< Job 11 >
1 Naamath tami Zophar ni a pathung e teh,
Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
Should not the multitude of words be answered? And should a man full of talk be justified?
Should thy boastings make men hold their peace? And when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?
4 Bangkongtetpawiteh, ka yuemnae teh a thoung. Na mithmu vah kathoung telah na ti.
For thou sayest, My doctrine is pure, And I am clean in thine eyes.
But oh that God would speak, And open his lips against thee,
And that he would show thee the secrets of wisdom! For he is manifold in understanding. Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.
7 Kadungpoung e Cathut e hno hah na pakhingpalang thai na maw, Athakasaipounge coungnae hah na tawng teh koung na hmuthai maw.
Canst thou by searching find out God? Canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?
(Sheol )
It is high as heaven; what canst thou do? Deeper than Sheol; what canst thou know? (Sheol )
9 A bangnuenae teh, talai hlak hai asaw. Tuipui hlak hai hoe akaw.
The measure thereof is longer than the earth, And broader than the sea.
10 A man teh thongim dawk paung hoi lawkceng hanelah pâkhueng pawiteh, apinimaw ahni teh a rungngang thai han.
If he pass through, and shut up, And call unto judgment, then who can hinder him?
11 Bangkongtetpawiteh, huenghai ao a e hah a panue, thoe sak e hai a hmu. Ama ni pouk laipalah maw ao han.
For he knoweth false men: He seeth iniquity also, even though he consider it not.
12 Bangkongtetpawiteh, kahrawng e laca patetlah tami a khe torei teh, tamipathu teh a lungang han.
But vain man is void of understanding, Yea, man is born [as] a wild ass’s colt.
13 Na lungthin hah kârakueng nateh Cathut koe na kut dâw haw.
If thou set thy heart aright, And stretch out thy hands toward him;
14 Na kut dawk na payonpakai e awm boipawiteh, ahlanae koe tâkhawng haw. Kathoute hah na im dawk awm hanh seh.
If iniquity be in thy hand, put it far away, And let not unrighteousness dwell in thy tents.
15 Hottelah tounnae awm laipalah, na minhmai hah a kamnue han doeh. Kacakcalah na o vaiteh, na taket mahoeh.
Surely then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; Yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:
16 Bangkongtetpawiteh, na rucatnae hah na pahnim vaiteh, poun ka lawng e tui patetlah pahnim hanh.
For thou shalt forget thy misery; Thou shalt remember it as waters that are passed away,
And [thy] life shall be clearer than the noonday; Though there be darkness, it shall be as the morning.
18 Karoumcalah na o han, bangkongtetpawiteh, ngaihawinae ao. Na tengpam e hno na sung nakunghai karoumcalah na kâhat han.
And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; Yea, thou shalt search [about thee], and shalt take thy rest in safety.
19 Na i vaiteh, apinihai tâsuenae na poe mahoeh, tami moikapap ni nang koe a kâhei awh han.
Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; Yea, many shall make suit unto thee.
20 Hateiteh, tamikathoutnaw e mit teh, dawn vaiteh, hlout awh mahoeh. A ngaihawi awh e hringnae teh a sung awh han telah a ti.
But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, And they shall have no way to flee; And their hope shall be the giving up of the ghost.
