1 BAWIPA ni Mosi hoi Aron bout a kaw teh,
And YHWH speaks to Moses and to Aaron, saying to them,
2 Nangmouh roi ni Isarelnaw koe patuen bout na dei pouh hane teh, talai van kaawm e moithang pueng dawk,
“Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, This [is] the beast which you eat out of all the beasts which [are] on the earth:
3 A khoksamen samka ni teh a thepkaai e moithangnaw teh ca thainae kâ ao.
any dividing a hoof, and cleaving the cleft of the hooves, bringing up the cud, among the beasts—you eat it.
4 Hatei, thepkaai ni teh khoksamen samka hoeh e moithang thung dawk, ca hoeh hane moithangnaw teh Kalauk teh athepai hoeh eiteh khoksamen samka hoeh dawkvah nangmouh hanlah thoung hoeh.
Only, this you do not eat, of those bringing up the cud, and of those dividing the hoof: the camel, though it is bringing up the cud, yet the hoof is not dividing—it [is] unclean to you;
5 Kovei teh thepkaai eiteh a khoksamen samka hoeh dawkvah nangmouh hanlah thoung hoeh.
and the hyrax, though it is bringing up the cud, yet the hoof is not divided—it [is] unclean to you;
6 Saveh teh thepkaai eiteh a khoksamen samka hoeh dawkvah nangmouh hanlah thoung hoeh.
and the hare, though it is bringing up the cud, yet the hoof has not divided—it [is] unclean to you;
7 Vok teh a khoksamen samka eiteh thepkaai hoeh dawkvah nangmouh hanlah thoung hoeh.
and the sow, though it is dividing the hoof, and cleaving the cleft of the hoof, yet it does not bring up the cud—it [is] unclean to you.
8 Hot patet e moithangnaw e a moi na cat awh mahoeh. Ro haiyah na tek awh mahoeh. Kathounghoehe lah na pouk awh han.
You do not eat of their flesh, and you do not come against their carcass—they [are] unclean to you.
9 Tuipui hoi sawkca dawk kaawm e moithangnaw thung dawk a rathei hoi a lakep kaawm e teh na ca awh han.
This you eat of all which [are] in the waters: anything that has fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the brooks, them you eat;
10 A rathei hoi a lakep kaawm hoeh e tuipui hoi sawkca dawk kaawm e moithang pueng teh nangmouh hanlah thoung hoeh.
and anything that does not have fins and scales in the seas, and in the brooks, of any teeming creature of the waters, and of any creature which lives, which [is] in the waters—they [are] an abomination to you;
11 A rathei hoi a lakep kaawm hoeh e tui dawk e moithang na cat awh mahoeh.
indeed, they are an abomination to you; you do not eat of their flesh, and you detest their carcass.
12 A ronaw hai panuettho e lah na pouk awh han.
Anything that does not have fins and scales in the waters—it [is] an abomination to you.
13 Nangmouh ni panuettho e lah na pouk awh vaiteh na ca awh hoeh hane tavanaw teh: Mataw, Langta, Tawbu,
And these you detest of the bird—they are not eaten, they [are] an abomination: the eagle, and the bearded vulture, and the osprey,
14 Mataw phun,
and the kite, and the falcon after its kind,
15 Vonga phun kuep,
every raven after its kind,
16 Kalauk tava, bukbu phun kuep, batuiling phun kuep,
and the ostrich, and the nightjar [[or male ostrich]], and the seagull, and the hawk after its kind,
17 Kawhna hoi balengek,
and the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,
18 Tuicawmpai,
and the waterhen, and the pelican, and the Egyptian vulture,
19 Butakok phun kuep, Bongpi, Bongcakhat phun kuep,
and the stork, the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.
20 A rathei ka tawn ni teh a khok pali touh hoi kacetnaw pueng teh nangmouh hanlah kathounghoehe lah ao.
Every teeming creature which is flying, which is going on four [legs]—it [is] an abomination to you.
21 Hateiteh, a rathei a tawn teh a khok pali touh hoi ka cet e phun dawk dawkcawk nahanlah a khok kasaw poung naw teh:
Only, this you eat of any teeming thing which is flying, which is going on four, which has legs above its feet, to move with them on the earth;
22 Samtong, pâluen, tawktaboe, Tawngkaruetnaw teh na ca awh han.
these of them you eat: the locust after its kind, and the bald locust after its kind, and the cricket after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind;
23 A rathei ka tawn ni teh a khok pali touh hoi ka cet e alouke moithang pueng teh nangmouh hanlah thoung hoeh.
and every teeming thing which is flying, which has four feet—it [is] an abomination to you.
24 Hote moithang lahoi nangmae thoungnae hah a khin thai. Hot patet e ro katek e tami teh tangmin totouh thoung hoeh.
And you are made unclean by these; anyone who is coming against their carcass is unclean until the evening;
25 Hote kadout e ro ka sin e tami teh khohna a pâsu han, tangmin totouh thoung hoeh.
and anyone who is lifting up of their carcass washes his garments, and has been unclean until the evening—
26 A khoksamen samka hoeh e, a thepkaai hoeh e saring pueng teh nangmouh hanlah thoung hoeh.
even every beast which is dividing the hoof, and is not cloven-footed, and is not bringing up the cud—they [are] unclean to you; anyone who is coming against them is unclean.
27 A khoksamen samka hoeh e saring pueng teh nangmouh hanlah thoung hoeh. Hote ro ka tek e tami teh tangmin totouh thoung hoeh.
And anything going on its paws, among all the beasts which are going on four—they [are] unclean to you; anyone who is coming against their carcass is unclean until the evening;
28 Hote ro ka phawt e tami pueng teh a khohna a pâsu han. Tangmin totouh thoung hoeh.
and he who is lifting up their carcass washes his garments, and has been unclean until the evening—they [are] unclean to you.
