Job 4
1 Hahoi Teman tami Eliphaz ni ahni koe bout a dei e teh,
And Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,

If a word were essayed to thee, wouldest thou be grieved? But who can refrain from speaking?
3 Tami moikapap na cangkhai toe. Kut tha kaawm hoeh e tha na o sak.
Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands;
4 Na lawk ni karawmnaw hah a thaw sak teh, khokpakhu tha kaawm hoeh e tha ao sak.
Thy words have upholden him that was stumbling, and thou hast braced up the bending knees:
5 Hateiteh, atu nama koe a pha teh, na lung sut a pout. Na tek teh, na ngaihmang.
But now it is come upon thee, and thou grievest; it toucheth thee, and thou art troubled.
6 Na barilawa e hoi na kâuepkhai e nahoehmaw, kakuep e lamthung hah na ngaihawi e nahoehmaw.
Hath not thy piety been thy confidence, and the perfection of thy ways thy hope?
7 Atu pouk haw, kayonhoehe apimaw kahmakata boi vai. Hat hoehpawiteh, tamikalan hah nâmaw tâkhawng e lah ao boi.
Remember, I pray thee, who that was innocent has perished? and where were the upright cut off?
8 Kahmanae dawkvah payonpakainae, talai kanawk teh runae ka tu e ni doeh ouk a a.
Even as I have seen, they that plough iniquity and sow mischief, reap the same.
9 Cathut e kâha dawk a kahma awh teh, a lungkhueknae kâha dawk be a kak awh.
By the breath of God they perish, and by the blast of his nostrils are they consumed.
10 Sendek huk e pawlawk hoi, ka matheng poung e sendektan kanaw e a hâ hah a kâkhoe.
The roar of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken;
11 Ca hane ao hoeh dawkvah Sendek matawngnaw a kamlum teh, Sendek manu e a canaw teh koung kâkapek awh.
The old lion perisheth for lack of prey, and the whelps of the lioness are scattered.
12 Atu arulahoi kai koe lawk a pha teh, ka hnâ ni arulahoi pouk e hah a thai.
Now to me a word was secretly brought, and mine ear received a whisper thereof.
13 Karoumcalah a i awh lahun navah, karum vah vision hah pouk lahun navah,
In thoughts from visions of the night, when deep sleep falleth on men: —
14 Takinae hoi pâyawnae kai koe a pha. Ka hrunaw pueng koung kâhlehlawk sak e han,
Fear came on me, and trembling, and made all my bones to shake;
15 Hottelah muitha teh, ka hmalah a kâhlai teh, ka muen rueng a thaw.
And a spirit passed before my face — the hair of my flesh stood up —
16 Hote muitha hah a kangdue teh, ka kamnuek e hah kapek thai hoeh. Ka mithmu vah hno buet touh a kamnue, duem ao teh lawk hah ka thai.
It stood still; I could not discern the appearance thereof: a form was before mine eyes; I heard a slight murmur and a voice:
17 Ka dout thai e tami heh, Cathut hlak vah a lan thai maw, tami heh kasakkung hlak vah a thoung thai na maw.
Shall [mortal] man be more just than God? Shall a man be purer than his Maker?
18 A sannaw patenghai kâuepkhai hoeh niteh, kalvantaminaw hai na payon tet pouh pawiteh,
Lo, he trusteth not his servants, and his angels he chargeth with folly:
19 amhru im dawk kho ka sak niteh, a kungpui teh, vaiphu lah ao teh, ahnimanaw teh, khakbara ni patenghai a tâ thai e hah bangtelamaw hoe a yuem thai han.
How much more them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed as the moth!
20 Amon hoi tangmin totouh katipcalah a kâbawng teh, apinihai tek laipalah a yungyoe a kahma awh.
From morning to evening are they smitten: without any heeding it, they perish for ever.
21 Ahawi poungnae naw hai koung takhoe lah ao teh, lungangnae awm laipalah be a due awh telah atipouh.
Is not their tent-cord torn away in them? they die, and without wisdom.
