< Job 40 >
1 Hahoi BAWIPA ni lawk a pathung teh,
And the Lord God answered Job, and said,
2 Athakasaipounge, hoi lawk ka oun e ni ama teh a yue han na maw, Cathut ma ni pathung yawkaw seh khe, telah atipouh.
Will [any one] pervert judgment with the Mighty One? and he that reproves God, let him return it for answer.
3 Job ni BAWIPA hah a pathung teh,
And Job answered and said to the Lord,
4 Khenhaw! kai teh banghai cungkeihoehe lah ka o, bangtelamaw ka pathung han, ka pahni teh ka tabuem toe.
Why do I yet plead? being rebuked even while reproving the Lord: hearing such things, whereas I am nothing: and what shall I answer to these [arguments]? I will lay my hand upon my mouth.
5 Vai touh ka dei toung dawkvah, ka pathung mahoeh toe. Vai hni touh e teh bout ka dei mahoeh toe telah a ti.
I have spoken once; but I will not do so a second time.
6 Hottelah Cathut ni Job hah bongparui thung hoi a pathung teh hettelah a dei:
And the Lord yet again answered and spoke to Job out of the cloud, [saying],
7 Atuvah tongpatang lah coungkacoe awmh. Lawk na pacei vaiteh na pathung han.
Nay, gird up now thy loins like a man; and I will ask thee, and do thou answer me.
8 Ka lawkcengnae hah na pathung katang han maw, na yon hoeh nahanlah yon na pen han maw.
Do not set aside my judgment: and dost thou think that I have dealt with thee in any other way, than that thou mightest appear to be righteous?
9 Cathut patetlah kut na tawn maw, ama patetlah pawlawk na cai sak thai maw.
Hast thou an arm like the Lord's? or dost thou thunder with a voice like his?
10 Taluenae hoi raimonae lah kamthoup haw, bawilennae hoi na meihawinae kamthoup.
Assume now a lofty bearing and power; and clothe thyself with glory and honour.
11 Na lungkhueknae e hah tâcawt sak haw, Kâoup e pueng hah khen nateh pabawt haw.
And send forth messengers with wrath; and lay low every haughty one.
12 Kâoup e pueng hah khen nateh rahnoum sak haw, tamikathoutnaw hah a onae hmuen dawkvah repcoungroe sin awh.
Bring down also the proud man; and consume at once the ungodly.
13 Vaiphu dawk cungtalah be hrawk awh, kâhrawk e hmonae hoi a minhmai hah ramuk awh.
And hide them together in the earth; and fill their faces with shame.
14 Hottelah aranglae na kut ni na rungngang thai e hah, kai ni hai ka pâpho han.
[Then] will I confess that thy right hand can save [thee].
15 Khenhaw! nama patetlah ka sak e Behemoth heh maitotan patetlah pho kahring a ca van.
But now look at the wild beasts with thee; they eat grass like oxen.
16 A keng dawk e thaonae hoi a vonpui dawk e tharui hnotithainae hah khenhaw!
Behold now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
17 A mai teh sidar thing patetlah a kâroe sak teh, a phai dawk e tharuinaw teh a bawk bawk lah ao.
He sets up his tail like a cypress; and his nerves are wrapped together.
18 A hrunaw teh rahum khom patetlah ao teh, a nâhru teh sum khom patetlah ao.
His sides are sides of brass; and his backbone is [as] cast iron.
19 Cathut e lamthung dawk hoi ahni te pasuek e lah a o, ahni dueng doeh kasakkung ni tahloi hoi kâhnai sak e lah ao.
This is the chief of the creation of the Lord; made to be played with by his angels.
20 Monnaw ni ca hane a tâco sak, hawvah moithangnaw pueng ni a pai awh.
And when he has gone up to a steep mountain, he causes joy to the quadrupeds in the deep.
21 Lotus thingkung rahim vah a tabo teh, lungpum rahim hoi tuinawk dawk hai ouk ao.
He lies under trees of every kind, by the papyrus, and reed, and bulrush.
22 Lotus thingkung tâhlip ni a ngue awh, palang rai e sumpakungnaw ni a kalup.
And the great trees make a shadow over him with their branches, and [so do] the bushes of the field.
23 palang tui teh a len thai, hateiteh banglah noutna hoeh, apâhni totouh Jordan tui kalen nakunghai a lungmawng.
If there should be a flood, he will not perceive it; he trust that Jordan will rush up into his mouth.
24 A mit hoi a khet lahun nah, naphai do thai han namaw.
[Yet one] shall take him in his sight; [one] shall catch [him] with a cord, and pierce his nose.
