< Matthai 10 >
1 A hnukkâbang hlaikahni touh hah a kaw teh, kakhine muithanaw pâlei thainae, patawnae aphunphun dam sak thainae kâ a poe.
And calling His twelve disciples to Him, Jesus gave them authority over unclean spirits, so that they could drive them out and heal every disease and sickness.
2 Guncei hlaikahni touh e a minnaw teh, apasuek vah Piter telah kaw e Simon hoi a nawngha Andru,
These are the names of the twelve apostles: first Simon, called Peter, and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John;
3 Zebedee e capa Jem hoi a nawngha Jawhan, Filip hoi Bartholomew, Thomas hoi tamuk ka cawng e Matthai,
Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;
4 Alfe capa Jem hoi Thaddaeus telah min katha hoi kaw e Lebbeus, Kanaan tami Simon hoi Judah Iskariot, ahni teh Jisuh ka pahnawt e doeh.
Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus.
5 Jisuh ni hete hlaikahni touh hah a patoun teh, kâ a poe. Nangmouh teh Jentelnaw onae koe cet awh hanh. Samaria kho thung kâen awh hanh.
These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Do not go onto the road of the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans.
6 Isarel miphun kahmat e tunaw onae koe hmaloe cet awh.
Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel.
7 Na cei awh nah kalvan uknaeram teh a hnai toe telah pâpho awh.
As you go, preach this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven is near.’
8 Kapatawnaw hah damnae poe awh. Kadoutnaw hah thaw sak awh. Ka hrikbei naw hah thoungsak awh. Kahraituilinaw hah pâlei awh. Nangmouh teh aphu laipalah na coe awh dawkvah, aphu dâw laipalah poe awh.
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.
9 Sui, ngun, rahum tangkanaw hah tangkabom thung kâken awh hanh.
Do not carry any gold or silver or copper in your belts.
10 Kahlong na cei nah lam hanelah, yawngya, angki kahni touh, khokkhawm, sonronnaw hah kampu awh hanh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, ka tawk e teh paca hanlah a kamcu raw doeh.
Take no bag for the road, or second tunic, or sandals, or staff; for the worker is worthy of his provisions.
11 Bangpatet e khopui khotenaw dawk na kâen awh navah, api hoi maw a kamcu tie hah pacei a nateh, hote kho dawk hoi na tâco awh hoehroukrak ahnie im dawkvah awm awh.
Whatever town or village you enter, find out who is worthy there and stay at his house until you move on.
12 Imthung na kâen awh nah, yawhawinae awm naseh telah pato awh.
As you enter the home, greet its occupants.
13 Hote imthung ni kamcu pawiteh nangmouh ni na dei awh e yawhawi lungmawngnae teh ahnimouh koe phat lawiseh. Kamcu hoehpawiteh nangmouh koe bout ban lawiseh.
If the home is worthy, let your peace rest on it; but if it is not, let your peace return to you.
14 Apipatet haiyah, nangmouh na luen sak awh hoeh, nangmae lawk hai ngâi awh hoehpawiteh, ahnie im thung hoi na tâco awh navah, hoehpawiteh, hote kho thung hoi na tâco nah, na khoktabei dawk e vaiphu hah takhawng sin awh.
And if anyone will not welcome you or heed your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town.
15 Atangcalah na dei pouh awh. Lawkcengnae hnin dawkvah hote kho hateh, Sodom hoi Gomorrah kho hlak hoe a khang awh han.
Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.
16 Asui um vah tunaw tha e patetlah kai ni nangmouh na patoun awh. Hatdawkvah, tahrun patetlah lungang a nateh, Bakhu patetlah asue laipalah awm awh.
Behold, I am sending you out like sheep among wolves; therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.
17 Taminaw hah kâhruetcuet awh. Lawkcengnae hmuen koevah na thak awh han. Sinakoknaw dawk na hem awh han.
But beware of men; for they will hand you over to their councils and flog you in their synagogues.
18 Khobawinaw hoi siangpahrangnaw koevah Kai kecu dawk na thak awh han. Ahnimanaw hoi Jentelnaw koe lawkpanuesaknae lah ao nahan lah.
On My account, you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles.
19 Hottelah na thak awh toteh bangtelamaw ka dei han tie hah kângai awh hanh. Dei hane lawk hah atueng a pha toteh na coe awh han.
But when they hand you over, do not worry about how to respond or what to say. In that hour you will be given what to say.
