< Job 35 >
1 Hahoi Elihu ni a pathung e teh,
Moreover Elihu answered,
"Do you think this to be your right, or do you say, 'My righteousness is more than God's,'
That you ask, 'What advantage will it be to you? What profit shall I have, more than if I had sinned?'
4 Nama koe kaawm e naw hoi na pathung han.
I will answer you, and your companions with you.
5 Kalvan lah moung nateh khenhaw! khenhaw! nang hlak hoe ka rasang e tâmainaw hah,
Look to the heavens, and see. See the skies, which are higher than you.
6 Yonnae na sak pawiteh, ama taranlahoi bangmaw hoe na kuepcing sak, nahoeh pawiteh kâtapoenae hah pap pawiteh, ama hanelah bangmaw na sak,
If you have sinned, what effect do you have against him? If your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to him?
If you are righteous, what do you give him? Or what does he receive from your hand?
8 Na hawihoehnae ni nang patetlah kaawm e tami hah a ratet, na lannae ni tami capa buet touh a ratet.
Your wickedness may hurt a man as you are, and your righteousness may profit a son of man.
9 Hnephnap e a pap kecu dawkvah a hramki awh, athakaawme taminaw e rektapnae kecu dawkvah, kabawpnae a panki hoi a hram awh.
"By reason of the multitude of oppressions they cry out. They cry for help by reason of the arm of the mighty.
But none says, 'Where is God my Maker, who gives songs in the night,
who teaches us more than the animals of the earth, and makes us wiser than the birds of the sky?'
12 Tamikathoutnaw a kâoup kecu dawk, hawvah a hram awh ei, pathung awh hoeh.
There they cry, but none gives answer, because of the pride of evil men.
13 Banghai bang hoeh e lawk hah Cathut ni khoeroe thai mahoeh, Athakasaipounge, ni hai banglahai noutna mahoeh.
Surely God will not hear an empty cry, neither will Shaddai regard it.
How much less when you say you do not see him. The cause is before him, and you wait for him.
15 Bangkongtetpawiteh, atuvah a lungkhueknae dawk hoi na rek hoeh niteh, pathunae hnonaw pueng hah pâkuem hoeh.
But now, because he has not visited in his anger, neither does he greatly regard arrogance.
16 Hatdawkvah, Job ni a khuekhaw awm laipalah, a pahni a ang teh, panuenae laipalah lawk a pap sak.
Therefore Job opens his mouth with empty talk, and he multiplies words without knowledge."
