Mark 4
1 Jisuh ni tuipui kongteng vah bout a cangkhai nah, tamihupui teh king a kamkhueng awh dawkvah, Jisuh teh long dawk a luen teh a tahung. Tamihupui teh a oung lah ao awh.
And again He began to teach by the sea: and a great multitude is gathered unto Him, so that He having gone into a ship, sat on the sea; and the whole multitude was at the sea on the land.
2 Hatnavah bangnuenae lahoi moi a cangkhai e teh,
And He was teaching them many things in parables, and in His teaching He said to them,
3 Thai awh haw, cati kaheikung ni cati kahei hanlah a kamthaw.
Hear: Behold, a sower went out to sow:
4 Cati a kahei navah, a tangawn teh lam dawkvah a bo dawkvah tavanaw ni koung a pâtu.
and it came to pass while he was sowing, some fell by the wayside, and the fowls came and devoured it.
5 A tangawn teh talai a rapamnae koe lungcarawk um a bo dawkvah tang a paw eiteh,
And other fell upon stones, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:
6 A khongyang a payang hoeh dawkvah, kanî a tâco, khumbei a thoe toteh, a kamyai teh a ke.
and when the sun arose, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
7 A tangawn teh pâkhing um a bo dawkvah, pâkhing ni a lawnglei teh a paw paw thai hoeh.
And other fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up, and choked it, and it gave no fruit.
8 A tangawn teh talai kahawi dawk a bo dawkvah, a paw teh, a roung dawkvah, alet 30, 60,100 totouh a pung.
And other fell in good ground, and springing up and growing, gave fruit, and produced, one thirty, and one sixty, and one a hundred.
9 Thainae hnâ ka tawn pueng ni thai naseh, telah a ti.
And He said, Let the one having ears to hear, hear.
10 Jisuh ama dueng ao navah, a hnukkâbangnaw hlaikahni touh hoi alouke taminaw ni bangnuenae deingainae hah a pacei awh.
And when they were alone, and those around Him along with the twelve asked Him the parable.
11 Jisuh ni nangmouh teh Cathut uknaeram hrolawk hah panuethainae na poe awh. Alawilae taminaw hane teh bangpueng hai bangnuenae lahoi a pâpho pouh.
And He said to them, To you it has been given the mystery of the kingdom of God: but to them who are without, all things are in parables:
12 A lungkâthung awh teh yon ngaithoum lah ao awh hoeh nahanlah a hmu a ei nout awh hoeh, a thai a ei panuek awh hoeh.
in order that seeing they may see, and not know; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest they may turn, and their sins may he forgiven unto them.
13 Nangmouh ni hete bangnuenae patenghai na thai panuek awh hoehpawiteh, bangtelamaw bangnuenae pueng na thai panuek awh han.
And He says to them, Do you not understand this parable? and how will you know all parables?
14 Cati ka hei e tami ni Cathut lawk hah a kahei.
The sower sows the word.
15 Cathut lawk lam dawk kabawt e tinae teh, a lawk a thai ei, Setan ni a tho teh a lungthung kahei pouh e Cathut lawk hah, tang a lawp ti a dei ngainae doeh.
And those who are by the way-side, where the word is sown; and when they hear it, immediately Satan comes, and takes away the word which was sown in their hearts.
16 Lungcarawk um kahei ti deingainae teh a lawk a thai navah, lunghawinae lahoi tang a dâw ei,
And those who are sowed upon the rocks are likewise, those who, when they may hear the word, immediately with joy receive it.
17 A lungthung a khongyang a payang hoeh dawkvah, Cathut lawk kecu dawk runae hoi rektapnae a kâhmo toteh a lung tang apout awh, tingainae doeh.
And they have no root in themselves, but are temporary; then tribulation or persecution arising on account of the word, they are immediately offended:
18 Pâkhing um cati kahei tie a deingainae teh Cathut lawk a thai eiteh,
and others are those who are sown among the thorns; they are those hearing the word,
19 talaivan hno dawk lungpuennae, hnopai ni dumyennae hoi, alouke hnonaw noenae lungthin ni a ramuk dawkvah a paw paw thai awh hoeh tingainae doeh. (aiōn g165)
and the cares of the age, and the deceitfulness of riches, and desires concerning other things coming into them, choke out the word, and it becomes unfruitful. (aiōn g165)
20 Talai kahawi dawk cati kahei ti deingainae teh Cathut lawk a thai teh a dâw dawkvah, alet 30, 60, 100 totouh apung teh a paw a paw thai ti ngainae doeh.
And these are they who are sown on good ground; whosoever hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirty, some sixty, and some a hundred.
21 Hat hoiyah, hmaiim hah apinimaw tangthung hoi a ramuk boimaw. Ikhun rahim ouk a ta boimaw. Hmaiimkhok dawk hoi ouk paang nahoehmaw.
And He said to them; Whether does the light come, that it may be placed under a bushel, or under a bed? is it not that it may be placed on a candlestick?
