1 Oe BAWIPA kaimanaw dawk ka phat e hno hah, pahnim hanh. Kaimae yeiraiponae hai khen nateh na panuek pouh.
Remember, O Lord, what has happened to us: behold, and look on our reproach.
2 Kaimae râw talai teh, ram louk e kut dawk, imnaw hai Jentelnaw e kut a pha toe.
Our inheritance has been turned away to aliens, our houses to strangers:
3 Kaimanaw teh nara patetlah ka o toe. Na pa o hoeh dawk kaimae manunaw teh lahmai patetlah ao awh.
we are become orphans, we have no father, our mothers are as widows.
4 Kaimouh teh tui hai aphu hoi ka ran awh. Ka hno awh hane thing hai aphu hoi ka ran awh.
We have drunk our water for money; our wood is sold to us [for a burden] on our neck:
5 Kaimae hnukkhu rek na patawt dawkvah, ka patang awh. Kaimanaw teh kâhatnae na poe hoeh.
we have been persecuted, we have laboured, we have had no rest.
6 Kaimanaw teh rawcarawnei a khout thai nahanlah, Izip ram, Assiria ram naw e a hmalah kutdaw teh ka hei awh.
Egypt gave the hand [to us], Assur to their own satisfaction.
7 Kaimae mintoenaw ni a ton awh teh, a kahma awh nakunghai, kaimanaw ni ahnimae a yonnae teh ka phu awh.
Our fathers sinned, [and] are not: we have borne their iniquities.
8 Sannaw ni kaimouh teh na uk awh. Ahnimae kut dawk hoi apinihai na rungngang thai hoeh.
Servants have ruled over us: there is none to ransom [us] out of their hand.
9 Kahrawngum vah, tahloi kecu dawk kaimouh teh hring nahanelah, canei hane ka panki teh ka tawng awh.
We shall bring in our bread with [danger of] our lives, because of the sword of the wilderness.
10 Takang dawk kaimae vuennaw teh takhuen patetlah a tamang toe.
Our skin is blackened like an oven; they are convulsed, because of the storms of famine.
11 Ahnimouh teh Zion khopui dawk kaawm e napuinaw hoi Judah khopui dawk kaawm napui tanglanaw hah a pacekpahlek awh.
They humbled the women in Sion, the virgins in the cities of Juda.
12 Ahnimae kâ dawk hoi bawinaw hah lawk a ceng awh. Kacuenaw hai barilawa awh hoeh.
Princes were hanged up by their hands: the elders were not honoured.
13 Thoundounnaw ni talungsumnaw hah a phu awh. Camonaw ni thing a hrawm thai hoeh e ngangngang a hrawm awh.
The chosen men lifted up [the voice in] weeping, and the youths fainted under the wood.
14 Kacuenaw ni kho longkha koehoi thoseh, thoundounnaw ni ahnimae tumkhawng koehoi thoseh a ceitakhai awh.
And the elders ceased from the gate, the chosen men ceased from their music.
15 Kaimae lungthin dawkvah, lunghawi nawmnae a kâhat teh, lamtunae dawk hoi khuikanae koelah a coung toe.
The joy of our heart has ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.
16 Kaimae lû dawk hoi bawilakhung teh a bo toe. Kaimouh ni ka sak e yon dawkvah, kamamouh koe yawthoenae ao.
The crown has fallen [from] our head: yes, woe to us! for we have sinned.
17 Hote hno dawkvah, kaimae lungthin teh tha ayounnae koe lah, a pha toe. Hote yon dawk kaimae mitnaw hai amom toe.
For this has grief come; our heart is sorrowful: for this our eyes are darkened.
18 Kingkadi e Zion mon dawkvah, Asuinaw ni a paitun awh.
Over the mountain of Sion, because it is made desolate, foxes have walked therein.
19 Oe BAWIPA nama teh, a yungyoe na kangning. Nama e bawitungkhung teh catounnaw e lah a yungyoe a kangning.
But you, O Lord, shall dwell for ever; your throne [shall endure] to generation and generation.
20 Bangkongmaw kaimanaw hah pou na pahnim vaw. Bangkongmaw atueng moikasawlah na pahnawt vaw.
Therefore will you utterly forget us, and abandon us a long time?
21 Oe BAWIPA kaimouh teh nama koe bout na bankhai haw. Telah pawiteh, kaimouh teh bout ka tho awh han. Yampa e patetlah kaimae a hninnaw teh a katha lah na pathoup haw.
Turn us, O Lord, to you, and we shall be turned; and renew our days as before.
22 Hoehpawiteh, nama ni kaimanaw hah na pahnawt han na maw. Kaimanaw hah puenghoi na lungkhueksin han na maw.
For you have indeed rejected us; you have been very angry against us.
