1 Atangcalah ka dei. Tu takhang dawk hoi kâen laipalah alouklah hoi kâen e pueng teh tamru hoi dingca doeh.
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who enters not by the gate into the sheepfold, but climbs over the fence, is a thief and a robber.
2 Tukhoumkung teh takhang dawk hoi a kâen.
The shepherd always enters by the gate.
3 Longkha ka ring e ni hai a paawng pouh teh, ahnie a lawk hai a tunaw ni a ngai awh. A tunaw teh a min lahoi a kaw teh alawilah a tâcokhai.
To him, the porter opens, and the sheep obey his voice. His own sheep he calls by name, and leads out.
4 Tunaw a tha navah, a tunaw e a hmalah a cei. A tunaw ni hai a lawk a nout awh teh a hnukkâbang awh.
And having put out his sheep, he walks before them, and they follow him; because they know his voice.
5 Tamitavannaw e a lawk teh a nout awh hoeh dawkvah ahnimae hnuk teh kâbang awh hoeh, a yawng takhai awh, atipouh.
They will not follow a stranger, but flee from him; because they know not the voice of strangers.
6 Hote bangnuenae Jisuh ni a dei navah taminaw ni a deingainae hah thai panuek awh hoeh.
Jesus addressed this similitude to them, but they did not comprehend what he said.
He therefore added, Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the gate of the fold.
8 Kai hoehnahlan e ka tho e pueng teh tamru hoi dingca doeh. Ahnimae a lawk tunaw ni ngai pouh hoeh.
All who preceded me were thieves and robbers; but the sheep obeyed them not.
9 Kai teh takhang doeh.
I am the gate: such as enter by me shall be safe: they shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 Tamru teh paru han, thei han hoi raphoe hanlah doeh a tho. Kai teh tunaw ni hringnae a tawn awh dueng laipalah, hote hringnae hoi kawi sak hanlah doeh ka tho.
The thief comes in only to steal, to slay, and to destroy. I am come that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
11 Kai teh tukhoumkung kahawi doeh. Tukhoumkung kahawi ni teh a tunaw hanlah a hringnae a pasoung.
I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives his life for his sheep.
12 Tukhoumkung hai nahoeh, tu katawnkung hai nahoeh e naw niteh, asui a tho e a hmu navah, tunaw hah pak a tha teh a yawng takhai awh. Hatnavah Asuinaw ni tunaw hah a soukyak awh teh, parang a kamphei sak.
The hireling, who is not the shepherd, and to whom the sheep do not belong, when he sees the wolf coming, abandons the sheep, and flees; and the wolf tears them, and disperses the flock.
13 Bangkongtetpawiteh, hlai e tukhoumkung teh hlai e lah ao dawkvah tunaw kahawicalah khoum hoeh.
The hireling flees, because he is a hireling, and cares not for the sheep.
14 Kai teh tukhoumkung kahawi doeh.
I am the good shepherd. And I know my own, and am known by them,
(even as the Father knows me, and I know the Father; ) and I give my life for the sheep.
16 Hatei tu takha dawk kâen hoeh e alouke tunaw hai ka tawn. Hote tunaw hai ka thokhai han. Hotnaw ni hai lawk a ngai vaiteh tuhu buet touh tukhoumkung buet touh ao han.
I have other sheep, besides, which are not of this fold. Them I must also bring; and they will obey my voice; and there shall be one flock, one shepherd.
For this the Father loves me, because I give my life, to be afterward resumed.
Hete kâpoelawk heh a Pa koehoi ka coe e doeh.
No one forces it from me: but I give it of myself. I have power to give it, and I have power to resume it. This commandment I have received from my Father.
19 Hete lawk kecu dawk Judahnaw a kâkapek awh.
Again there was a division among the Jews, occasioned by this discourse.
20 Tami tangawn niteh, ahni heh kahrai ni a man e ka pathu e doeh toe. Bang hane mouh khuet na thai pouh va ati awh.
Many of them said, He has a demon, and is mad: why do you hear him?
