1 Atangcalah ka dei. Tu takhang dawk hoi kâen laipalah alouklah hoi kâen e pueng teh tamru hoi dingca doeh.
“Most certainly, I tell you, one who doesn’t enter by the door into the sheep fold, but climbs up some other way, is a thief and a robber.
2 Tukhoumkung teh takhang dawk hoi a kâen.
But one who enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 Longkha ka ring e ni hai a paawng pouh teh, ahnie a lawk hai a tunaw ni a ngai awh. A tunaw teh a min lahoi a kaw teh alawilah a tâcokhai.
The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
4 Tunaw a tha navah, a tunaw e a hmalah a cei. A tunaw ni hai a lawk a nout awh teh a hnukkâbang awh.
Whenever he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
5 Tamitavannaw e a lawk teh a nout awh hoeh dawkvah ahnimae hnuk teh kâbang awh hoeh, a yawng takhai awh, atipouh.
They will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him; for they don’t know the voice of strangers.”

Jesus spoke this parable to them, but they didn’t understand what he was telling them.
7 Hatdawkvah Jisuh ni, atangcalah na dei pouh awh. Kai teh tu kâennae takhang lah ka o.
Jesus therefore said to them again, “Most certainly, I tell you, I am the sheep’s door.
8 Kai hoehnahlan e ka tho e pueng teh tamru hoi dingca doeh. Ahnimae a lawk tunaw ni ngai pouh hoeh.
All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep didn’t listen to them.
9 Kai teh takhang doeh. Kai dawk hoi kâen pueng ni rungngang lah ao han. Kâen tâcawt vaiteh hram kanaw dawk a pawngpa han.
I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out and will find pasture.
10 Tamru teh paru han, thei han hoi raphoe hanlah doeh a tho. Kai teh tunaw ni hringnae a tawn awh dueng laipalah, hote hringnae hoi kawi sak hanlah doeh ka tho.
The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.
11 Kai teh tukhoumkung kahawi doeh. Tukhoumkung kahawi ni teh a tunaw hanlah a hringnae a pasoung.
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
12 Tukhoumkung hai nahoeh, tu katawnkung hai nahoeh e naw niteh, asui a tho e a hmu navah, tunaw hah pak a tha teh a yawng takhai awh. Hatnavah Asuinaw ni tunaw hah a soukyak awh teh, parang a kamphei sak.
He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who doesn’t own the sheep, sees the wolf coming, leaves the sheep, and flees. The wolf snatches the sheep and scatters them.
13 Bangkongtetpawiteh, hlai e tukhoumkung teh hlai e lah ao dawkvah tunaw kahawicalah khoum hoeh.
The hired hand flees because he is a hired hand and doesn’t care for the sheep.
14 Kai teh tukhoumkung kahawi doeh. Pa ni kai na panue teh, Kai ni hai Pa ka panue e patetlah ka tunaw ni hai kai na panue awh.
I am the good shepherd. I know my own, and I’m known by my own;
15 Kai ni ka khoum e ka tunaw hanlah ka hringnae ka pasoung.
even as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. I lay down my life for the sheep.
16 Hatei tu takha dawk kâen hoeh e alouke tunaw hai ka tawn. Hote tunaw hai ka thokhai han. Hotnaw ni hai lawk a ngai vaiteh tuhu buet touh tukhoumkung buet touh ao han.
I have other sheep which are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will hear my voice. They will become one flock with one shepherd.
17 Kai teh hringnae bout la hanlah ka hringnae ka pasoung dawkvah Pa ni lungpataw e lah ka o.
Therefore the Father loves me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again.

No one takes it away from me, but I lay it down by myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. I received this commandment from my Father.”

Therefore a division arose again amongst the Jews because of these words.

Many of them said, “He has a demon and is insane! Why do you listen to him?”
21 Tami tangawn niteh, ahnie lawk heh kahrai ka tawn e lawk na hoeh. Kahrai ni a mit ka dawn e ahawi sak thai han namaw ati awh.
Others said, “These are not the sayings of one possessed by a demon. It isn’t possible for a demon to open the eyes of the blind, is it?”
22 Kasik tue nah, Jerusalem vah kamthoungnae pawi ao.
It was the Feast of the Dedication at Jerusalem.
23 Jisuh teh bawkim Solomon thongma dawkvah a kâhlai.
It was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple, in Solomon’s porch.
24 Judahnaw ni khuk a ven awh teh, kaimouh nâtotouh maw lung na hring sak han vaw. Nang teh Khrih lah na awm katang pawiteh kamcengcalah dei leih atipouh awh.
The Jews therefore came around him and said to him, “How long will you hold us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”
25 Jisuh nihai, ka dei ei na yuem awh hoeh. A Pa e kâ lahoi ka sak e pueng ni kai heh na kampangkhai.
Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you don’t believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name, these testify about me.
26 Hateiteh, nangmouh ni na yuem awh hoeh. Bangdawkmaw na yuem awh hoeh tetpawiteh nangmouh teh kaie tu na hoeh.
But you don’t believe, because you are not of my sheep, as I told you.
27 Ka tunaw ni ka lawk a thai teh ka hnuk a kâbang awh. Hote tunaw teh kai ni ka nout.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
28 Yungyoe hringnae hai ka poe. Hote tunaw teh kamkonae koe phat mahoeh. Kaie ka kut dawk hoi apinihai na lawm thai mahoeh. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
29 Hote tunaw teh kai koe na kapoekung a Pa teh bangpueng hlak a lentoe dawk apinihai hote tunaw teh apa kut dawk hoi lawm thai mahoeh.
My Father who has given them to me is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand.

I and the Father are one.”

Therefore the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
32 Jisuh nihai, kai ni apa e kâ lahoi kahawi e hnonaw na patue awh. Hotnaw dawkvah bangmaw ka payon teh talung hoi dei han na ti awh vaw, telah a pacei awh.
Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of those works do you stone me?”
33 Judahnaw ni kahawi hno na sak pawiteh talung hoi na dêi mahoeh. Nang ni tami lah o nahlangva Cathut na kâti teh, Cathut na dudam dawk doeh talung hoi na dei han ka ti awh.
The Jews answered him, “We don’t stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.”
34 Jisuh nihai, nangmae Cakathoung dawk, nangmouh teh cathutnaw doeh telah a thut nahoehmaw.
Jesus answered them, “Isn’t it written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods’?
35 Cathut e a lawk dawk kaawm e taminaw hah cathutnaw tetpawiteh, Cakathoung teh payon hoeh e lah ao dawkvah,
If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture can’t be broken),

do you say of him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?
37 A Pa e thawnaw hah kai ni ka tawk hoe pawiteh, kai hai na yuem awh hanh.
If I don’t do the works of my Father, don’t believe me.

But if I do them, though you don’t believe me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”
39 Hatnavah Judahnaw ni Jisuh man hanelah bout a tawng awh. Ahnimae kut dawk hoi a hlout teh yout a ceitakhai.
They sought again to seize him, and he went out of their hand.
40 Hathnukkhu Jawhan ni tui baptisma a poenae Jordan palang na ran lah a cei teh haw va ao.
He went away again beyond the Jordan into the place where John was baptising at first, and he stayed there.
41 Taminaw teh ahnimouh koe a pha navah, Jawhan ni bang patet e mitnout hai sak hoeh eiteh, ahnie a kong Jawhan ni a dei e patetlah atang doeh ati awh.
Many came to him. They said, “John indeed did no sign, but everything that John said about this man is true.”
42 Hettelah hoi hote hmuen koe e tami moikapap ni Bawipa teh a yuem awh.
Many believed in him there.
