< Jeremiah 47 >
1 Faro ni Gaza a tuk hoehnahlan e Filistinnaw e kong dawk, Profet Jeremiah koe BAWIPA e lawk teh a pha.
The word of Jehovah which came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the Philistines, before Pharaoh had smitten Gaza.
2 Atunglah hoi tui kalen teh a lawng han. Ka poum lah a lawng vaiteh, ram hoi a thung kaawm e naw pueng heh a muem han. Khopui hoi athung kaawm e taminaw pueng a khuika awh vaiteh, ram thung kaawm e taminaw pueng a kâhram awh han.
Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, waters rise up out of the North, And they shall become an overflowing torrent, And shall overflow the land, and all that is therein, —The city, and them that dwell therein; And the men shall cry aloud, And all the inhabitants of the land shall wail.
3 A thakasai marang ka yawng thai e hoi tarantuknae rangleng ka sawm e hoi leng a tuen sak e pawlawk dawk napanaw ni a canaw khet mang laipalah a yawng awh han.
At the noise of the stamping of the horses, At the rattling of his chariots, And at the rumbling of his wheels, Fathers look not back for their children, For feebleness of hands,
4 Filistin taminaw raphoenae hnin, Taire hoi Sidon koehoi kabawmkung kaawm rae raphoenae hnin teh a pha vaiteh, bangkongtetpawiteh, BAWIPA ni kacawie Kaphtor ram koehoi ka tho e Filistinnaw hah a raphoe han.
Because of the day which cometh, To lay waste all the Philistines, To cut off from Tyre and from Sidon Every helper that remaineth. For Jehovah will lay waste the Philistines, The remnant of the country of Caphtor.
5 Gaza taminaw e lû a ngaw pouh han. Askelon teh a pâmit han. A ram tanghling dawk kacawirae hah, bangkongmaw namahoima na kâbouk han.
Baldness is come upon Gaza, Askelon is in ruins, And the remnant of their valley! How long wilt thou cut thyself?
6 Oe! BAWIPA e tahloi na totouh maw duem na o han. Na tabu dawk kâen nateh duem awmh.
Ah! sword of Jehovah, How long ere thou wilt be quiet? Retire into thy scabbard, Rest, and be still!
7 BAWIPA ni Askelon hoi tuipui teng e ram taranlahoi kâ na poe e na thai nahlangva bangkongmaw duem ao thai han. Hawvah kâroe hanelah hruek e doeh telah ati.
But how canst thou be at rest, Since Jehovah hath given thee a charge against Askelon, And against the coast of the sea? There hath he appointed it.
