< Job 17 >

1 Ka hringnae hah a kâbawng teh, ka hninnaw hai aloum toe. Kai hanelah phuen hai coungkacoe lah ao toe.
I perish, carried away by the wind, and I seek for burial, and obtain [it] not.
2 Ka panuikhai e hah kai koe awm awh hoeh maw. Ka lung ka khuek sak e lawk ka mit a um nahoehmaw.
Weary I intreat; and what have I done? and strangers have stolen my goods.
3 Nama dueng lahoi kai hanelah, lawkkamnae hah sak, kut na ka man e teh api han namaw.
Who is this? let him join hands with me.
4 Bangkongtetpawiteh, panuethainae dawk hoi, a lungthin hah na hro. Hatdawkvah ahnimouh teh, na rasangsak mahoeh.
For thou hast hid their heart from wisdom; therefore thou shalt not exalt them.
5 A huiko koe dumnae hoi oupnae lawk ka dei e teh, a canaw e mit totouh a mawm han.
He shall promise mischief to [his] companions: but [their] eyes have failed for [their] children.
6 Hateiteh, tamimaya koe kâpankhai rumram hanelah na sak teh, ahnimae hmalah tamtui pathasin rumram hanelah ka o.
But thou has made me a byword amount the nations, and I am become a scorn to them.
7 Ka lungmathoenae kecu dawk ka mit totouh a mawm teh, ka takthai pueng heh tâhlip rumram la ao.
For my eyes are dimmed through pain; I have been grievously beset by all.
8 Tamikalannaw ni hetheh kângairu ati awh han, kayonhoehe taminaw ni cathutlaipa e taminaw a taran awh han.
Wonder has seized true men upon this; and let the just rise up against the transgressor.
9 Hateiteh, tamikalan ni a lamthung hah a kuet vaiteh, ka thoung e kut ka tawn e teh hoe a thao han.
But let the faithful hold on his own way, and let him that is pure of hands take courage.
10 Hateiteh, abuemlahoi pahren lahoi bout ban awh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, nangmouh thung dawkvah tamilungkaang ka hmawt pawm mahoeh.
Howbeit, do ye all strengthen [yourselves] and come now, for I do not find truth in you.
11 Ka hninnaw hai aloum toe. Ka lungthung hoi ka pouk teh, ka noe e naw hai ayawmyin lah doeh ao.
My days have passed in groaning, and my heart-strings are broken.
12 Tangmin hah kanîthun lah a kâthungsak teh, khohmo thung hai angnae a hnai toe ati awh.
I have turned the night into day: the light is short because of darkness.
13 Phuen hah ka im patetlah ka ring teh, hmonae thung vah ikhun ka sak pawiteh, (Sheol h7585)
For if I remain, Hades is my habitation: and my bed has been made in darkness. (Sheol h7585)
14 rawkphainae hah apa doeh ka ti teh, tangraet koe nang teh anu hoi ka tawncanu doeh ka tetpawiteh,
I have called upon death to be my father, and corruption [to be] my mother and sister.
15 ka ngaihawinae teh, nâ lah maw ao vai, ka ngaihawinae teh, apinimaw a hmu.
Where then is yet my hope? or [where] shall I see my good?
16 Duenae kho takhang koe lah, a kamleng awh vaiteh, vaiphu dawk rei ka kâhat han namaw, telah ati. (Sheol h7585)
Will they go down with me to Hades, or shall we go down together to the tomb? (Sheol h7585)