29 Talai dawk a vonpui hoi kâva e saring thung dawk thangbui, moihnam, Insi phun,
And this [is] the unclean to you among the teeming things which are teeming on the earth: the weasel, and the muroid, and the tortoise [[or large lizard]] after its kind,
30 Tawkkei, Tawngkang, Cingkadawt, Dekko hoi Khaipadounnaw teh nangmouh hanlah thoung hoeh.
and the gecko [[or ferret]], and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole;
31 Hotnaw e ro katek e tami teh tangmin totouh thoung hoeh.
these [are] the unclean to you among all which are teeming; anyone who is coming against them in their death is unclean until the evening.
32 Hote kadout e a ro hah thingkawlung, khohna, a pho, cawngko patetlah e im dawk e hno e buet touh van bawt pawiteh thoung hoeh. Tui dawk ranup han. Tangmin totouh thoung hoeh. Hathnukkhu a thoung han.
And anything on which anyone of them falls, in their death, is unclean, of any vessel of wood or garment or skin or sack, any vessel in which work is done is brought into water, and has been unclean until the evening, then it has been clean;
33 Talai hlaam buetbuet touh van ro hah bawt pawiteh, Hote talai hlaam teh a thounghoeh dawkvah rek hem han.
and any earthen vessel, into the midst of which [any] one of them falls, all that [is] in its midst is unclean, and you break it.
34 Hote talai hlaam dawk e tui cakawi moi van vah, bawt pawiteh moi thoung hoeh. Hote talai hlaam dawk e nei hane tui hai thoung hoeh.
Of all the food which is eaten, that on which comes [such] water, is unclean, and all drink which is drunk in any [such] vessel is unclean;
35 Takhuen dawk thoseh, lunghmu dawk thoseh, hote hno buetbuet touh bawt pawiteh nangmouh hanelah a thounghoeh dawkvah, peng raphoe han.
and anything on which [any] of their carcass falls is unclean; oven or double pots, it is broken down, they [are] unclean, indeed, they are unclean to you.
36 Hatei, sambuem, tai e tui im teh kathounghoehe lah awm hoeh. Ro ni a bosin e dueng doeh kathounghoehe lah ao.
Only, a fountain or pit, a collection of water, is clean, but that which is coming against their carcass is unclean;
37 Cati dawk hote ro bawt pawiteh, Cati teh kathounghoehe lah awm mahoeh.
and when [any] of their carcass falls on any sown seed which is sown—it [is] clean;
38 Tui dawk padung tangcoung e cati dawk hote ro bawt pawiteh cati teh nangmouh hanlah thoung hoeh.
and when water is put on the seed, and [any] of its carcass has fallen on it—it [is] unclean to you.
39 Nangmouh ni na ca han kawi saring dout pawiteh, ro katek e tami teh tangmin totouh thoung hoeh.
And when any of the beasts which are for food for you dies, he who is coming against its carcass is unclean until the evening;
40 Hote ro ka cat e tami teh a khohna a pâsu han. Tangmin totouh thoung hoeh. Hote ro ka phawt e tami hai amae a khohna a pâsu han. Tangmin totouh thoung hoeh.
and he who is eating of its carcass washes his garments, and has been unclean until the evening; and he who is lifting up its carcass washes his garments, and has been unclean until the evening.
41 Talai dawk kâva e saringnaw pueng teh panuettho e lah ao dawkvah na cat awh mahoeh.
And every teeming thing which is teeming on the earth is an abomination, it is not eaten;
42 A khok tawn hoeh, a von hoi ka cet e thoseh, khok pali touh hoi ka cet e thoseh, khok pali hlak kapap e khok hoi ka cet e thoseh, talai dawk kâva e saring buet touh boehai na cat awh mahoeh. Panuetkatho e lah ao.
anything going on the belly, and any going on four, to every multiplier of feet, to every teeming thing which is teeming on the earth—you do not eat them, for they [are] an abomination;
43 Kâva e saring buetbuet touh kecu namahoima kâkhinsak awh hanh. Hotnaw hoi nama kâkhinsak awh hanh.
you do not make yourselves abominable with any teeming thing which is teeming, nor do you make yourselves unclean with them, so that you have been unclean with them.
44 Kai teh nangmae BAWIPA Cathut lah ka o. Kai teh kathoung dawkvah nangmouh haiyah namahoima kâthoung sak awh nateh thoungnae tawn awh. Talai dawk kâva e saring buet touh boe hoi hai kâkhinsak awh hanh.
For I [am] your God YHWH, and you have sanctified yourselves, and you have been holy, for I [am] holy; and you do not defile your persons with any teeming thing which is creeping on the earth;
45 Kai teh nangmae Cathut lah ka o nahanlah nangmouh teh Izip ram hoi na ka rasat e BAWIPA lah ka o. Kai teh kathoung dawkvah nangmouh hai thoungnae tawn awh.
for I [am] YHWH who am bringing you up out of the land of Egypt to become your God; and you have been holy, for I [am] holy.
46 Hetnaw teh, kathoung, kathoung hoeh, cakawi hoi cakawi hoeh e saringnaw kapek thai nahanelah,
This [is] a law of the beasts, and of the bird, and of every living creature which is moving in the waters, and of every creature which is teeming on the earth,
47 Moi, tava, tui dawk kaawm e moithang, talai dawk kâva e moithangnaw puenghoi ka kâkuen e phunglawk doeh ati.
to make separation between the unclean and the pure, and between the beast that is eaten, and the beast that is not eaten.”
