< Mark 12 >

1 Hatnavah, bangnuenae hoi a dei pouh. Tami buet touh ni misur takha buet touh a sak. Koung a tumdum hnukkhu misurpaw katin nahane tangkom hai a tai teh, takha ring nahane imrasang hai buet touh sut a sak. Takha hah takhakatawkkungnaw a hlai sak teh, alouke ram lah a cei.
Then addressing them in parables, he said, A man planted a vineyard, and hedged it about, and dug a place for a wine vat, and built a tower, and having farmed it out, went abroad.
2 Atue a pha toteh, takhakatawkkungnaw koehoi misurpaw la hanelah, takhakatawkkungnaw koe a san buet touh a patoun.
The season being come, he sent a servant to the husbandmen, to receive his portion of the fruits of the vineyard.
3 Ahnimanaw ni, san hah a hem awh teh, kuthrawng hoi a pâban awh.
But they seized him, beat him, and sent him away empty.
4 Alouke san hah bout a patoun navah, talung hoi a lû dawk a dei awh teh, yeirai a po sak awh teh, a pâban awh.
Again, he sent to them another servant, whom they wounded in the head with stones, and sent back with disgrace.
5 Alouke san hah bout a patoun navah, a thei awh. Alouke sannaw bout a patoun navah, a tangawn a hem awh, a tangawn a thei awh.
He sent another, whom they killed; and of many more that he sent, some they beat, and some they killed.
6 Takha ka pahren e ni a capa buet touh ao rah dawkvah, ahnimouh ni ka capa teh a bari awh han doeh a titeh, a capa hah a hnukteng vah a patoun.
At last, having an only son, whom he loved, he sent him also to them; for he said, They will reverence my son.
7 Hatei, takhakatawkkungnaw niyah, ahni heh râw ka coe hane doeh, tho awh, thet a sei. Hat pawiteh doeh ahnie râw hah maimouh ni coe ati, ati awh.
But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be our own.
8 Hatdawkvah, takha katawnkung e capa hah a man awh, a thei awh teh, takha alawilah a tâkhawng awh.
Then they laid hold on him, and having thrust him out of the vineyard, they killed him.
9 Hottelah boipawiteh, takhakatawnkung ni bangtelamaw ati han. Takhakatawkkungnaw hah koung thet vaiteh, hote takha hah alouke takhakatawkkungnaw koe a poe han.
What, therefore, will the proprietor of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the husbandmen, and give the vineyard to others.
10 Im kasakkung ni, a pahnawt e talung hah phukaawm poung e takin lung lah bout ao. Hot hateh, Cathut ni doeh a sak.
Have you not read this passage of scripture, "A stone which the builders rejected, is made the head of the corner:
11 Maimae mithmu hai kângairu hanlah ao tie hah Cakathoung dawk na touk boi awh hoeh maw atipouh.
this the Lord has performed, and we behold it with admiration?"
12 Hahoi, vaihma bawinaw, Kâlawk kacangkhainaw, tami kacuenaw ni hote bangnuenae teh maimouh doeh na dei ngai nah tie a panue awh toteh, Jisuh man nahanelah kho a pouk awh. Hatei, kamkhueng e tamihupui hah a taki awh dawkvah, haw hoi alouklah a kâkhoe awh.
And they desired to have seized him, but were afraid of the multitude; for they knew that he spoke the parable against them.
13 Hat hoiyah, yon pen nahanelah, Farasinaw hoi Herod e a taminaw teh Jisuh koe a patoun awh.
Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders, leaving Jesus, went away, and sent to him certain Pharisees and Herodians, to catch him in his words.
Hatdawkvah, Sizar siangpahrang koe tamuk poe kawi maw. Poe kawi hoeh maw. Kaimouh ni ka poe awh han maw. Ka poe awh mahoeh maw telah a pacei awh.
These coming up, said to him, Rabbi, we know that you are upright, and stand in awe of none; for you respect not the person of men, but teach the way of God faithfully. Is it lawful to give tribute to Cesar, or not?
15 Bawipa ni ahnimae dumyennae hah a panue dawkvah, nangmouh ni bangkongmaw kai na tanouk awh. Hate tangka hah hi sin awh haw, ka khenhaw nei atipouh.
Shall we give, or shall we not give? He, perceiving their artifice, answered, Why would you entangle me? Bring me a denarius, that I may see it.