22 A hmonae koe kaawm e pueng koung a kamnue han, ramuk lah kaawm e naw pueng koung kamawng han.
For there is nothing hidden which may not be made manifest; neither is there any thing concealed, but that it may come into the light.
23 Thainae hnâ katawnnaw ni thai naseh.
If any one has ears to hear, let him hear.
24 Hathnukkhu hoi Jisuh ni na thai e lawknaw kahawicalah kâhruetcuet awh. Ayâ na poe e patetlah nama ni bout na hmu awh han.
And He said to them. See what you hear: with what measure you measure it shall be measured unto you: and it shall be added unto you who hear.
25 Ka tawn e tami teh bout poe sin lah ao han. Ka mathoe e tami teh a tawn e ca patenghai la pouh lah ao han telah a ti.
For whosoever has, it shall be given unto him: and he who has not, it shall be taken from him even that which he has.
26 Jisuh ni Cathut uknaeram teh tami buet touh ni law dawk cati a kahei e hoi a kâvan.
And He said, Thus is the kingdom of God, as a man may cast seed on the ground;
27 Ahni ni cati kahei hnukkhu karum khodai a i ao ei teh a kung a pâw teh a roung, hatei bangtelah hoi maw a roung tie teh panuek hoeh.
and he may sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed germinates and grows, as he does not know.
28 Talai ni cati kapâw e a roung sak teh a paw a paw sak. Hmaloe vah akung, hahoi a vui, hahoi cakang a tâco sak.
The earth spontaneously brings forth fruit; first the blade, then the ear, then the full corn in the ear.
29 Cang a hmin teh canga tue a pha toteh imkung ni uet laipalah karang poung lah tangkoun hoi ouk a a telah a dei.
And when the fruit may develop, immediately he thrusts in the sickle, because the harvest is at hand.
30 Jisuh ni Cathut uknaeram teh bangtelamaw ka kamnue sak han vai, bangpatet e bangnuenae hoi maw ka bangnue han vai.
And He said, To what may we liken the kingdom of God? or in what parable may we present it?
31 Hot teh antam mu hoi doeh a kâvan. Antam mu teh anhla munaw hlak kathounghnawn e lah ao ei, patue toteh,
Tis like a grain of mustard seed, which when it may be sown upon the earth, is the smallest of all seeds which are upon the earth,
32 Anhlakungnaw hlak a roung teh tavanaw ni a kang dawk tabu a tuk awh teh a tâhlip dawk a kâhat nahane totouh akangnaw kalen lah a cawn awh.
and when it may be sowed, it springs up, and becomes the greatest of herbs, and produces great branches; so that the birds of the heavens are able to lodge under its shadow.
33 Hot patet e bangnuenae hoi taminaw ni a thai panuek nahanelah, a cangkhai.
And in many such parables He continued to speak the word to them, as they were able to hear.
34 Bangnuenae hno laipalah ahnimouh koevah cangkhai hoeh. Amamouh dueng ao awh navah a hnukkâbangnaw koe bangpuengpa a pâpho pouh.
And without a parable He did not speak to them: and He privately expounded all things to His disciples.
35 Hat hnin tangmin vah Jisuh ni namran lah cet a sei telah a hnukkâbangnaw koe atipouh.
And He says to them, on that day, it being evening, Let us go away to the other side.
36 Hatdawkvah a hnukkâbangnaw ni tamimaya a ceitakhai teh long thung sut kaawm e Jisuh hoi namran lah a cei awh. Alouke longnaw hai a kâbang awh.
And leaving the multitude, they receive Him, as He was in the ship; and other ships were also with Him.
37 Hatnavah tûilî a tho teh, tuicapa a thaw dawkvah long dawk tui muen akawi.
And there was a great storm of wind: and the waves were dashing into the ship, so that it was already filled.
38 Jisuh teh long a mai koe lah, lahoung a lahoung teh muet a i. A hnukkâbangnaw ni a pâhlaw awh teh, saya maimouh due awh han toe hei, banglahai na pouk hoeh bo aw! atipouh awh.
And He was in the stern, sleeping on a pillow: and they awaken Him, and say to Him; Teacher, is there no care to thee that we perish?
39 Hatnavah Jisuh ni a thaw teh, tûilî hoi tuicapa a yue, hatdawkvah tûilî hoi tuicapa teh a roum.
And being awakened, He said to the sea, Be calm, be quiet. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
40 Hat hnukkhu Bawipa ni bangkongmaw telah totouh na taki thai awh vaw. Bangkongmaw yuemnae na tawn awh hoeh vaw atipouh.
And He said to them, Why are you so cowardly? how have you not faith?
41 Ahnimouh ni thouk a taki awh teh, hete tami teh bangpatet e tami na mah aw, tûilî hoi tuipui ni hai a lawk a ngai pouh bo aw telah buet touh hoi buet touh a kâdei awh.
And they feared with a great fear, and continued to say to one another, Who then is this, because the wind and the sea obey Him?
