam sak pouh.
But, Jesus, taking note, retired from thence, —and many followed him, and he cured them all;
16 Ahnimouh ni pung a pathang awh hoeh nahan kâhruetcuetnae a poe.
and straitly charged them, lest they should make him, manifest:
17 Hot teh, profet Isaiah e lawk a kuep nahane doeh.
that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: —
Lo! my servant, whom I have chosen, My beloved, in whom, my soul, delighteth, —I will put my Spirit upon him, and, justice, unto the nations, will he report:
19 Oun hoeh, hram hoeh. Hatdawkvah ahnie lawk apinihai lam dawk thai mahoeh.
He will not strive, nor will he cry out, nor shall any hear, in the broadways, his voice:
20 Coungroe e lungpumkung khoe hoeh, hmaikhu kapap e hmaipalai dout hoeh, A lawk teh tânae koe a pha nahanlah a sak han.
A bruised cane, will he not break, and, a smoking wick, will he not quench, —until he urge on, justice, to victory,
21 A min haiyah Jentelnaw ni a kâuep awh han, telah a pâpho.
And, in his name, shall nations hope.
22 Hatnavah, kahrai ni a man teh, mit ka dawn, lawk ka a e tami buet touh a ma koe a thokhai awh. A mit bout a ang teh, lawk bout a dei thai nahanlah Jisuh ni ahawi sak.
Then they brought unto him, one demonized, blind and dumb, —and he cured him, so that the dumb did speak and see.
23 Hawvah ka kamkhuengnaw pueng ni a kângairu awh teh, ahni heh Devit e capa han na maw telah ati awh.
And all the multitudes were beside themselves, and were saying, Can, this one, be, the Son of David?
24 Farasinaw ni a thai awh navah, ahni teh kahraituilinaw e bawi Beelzebub a kâuep laihoi doeh kahraituilinaw hah a pâlei thai, ati awh.
But, the Pharisees, hearing it, said, This one, doth not cast out the demons, save in Beelzebul ruler of the demons.
25 Jisuh ni hotnaw e pouknae a panue pouh dawkvah, bangpatet e uknaeram haiyah amamouh hoi mamouh kâpo awh hoehpawiteh, rawknae koe a pha awh han. Bangpatet e khoram hoi imthung haiyah amamouh hoi mamouh kâpo awh hoehpawiteh kangdout thai mahoeh.
And, knowing their inward thoughts, he said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself, is laid waste, —and, no city or house divided against itself, will stand;
26 Setan ni Setan hah pâlei pawiteh, amamouh hoi mamouh kâkapek vaiteh a uknaeram bangtelamaw a kangdue thai han vaw.
And, if, Satan, is casting, Satan, out, against himself, hath he become divided, —How then shall, his kingdom, stand?
27 Kai ni Beelzebub kâuep laihoi kahraituilinaw ka pâlei pawiteh, nangmae canaw niteh, apimaw a kâuepkhai vaiteh a pâlei awh han. Hatdawkvah ahnimouh teh nangmouh lawkcengkung lah ao awh han.
And, if, I, in Beelzebul, am casting out the demons, In whom are, your sons, casting them out? Wherefore, they, shall be, judges of you.
28 Kai ni Cathut e Muitha hah kâuep laihoi kahraituilinaw ka pâlei pawiteh, atangcalah nangmouh koe Cathut uknaeram kangdue nahane tueng teh a pha toe.
But, if, in God’s Spirit, I, am casting out the demons, then doubtless hath come upon you unawares, the kingdom of God!
29 A thakaawmpounge tami, a ma hah hmaloe katek hoehpawiteh, apinimaw ahni imthung a cei vaiteh hnopainaw hah a lawp thai han. A ma hah hmaloe katek pawiteh doeh a hnopainaw hah lawp thai lah awm tih.
Or how can one enter the house of the mighty and, seize his goods, unless, first, he bind the mighty one? and, then, his house, he will plunder.
30 Kai koe lah kambawng hoeh e teh ka taran doeh. Kai hoi cungtalah kaawm hoeh e teh kampek e lah ao.
He that is no with me, is, against me, —and, he that gathereth not with me, scattereth
31 Hatdawkvah, ka dei e teh, yonnae puenghoi Cathut dudamnae yon pueng hai taminaw ni ngaithoumnae a hmu thai awh. Hatei, Kathoung Muitha dudamnae yon teh taminaw ni ngaithoumnae hmawt thai awh hoeh.
Wherefore, I say unto you, All sin and profane speaking, shall be forgiven unto men, —but, the speaking profanely of the Spirit, shall not be forgiven;
32 Tami Capa hah a pahni hoi ka yon e yon ngaithoum thai. Kathoung Muitha hah a pahni hoi ka yon e yon teh atu a hring na hai, due hnukkhu hring nah hai ngaithoum thai mahoeh. (aiōn g165)
And, whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him, —but, whosoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age, or the coming. (aiōn g165)
33 A paw dawk hoi akung e coungnae a kamnue dawkvah, a paw hawi pawiteh akung hai ahawi. A paw hawihoeh pawiteh a kung hai hawi hoeh.
Either make the tree good, and its fruit good, or make the tree worthless, and its fruit worthless; for, from the fruit, the tree is known.