16 Ahnimouh ni a poe awh navah, apie min hoi mei maw ka kamnuek vaw telah a pacei navah, ahnimouh ni Sizar siangpahrang e min hoi mei doeh atipouh awh.
When they had brought, he asked them, Whose is the image and inscription? They answered, Cesar's.
17 Jisuh ni Sizar siangpahrang e hno teh Sizar poe awh. Cathut e hno teh Cathut poe awh, atipouh e hah ahnimouh ni kângai lah a ru awh.
Jesus replied, Render to Cesar that which is Cesar's, and to God that which is God's. And they wondered at him.
18 Duenae koehoi boutthawnae awm hoeh ka tet e Sadusinaw ni Jisuh koe a tho awh teh,
Then Sadducees came to him, who say that there is no future life, and proposed this questions:
19 Bawipa, tami buetbuet touh niyah ca tawn laipalah, a yu dout takhai pawiteh, a misa a thup hoeh nahanelah, a nawngha ni let awmkhai seh telah Mosi ni a thut.
Rabbi, Moses has enacted, that if a man's brother die, survived by a wife without children, he shall marry the widow, and raise issue to his brother.
20 A hmaunawngha sari touh ao awh. A camin ni hmaloe a yu lah a la teh, ca sak laipalah a due takhai.
Now there were seven brothers. The first took a wife, and dying, left no issue.
21 A nawngha ni patuen a okhai teh ca sak laipalah bout a due takhai. Apâthum e ni hai bout a due takhai.
The second married her, and died; neither did he leave any issue; so did also the third.
22 Hottelah, buet touh hnukkhu buet touh a due takhai awh teh, hmaunawngha sari touh ni ca sak a laipalah, hote napui hah be a due takhai awh. A hnukteng vah hote napui hai a due van.
Thus all seven married her, and left no issue. Last of all, the woman also died.
23 Boutthawnae tue a pha toteh, ahnimanaw hai bout a thaw awh toteh, hote napui hah apie yu lah maw ao han. Hmaunawngha sari touh ni hote napui hah a yu lah a okhai awh toe telah a pacei awh.
At the resurrection, therefore, when they are risen, to which of the seven will she belong; for she has been the wife of them all?
24 Jisuh ni nangmouh teh Cakathoung na thai panuek awh hoeh. Cathut bahu hai na panue awh hoeh dawkvah, na tawm payon awh.
Jesus answering, said to them, Is not this the source of your error, your not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God?
25 Duenae koehoi bout thaw toteh, yuvânae awm mahoeh. Kâpaluennae, kâhânae awm mahoeh. kalvan kho e kalvantaminaw patetlah o awh han atipouh.
For there will be neither marrying, nor giving in marriage, among them who rise from the dead. They will then resemble the angels.
26 Hothloilah, kadoutnaw boutthawnae dawkvah, Cathut ni kai teh Abraham e Cathut, Isak e Cathut, Jakop e Cathut lah ka o telah, hmai kang e buruk thung hoi Mosi koe a dei e hah Mosi e cauk dawk na touk awh boi hoeh maw.
But as to the dead, that they are raised, have you not read in the book of Moses, how God spoke to him in the bush, saying, "I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob."
27 Cathut teh kadoutnaw e Cathut na hoeh. Kahringnaw e Cathut doeh. Hatdawkvah nangmouh teh, puenghoi na payon awh atipouh.
God is not a God of the dead, but of the living. Therefore you greatly err.
28 Hottelah a kâoun awh e hah cakathutkung buet touh ni a thai teh, Jisuh ni kalan lah bout a dei e hah a hmu navah, ama koe rek a hnai teh, kâpoelawknaw thung dawk bangpatet e kâlawk maw alawkpui poung lah kaawm telah a pacei.
A scribe, who had heard them dispute, perceiving the justness of his reply, came to him, and proposed this question: Which is the chief commandment of all?
29 Jisuh ni kâlawknaw thung dawk apasuek e teh, Oe Isarelnaw thai awh haw, maimae Cathut dueng doeh Cathut lah kaawm.
Jesus answered, The chief of all the commandments is, "Hearken, Israel, the Lord is our God. The Lord is one:"
30 Na Cathut teh na lungthin abuemlah, na muitha abuemlah, na pouknae abuemlah, na thaonae abuemlah hoi lungpataw, tie teh apasuekpoung e kâpoelawk lah ao.
and, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength." This is the first commandment.