20 Na mahmawk na dei awh e na hoeh. Nangmae na Pa e Muitha ni nangmouh lahoi yah a dei e doeh.
For it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
21 Hattoteh hmaunawngha reira due sak hanlah a kâthak awh han. A na pa ni capa hah a thak han, canunaw ni hai manu na pa hah taran vaiteh a due sak awh han.
Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rise against their parents and have them put to death.
22 Taminaw ni haiyah, Ka min kecu dawk na hmawt ngai a mahoeh. Apipatet haiyah a pout ditouh ka cak e teh rungngang lah ao han.
You will be hated by everyone because of My name, but the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.
23 Kho buet touh dawk na rektap awh pawiteh, kho buet touh dawk yawng awh. Atangcalah na dei pouh awh. Isarel kho pueng, koung na katin awh hoehnahlan tami Capa teh a tho han.
When they persecute you in one town, flee to the next. Truly I tell you, you will not reach all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.
24 A hnukkâbang e ni kacangkhaikung tapuet hoeh. A san ni a bawipa tapuet hoeh.
A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.
25 A hnukkâbang e teh kacangkhaikung patetlah san teh a bawipa patetlah awm pawiteh a khout. Imkung hah Beelzebub telah kaw awh pawiteh a imthungnaw natawng teh hoe a kaw awh han nahoehmaw.
It is enough for a disciple to be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household!
26 Hatdawkvah, ahnimanaw hah taket awh hanh. Ramuk e pueng peng kamnuek han. Arulah kaawm e pueng hai ka kamphawng han.
So do not be afraid of them. For there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, and nothing hidden that will not be made known.
27 Kai ni a hmonae koe na dei pouh e naw hah nangmouh ni a angnae koe dei awh. Na hnâ koe duem ka dei teh na thai awh e naw hah lemphu hoi hramkhai awh, atipouh.
What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the housetops.
28 Tak ka thet thai niteh, muitha ka thet thai hoeh e hah taket awh hanh. Tak hoi muitha hah hell dawk mek ka thet thai e hah hoe taket awh. (Geenna )
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Instead, fear the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Geenna )
29 Pusu kahni touh hah rahum tangka phek touh hoi ran nahoehmaw. Nangmae na Pa koehoi laipalah hote pusu buet touh boehai talai bawt mahoeh.
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father.
30 Na sam patenghai koung touk e lah ao.
And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 Hatdawkvah taket awh hanh. Pusunaw hlak nangmouh teh aphu na o awh.
So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
32 Apipatet haiyah, tami hmalah Kai na kampangkhai e teh kalvan kho kaawm e a Pa hmalah ahni hah ka kampangkhai van han.
Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father in heaven.
33 Apipatet haiyah taminaw hmalah Kai hah na ka pahnawt e teh, kalvan kho kaawm e a Pa hmalah ahni teh ka pahnawt van han.
But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father in heaven.
34 Talai van vah roumnae tho sak hanelah a tho telah pouk awh hanh. Roumnae tho sak hanelah ka tho hoeh. Tahloi patoun hanelah doeh ka tho.
Do not assume that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.
35 Na pa hoi capa, manu hoi canu, mani hoi langa, kâkapek sak hanelah doeh ka tho.
For I have come to turn ‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
36 Imthungnaw haiyah taran lah ao awh han.
A man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’
37 Apipatet haiyah, Kai hlak a manu, a na pa lungpataw pawiteh, kai hoi ka kamcu hoeh. Apipatet haiyah, canu capa hah Kai hlak lungpataw pawiteh kai hoi ka kamcu hoeh.
Anyone who loves his father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me;
38 Apipatet haiyah amae thingpalam hrawm hoi ka hnukkâbang hoehpawiteh kai hoi kamcu hoeh.
and anyone who does not take up his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me.
39 A hringnae ka vum e teh hringnae a sung han. Kai kecu dawk a hringnae ka sung e teh, hringnae a coe han.
Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.
40 Nangmouh na ka dâw e teh Kai hai na dâw toe. Kai na ka dâw e teh kai na kapatounkung hai a dâw toe.
He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives the One who sent Me.
41 Profet e minhmai khet lahoi ka dâw e teh, profet e tawkphu hah a coe han. Tami kalan e minhmai khet lahoi ka dâw e teh, tamikalan e tawkphu hah a coe han.
Whoever receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man will receive a righteous man’s reward.
42 Apipatet haiyah, a hnukkâbangnaw e minhmai khet laihoi hete kathoengcae tami buetbuet touh hah tui pâding manang buet touh banghai ka pânei e tami teh, atangcalah na dei pouh awh, tawkphu coe laipalah awm roeroe mahoeh, telah lawk a thui.
And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is My disciple, truly I tell you, he will never lose his reward.”
