< Luk 1 >

1 Ka talue poung e Theophilus, maimouh dawk kamnuek tangcoung e a konglamnaw hah,
SINCE many have attempted to compose a narrative of facts, confirmed to us by the fullest evidence:
2 apuengcue hoi kahmawt ni teh kapanuekkhainaw hoi lawk dawk thaw katawknaw ni maimouh koe a dei tangcoung e patetlah tami moikapap ni ca lahoi thut hanelah a panki awh.
exactly as they delivered them to us, who were eve witnesses from the first, and ministers of the word;
3 Kai ni hai apuengcue hoi ka kamtu e a konglamnaw pueng teh atang katang tie na panue thai nahanelah,
it seemed right to me also, having obtained accurate knowledge of all things from above, to write to thee in regular order, most excellent Theophilus,
4 hote konglamnaw teh nang koe pou hruek hane kawi lah ao telah ka pouk.
to the intent that thou mayest clearly know the certainty of those matters, concerning which thou hast been instructed.
5 Judah ram ka uk e Herod Siangpahrang kut rahim vah Abijah tie vaihma miphun dawk hoi e vaihma Zekhariah teh ao. Ahnie a yu teh Aron e catoun, a min teh Elizabeth,
There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abiah: and his wife of the daughters of Aaron, and her name Elisabeth.
6 ahnimouh roi teh kâpoelawknaw pueng a tarawi roi, tounhoehe lah ao teh, Cathut hmalah tamikalan lah ao roi.
And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

And they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and both were far advanced in years.
8 Hatnavah, Zekhariah teh amae a huinaw hoi cungtalah atueng a pha toung dawkvah, Cathut hmalah vaihma thaw a tawk lahun nah,
And it came to pass, as he discharged his priestly office in the order of his periodical ministration before God,

according to the custom of the priesthood, it fell to his lot to burn the incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.
10 Hottelah Cathut koe a sak lahun navah taminaw pueng teh alawilah a ratoum awh.
And all the multitude of people was praying without, at the time of the burning the incense.
11 Hatnavah Cathut e kalvantami teh Zekhariah hmalah a kamnue teh hmuitui hmaisawi thuengnae aranglah a kangdue.
And an angel of the Lord appeared to him standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
12 Zekhariah ni a hmu navah a kalue teh a taki.
And Zacharias was agitated greatly at the sight, and fear fell upon him.
13 Kalvantami ni Zekhariah taket hanh, nange ratoumnae teh Cathut ni a thai toe. Na yu Elizabeth teh ca tongpa a khe han, a min teh Jawhan telah na phung han.
But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bring thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

And he shall go forth before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to convert the hearts of fathers with their children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to prepare a people ready for the Lord.

And it came to pass, when the days of his ministry were fulfilled, he went to his own house.

Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days in which he looked upon me to take away my reproach among men.
26 Thapa yung taruk navah Cathut ni kalvantami Gabriel koe, Galilee ram Nazareth kho dawk kaawm e tangla koe a patoun.
Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God into a city of Galilee, the name of which was Nazareth,

And when she saw him, she was greatly agitated at his address: and reasoned in herself what kind of salutation this could be.

And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found favour with God.

Then said Mary, Behold a servant of the Lord, be it to me according to thy declaration. And the angel departed from her.
39 Hathnukkhu Meri ni, Judah ram mon dawk kaawm e kho buet touh dawk karanglah a cei hnukkhu,
Then Mary arose in those days, and went with haste into the hill country, to a city of Judah,

and she exclaimed with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.

And whence is this favour shewn me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

And they made signs to his father, what he would have him called.