31 Hothloilah, na imri hah nama patetlah lungpataw ati e apâhni e kâpoelawk teh apasueke hoi a kâvan. Het hlak kalen e kâpoelawk awm hoeh telah bout atipouh.
The second resembles it: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." There is no commandment greater than these.
32 Kâlawk ka cangkhai e nihai, Bawipa na dei e teh lawkkatang doeh, ahawipoung. Cathut dueng doeh Cathut lah kaawm.
The scribe replied, Truly, Rabbi, you have answered well. There is one, and only one;
33 Hote Cathut hloilah alouke Cathut awm hoeh. Hote Cathut hah lungthin abuemlah, thaipanueknae abuemlah, thaonae abuemlah, hahoi mahoima patetlah imri hah lungpatawnae teh hmaisawi thuengnae hoi thuengnae pueng hlak hai ahawi telah a dei.
and to love him with all the heart, and with all the spirit, and with all the soul, and with all the strength; and to love one's self, is more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.
34 Hottelah a lawk tho e hah Jisuh ni ahawi tie a panue toteh Cathut uknaeram hoi na hlat hoeh telah atipouh. Hahoi, apinihai bout pacei ngam awh hoeh toe.
Jesus observing how pertinently he had answered, said to him, You are not far from the kingdom of God. After that, no person ventured to put questions to him.
35 Jisuh ni bawkim thung a cangkhai lahun navah, Messiah teh Devit e capa doeh telah bangkongmaw cakathutkungnaw ni ati a vaw.
As Jesus was teaching in the temple, he asked them, Why do you scribes assert, that the Messiah must be a son of David?
36 Devit ni muitha lahoi a dei e teh, Cathut ni na tarannaw hah na khok rahim ka ta hoehroukrak kaie aranglah tahung haw telah ka Bawipa hanelah atipouh.
Yet David, himself, speaking by the Holy Spirit, says, "The Lord, said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I make your foes your footstool."
37 Devit ni Messiah hanelah Bawipa tet pouh pawiteh bangtelamaw Messiah teh Devit capa lah ao thai han vaw. Tami maya ni lunghawicalah hoi a dei e lawk hah rip a thai awh.
David himself, therefore, calls him his Lord; how then can he be his son? And the common people heard him with delight.
38 Hottelah a cangkhai navah Jisuh ni cakathutkungnaw heh roun awh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, ahnimouh teh angkidung kho hoi kâhlai hane a ngai awh. Hnopai yonae hmuen koe tami pueng ni bari e hah a ngai awh.
Further, in teaching, he said to them, Beware of the scribes, who affect to walk in robes; who love salutations in public places,
39 Sinakok vah tahungnae a rasangnae koe a ngai awh teh, pawi canae koe vah, bari kaawm e hmuen koe tahung a ngai awh.
and the principal seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost places at entertainments;
40 Lahmai napuinaw e im hah a lawp awh teh, a yon kamnuek vaih titeh, ka saw poung lah a ratoum awh. Ahnimouh teh hoe kalen e yonphukhangnae a kâhmo awh han atipouh.
who devour the families of widows, and use long prayers for a disguise. They shall undergo the severest punishment.
41 Hahoi Jisuh teh tangkabom koelah a kangvawi teh, a tahung navah taminaw ni tangka a pâseng awh e hah a khet. Ka tawnta e naw teh ka pap a pâseng awh.
And Jesus sitting opposite the treasury, observed the people throwing money into the treasury; and many rich persons put in much.
42 Ka roedeng e lahmainu buet touh a tho teh, rahum tangka phek touh e kahni touh a pâseng van.
Then the poor widow came, who threw in two mites, (which make a farthing.)
43 Bawipa ni a hnukkâbangnaw hah a kaw teh, atangcalah na dei pouh awh. Tangka bom thung kapâsengnaw thung dawkvah, hote lahmainu ni hoe kapap a pâseng toe, atipouh.
Jesus having called his disciples, said to them, Indeed, I say to you, that this poor widow has given more than any of those who have thrown into the treasury;
44 Bangkongtetpawiteh, alouke pueng ni teh a tawn awh e thung dawk hoi a pâseng awh. Hatei, hote lahmainu teh a mathoe ei, a kâkawk nahane a tawn e pueng hah a pâseng toe, atipouh.
for they all have contributed out of their superfluous stores; whereas she has given all the little she had--her whole living.