34 Hrunthoe catounnaw, laplap na thoe awh nahlangva kahawi e lawk hah bangtelamaw na dei thai awh han. Lungthung kakawi e patetlah doeh pahni ni hai a dei.
Broods of vipers! How can ye speak, good things, being, evil? For, out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh.
35 Tami kahawi ni teh a lungthung e kahawi e hno hah a rasa.
The good man, out of the good treasure, putteth forth, good things; and, the evil man, out of the evil treasure, putteth forth, evil things.
36 Ka dei e teh, taminaw ni aphu kaawm hoeh e lawk na dei e pueng hah, lawkcengnae hnin dawkvah nama ni na deicai han. Na lawknaw lahoi yah, yon hlout lah na o han.
But I say unto you, That, every useless expression that men shall utter, they shall render, concerning it, an account, in a day of judgment;
37 Hoehpawiteh, na lawk dei e naw lahoi yah. yon lawkceng lah na o han, atipouh.
For, by thy words, shalt thou be, justified, and, by thy words, shalt thou be condemned.
38 Hat torei teh, cakathutkungnaw hoi Farasinaw niyah, Bawipa kaimouh ni mitnoutnae buetbuet touh hmu han ka ngai, atipouh awh.
Then, answered him, certain of the Scribes and Pharisees, saying, Teacher! we desire of thee, a sign, to behold.
39 Jisuh ni, tami kahawihoehnaw e catounnaw ni mitnoutnae na hei awh nah, profet Jonah laipateh alouke bang buet touh boehai kamnuek sak mahoeh.
But, he, answering, said unto them, A wicked and adulterous generation, a sign, doth seek, and, a sign, will not be, given, it, save the sign of Jonah the prophet.
40 Jonah teh tanga von dawk hnin thum touh ao patetlah tami Capa teh talai thungvah hnin thum touh ao van han.
For, just as was Jonah in the belly of the sea-monster three days and three nights, so, will be the Son of Man, in the heart of the earth, three days and three nights.
41 Lawkcengnae hnin navah, Nineveh kho e taminaw teh hete miphunnaw e a vang lah thaw awh vaiteh ahnimanaw a sung sak awh han. Bangkongtetpawiteh, ahnimouh teh Jawnah ni a pâpho e lawk kecu dawk pan a kângai awh. Hie hmuen koe Jawnah hlak hoe kalen e teh ao.
Men of Nineveh, will rise up in the judgment, with this generation, and will condemn it, —because they repented into the proclamation of Jonah; and lo! something greater than Jonah, here.
42 Lawkcengnae hnin navah, akalah e siangpahrangnu teh hete miphunnaw e avanglah thaw vaiteh ahnimanaw hah a sung sak han. Bangkongtetpawiteh, hote siangpahrangnu teh Solomon siangpahrang e lungangnae lawk hah thai hanelah talai poutnae koehoi a tho toe. Khenhaw! hie hmuen koevah Solomon hlak ka talue e teh ao.
The queen of the south, will arise in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it—because she came out of the ends of the earth, to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and lo! something greater than Solomon, here.
43 Kakhine muitha teh tami thung hoi a tâco teh duem ao nahane hmuen hah yuengyoe a tawng.
But, when the impure spirit goeth out of the man, it passeth through waterless places, seeking rest, —and findeth it not.
44 A hmu hoeh toteh ka tâconae, ouk ka onae im koe lah bout ka ban han ati teh bout a tho navah hote im teh sut ka houng e lah ao tie a hmu.
Then, it saith, Into my house, will I return whence I came out, —and, coming, findeth it empty [and] swept and adorned.
45 Hahoi, ama hlak hoe kathoute alouke sari touh a kaw teh, hote tami thungvah bout a kâen awh teh ao awh. Hote tami teh ahmaloe e hlak a mathoe. Kathout e hete miphunnaw koevah hot patetlah ao van han telah a dei pouh.
Then, it goeth, and taketh along with itself, seven diverse spirits, more wicked than itself, —and, entering, abideth there; and, the last state of that man, becometh, worse than the first. So, shall it be, with this, wicked, generation.
46 Hottelah taminaw koevah a pâpho lahun nah a manu hoi a nawnghanaw ni pato han a ngai awh dawkvah alawilah sut a kangdue awh.
While yet he was speaking unto the multitudes, lo! his mother and brethren, were standing without, seeking to speak with him.
47 Tami buet touh ni na manu hoi na nawnghanaw ni na pato hane a ngai awh dawkvah alawilah sut a kangdue telah a dei pouh.
[And one said to him, Lo! thy mother and thy brethren, without, are standing, seeking, to speak, with thee.]
48 Ka manu ka nawnghanaw teh api nama telah a pacei.
But, he, answering, said unto him that was telling him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
49 A hnukkâbangnaw koe lah a kut a dâw teh, hetnaw teh ka manu, ka nawnghanaw doeh.
And, stretching forth his hand towards his disciples, he said, Lo! my mother and my brethren!
50 Kalvan kho kaawm, a Pa e ngainae ka sak e pueng teh ka nawngha, ka tawncanu, ka manu lah doeh ao, telah atipouh.
For, whosoever shall do the will of my Father who is in the heavens, he, is my, brother, and sister, and mother.