Others said, These are not the words of a demonise. Can a demon give sight to the blind?
22 Kasik tue nah, Jerusalem vah kamthoungnae pawi ao.
Afterward, when they were celebrating the feast of the dedication, at Jerusalem,
23 Jisuh teh bawkim Solomon thongma dawkvah a kâhlai.
it being in winter; as Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon's portico,
the Jews surrounding him, said to him, How long will you keep us in suspense? If you be the Messiah, tell us plainly.
Jesus answered, I told you; but you believed not. The works which I do in my Father's name, testify of me.
26 Hateiteh, nangmouh ni na yuem awh hoeh. Bangdawkmaw na yuem awh hoeh tetpawiteh nangmouh teh kaie tu na hoeh.
But you believe not, for you are not of my sheep.
27 Ka tunaw ni ka lawk a thai teh ka hnuk a kâbang awh. Hote tunaw teh kai ni ka nout.
My sheep, as I told you, obey my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
28 Yungyoe hringnae hai ka poe. Hote tunaw teh kamkonae koe phat mahoeh.
Besides, I give them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any one wrest them out of my hands. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
29 Hote tunaw teh kai koe na kapoekung a Pa teh bangpueng hlak a lentoe dawk apinihai hote tunaw teh apa kut dawk hoi lawm thai mahoeh.
My Father, who gave them me, is greater than all; and none can wrest them out of my Father's hand.
30 Kai teh Pa hoi buet touh lah ka o, atipouh.
I and the Father are one.
31 Hatnavah Judahnaw ni Bawipa teh talung hoi dêi hanlah talung bout a rakhun sin awh.
Then the Jews again took up stones to stone him.
32 Jisuh nihai, kai ni apa e kâ lahoi kahawi e hnonaw na patue awh. Hotnaw dawkvah bangmaw ka payon teh talung hoi dei han na ti awh vaw, telah a pacei awh.
Jesus said to them, Many good works I have shown you from my Father; for which of these works do you stone me?
The Jews answered, For a good work we do not stone you, but for blasphemy; because you, being a man, make yourself God.
34 Jisuh nihai, nangmae Cakathoung dawk, nangmouh teh cathutnaw doeh telah a thut nahoehmaw.
Jesus replied, Is it not written in your law, "I said, You are gods?"
35 Cathut e a lawk dawk kaawm e taminaw hah cathutnaw tetpawiteh, Cakathoung teh payon hoeh e lah ao dawkvah,
If the law styled them gods, to whom the word of God was addressed, and if the language of scripture in unexceptionable;
36 Pa ni a thoungsak teh, het talaivan lah a tha e kai teh Cathut Capa doeh ka ti dawkvah nangmouh ni Cathut koe na payon na ti thai awh han na maw.
do you charge him with blasphemy whom the Father has consecrated his Apostle to the world, for calling himself his Son?
If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
But if I do, though you believe not me, believe the works, that you may know and believe, that the Father is in me, and I am in him.
39 Hatnavah Judahnaw ni Jisuh man hanelah bout a tawng awh. Ahnimae kut dawk hoi a hlout teh yout a ceitakhai.
They then attempted again to seize him; but he escaped out of their hands,
40 Hathnukkhu Jawhan ni tui baptisma a poenae Jordan palang na ran lah a cei teh haw va ao.
and retired again toward the Jordan, and abode in the place where John first immersed.
41 Taminaw teh ahnimouh koe a pha navah, Jawhan ni bang patet e mitnout hai sak hoeh eiteh, ahnie a kong Jawhan ni a dei e patetlah atang doeh ati awh.
And many resorted to him, who said, John, indeed, wrought no miracle: but all that John spoke of this man, is true.
42 Hettelah hoi hote hmuen koe e tami moikapap ni Bawipa teh a yuem awh.
And many believed on him there.
