1 BAWIPA ni Isarelnaw koe Malakhi hno lahoi a dei e profet lawk teh;
The oracle of the word of Yahweh, unto Israel, —by the hand of Malachi.
2 Kai ni lung na pataw awh toe. Bangtelamaw lung na pataw awh telah na pacei awh pawiteh, Esaw teh Jakop e a hmau nahoehmaw. Hateiteh Jakop teh ka lungpataw.
I have loved you, saith Yahweh, and yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Is not Esau, brother, to Jacob? enquireth Yahweh, Yet have I loved Jacob,
3 Esaw teh ka maithoe. Ahni onae monnaw ayawn lah kacoungsak toe. Râw lah a coe thai kawi talai hah kahrawnguinaw koe yo ka poe toe telah BAWIPA ni a ti.
And, Esau, have I hated, — and made his mountains a desolation, and his inheritance [a dwelling] for the jackals of the wilderness.
4 Edom miphunnaw ni kaimanaw teh karawk awh ei nakunghai, kingdinae hmuennaw hah bout ka pathoup awh han ati awh navah, ransahu BAWIPA ni a dei e lawk teh ahnimanaw ni bout a sak awh nakunghai ka raphoe han. Ahnimanaw teh kahawihoeh hno apapnae ram, BAWIPA lungkhueknae miphun telah ati awh han.
Whereas Edom, may say, We are laid waste, but we will again build the desolate places, Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, They, may build, but, I, will pull down, — and men shall call them, The Boundary of Lawlessness, and, The people with whom Yahweh hath indignation unto times age-abiding;
5 Hote hno nangmouh ni na hmu awh navah Bawipa teh Isarel ram, alawilah a lentoe poung telah ati awh han.
And, your own eyes, shall see, —and, ye yourselves, shall say, Yahweh, be magnified, beyond the boundary of Israel.
6 A capa ni a na pa ouk a bari e patetlah a san ni hai a bawipa ouk a taki. Kai teh nangmae na pa lah kaawm pawiteh, apinimaw kai na bari. Na Bawipa lah kaawm pawiteh apinimaw kai na taki telah ka lentoe poung e ransahu BAWIPA ni amae min ka dudam e vaihmanaw a pacei. Kaimanaw ni na min bangtelamaw ka dudam awh vaw telah na pacei awh navah,
A son, will honour a father, and, a servant, his lord, — If then, a father, I am, where is mine honour? And, if, a lord, I am, where is my reverence? saith Yahweh of hosts— to you, ye priests, who despise my Name, and yet say, Wherein have we despised thy Name?
7 Kakhin e rawca thuengnae khoungroe koe na thokhai awh bo vaw. Kaimouh ni nang teh bangtelamaw na dudam awh vaw telah na pacei awh navah, BAWIPA e caboi teh thoung hoeh telah na ti awh dawkvah, kai na dudam awh toe.
In bringing near upon mine altar, polluted food, while yet ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? Because ye say, As for the table of Yahweh, a thing to be despised, it is;
8 A mit ka dawn e saring hah na thueng pawiteh a yon nahoehmaw. Khokkhem hoi ka pataw e saringnaw hoi thuengnae na sak pawiteh a yon nahoehmaw. Khobawi koe poe haw, khobawi a lungyouk han na ou telah ka lentoe poung e ransahu BAWIPA ni a ti.
And when ye bring near the blind as a sacrifice, [saying] —No harm! or when ye bring near the lame or the sick [saying] —No harm! Offer it, I pray you, unto thy pasha, Will he accept thee? or lift up thy countenance? saith Yahweh of hosts.
9 Atuvah Cathut pahrennae coe awh nahanelah Cathut koe ratoum awh. Nangmouh na coe awh dawkvah hettelah ouk na sak awh. Nangmae minhmai ka khet han namaw telah ransahu BAWIPA ni a ti.
Now, therefore, pacify, I pray you, the face of GOD, that he may grant us favour, —at your hands, hath this come to pass, Will he lift up the countenances, of any of you? saith Yahweh of hosts.
10 Nangmanaw dawk apimaw kaie takhangnaw ka khan han. Nangmanaw ni kaie thuengnae khoungroe van ayawmyin lah hmai na patawi awh mahoeh. Nangmanaw na panki hoeh, nangmouh ni thuengnae na sak e hah kai ni ka dâw mahoeh telah ransahu BAWIPA ni a ti.
Who is there, even among you, that will shut the doors, so as not to set light to mine altar, for nothing? I can take no pleasure in you, saith Yahweh of hosts, and, your present, can I not accept at your hand.
11 Kanîtho koehoi kanîloum totouh alouke miphunnaw koe ka min a lentoe han. Bangpatet e hmuen koehai ka min lahoi hmuitui sawi awh vaiteh, kathounge thuengnae hoi a bawk awh han. Kaie ka min teh alouke miphunnaw koe a lentoe han telah ransahu BAWIPA ni a ti.
For, from the rising of the sun, even unto the going in thereof, great is my Name among the nations, and, in every place, incense, is offered to my Name, and a pure present, —for great is my Name among the nations, saith Yahweh of hosts.
12 Nangmouh ni BAWIPA e caboi na khin sak awh. Na thueng awh teh banglahai na noutna awh hoeh.
But ye are profaning me, — in that ye say, As for the table of the Lord, polluted it is, and, as for his produce, contemptible is his food.
13 Nangmouh ni thaw na tawk awh e dawkvah, ka tawn toe telah na dei teh, pacekpahleknae lawk na dei awh, telah ransahu BAWIPA ni ati. Lawp e naw, khokkhem e ka pataw e naw hah na thokhai awh toe. Nangmouh koe e kai ni ka daw han namaw telah BAWIPA ni a ti.
And ye have said, Lo! what a weariness! And ye have snuffed at Me, saith Yahweh of hosts, and have brought in the torn and the lame and the sick, thus have ye brought the present, — Could I accept it at your hand? saith Yahweh.
14 Tutan poe hanlah lawk kam hnukkhu, atan ao nahlangva na dum awh teh, BAWIPA koe kacuhoehe hoi thuengnae ka sak e tami teh, yawthoenae awmseh. Kai teh ka lentoe poung e siangpahrang lah ka o. Kaie ka min teh miphunnaw ni taki e lah ao han, telah ransahu BAWIPA ni a ti.
But accursed is he that defraudeth, who, when there is in his flock a male, yet voweth and sacrificeth a corrupt thing to the Lord, for, a great king, am I, saith Yahweh of hosts, and, my Name, is revered among the nations.
