Jeremiah 29
1 Profet Jeremiah ni Jerusalem vah san lah kaawm rae kacuenaw, vaihma hoi profet, Nebukhadnezar ni Jerusalem hoi Babilon lah a ceikhai e naw thung dawk hoi kaawm rae naw koe ca a patawn e teh,
Now these are the wordes of the booke that Ieremiah the Prophet sent from Ierusalem vnto the residue of the Elders which were caryed away captiues, and to the Priestes, and to the Prophets, and to all the people whome Nebuchad-nezzar had caried away captiue from Ierusalem to Babel:
2 siangpahrang Jekoniah hoi siangpahrangnu, tuenlanaw, Judah tami, Jerusalem kaukkung, kutsakkathoumnaw hoi sumdeinaw ni Jerusalem a tâco takhai awh hnukkhu.
(After that Ieconiah the King, and the Queene, and the eunuches, the princes of Iudah, and of Ierusalem, and the workemen, and cunning men were departed from Ierusalem)
3 Saphan capa Eleasah hoi Hilkiah capa Gemariah tinaw e kut dawk a patawn. Hotnaw teh Judah siangpahrang Hezekiah ni Babilon ram lah Babilon siangpahrang Nebukhadnezar koe a patoun e naw doeh.
By the hand of Elasah the sonne of Shaphan and Gemariah the sonne of Hilkiah, (whom Zedekiah King of Iudah sent vnto Babel to Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel) saying,
4 Ransahu BAWIPA, Isarel Cathut ni san lah ceikhai e naw pueng, Jerusalem hoi Babilon lah san lah a ceisak e naw pueng koe hettelah a dei.
Thus hath the Lord of hostes the God of Israel spoken vnto all that are caryed away captiues, whome I haue caused to be caryed away captiues from Ierusalem vnto Babel:
5 Im sak awh nateh haw vah khosak awh. Takha sak awh nateh a pawnaw cat awh.
Buylde you houses to dwell in, and plant you gardens, and eate the fruites of them.
6 Yu lat awh nateh canunaw capanaw tawn awh. Hottelah canu capa tawn thai nahanlah na capanaw hanlah yu paluen pouh awh, haw vah takangnae awm laipalah pungdaw awh.
Take you wiues, and beget sonnes and daughters, and take wiues for your sonnes, and giue your daughters to husbands, that they may beare sonnes and daughters, that ye may bee increased there, and not diminished.
7 San lah na osaknae khopui hanelah roumnae tawng awh nateh BAWIPA koe het awh. Bangkongtetpawiteh roumnae koe roumnae na hmu awh han.
And seeke the prosperitie of the citie, whither I haue caused you to be caried away captiues, and pray vnto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall you haue peace.
8 Ransahu BAWIPA, Isarel Cathut ni hettelah a dei, nangmouh thung e profetnaw hoi camkathoumnaw ni na dumyen hanh naseh. mangkamangnaw yuem pouh hanh awh.
For thus saith the Lord of hostes the God of Israel, Let not your prophets, and your southsayers that bee among you, deceiue you, neither giue eare to your dreames, which you dreame.
9 Bangkongtetpawiteh, kaie min hno lahoi laithoe a dei awh, kai ni ka patounnaw nahoeh, telah BAWIPA ni a dei.
For they prophecie you a lie in my Name: I haue not sent them, saith the Lord.
10 Bangkongtetpawiteh, BAWIPA ni hettelah a dei, Babilon teh kum 70 touh akuep toteh ka hloe vaiteh, nangmouh koevah kahawi e ka lawk kakuep sak vaiteh hete hmuen koe boutbout na bankhai awh han.
But thus saith the Lord, That after seuentie yeeres be accomplished at Babel, I will visite you, and performe my good promise toward you, and cause you to returne to this place.
11 Bangkongtetpawiteh, nangmae kong dawk ka lungpouk teh ka panue. Nangmouh ngaihawinae apout toteh ngaihawinae poe hane hawihoehnae laipalah hawinae koe lah doeh ka pouk, teh lah BAWIPA ni a dei.
For I knowe the thoughtes, that I haue thought towards you, saith the Lord, euen the thoughtes of peace, and not of trouble, to giue you an ende, and your hope.
12 Hattoteh nangmouh ni kai na tawng awh han, na tho awh vaiteh kai koe na ratoum awh vaiteh kai ni na thai pouh han.
Then shall you crie vnto mee, and ye shall go and pray vnto me, and I will heare you,
13 Nangmouh ni kai na tawng awh vaiteh na lungthin buemlah hoi na tawng awh toteh na hmu awh han.
And ye shall seeke mee and finde mee, because ye shall seeke mee with all your heart.
14 Na hmu awh e lah ka o han, telah BAWIPA ni dei. San lah na o awh hmuen koehoi na bankhai awh han, miphun tangkuem dawk na kâkaheisaknae hmuen koehoi na pâkhueng awh han, telah BAWIPA ni a dei. San lah na mansaknae hmuen koe roeroe vah na hrawi han.
And I wil be found of you, saith the Lord, and I will turne away your captiuitie, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places, whither I haue cast you, saith the Lord, and will bring you againe vnto the place, whence I caused you to be caryed away captiue.
15 Bangkongtetpawiteh, BAWIPA ni Babilon ram dawk hai profet na ta pouh telah na ti awh.
Because ye haue sayd, The Lord hath raised vs vp Prophets in Babel,
16 Hatdawkvah, BAWIPA ni Devit bawitungkhung dawk ka tahung e siangpahrang e kong hoi hete khopui dawk kho ka sak e taminaw kong hoi san lah hrawi hoeh e na hmaunawnghanaw e kong dawk hettelah a dei.
Therefore thus saith the Lord of the King, that sitteth vpon the throne of Dauid, and of all the people, that dwell in this citie, your brethren that are not gone forth with you into captiuitie:
17 Ransabawi, BAWIPA ni hettelah a dei. Khenhaw! ahnimae lathueng vah tahloi, takang hoi lacik ka pha sak vaiteh, thaibunglung paw ca han kahawihoehe patetlah ka coungsak han.
Euen thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Beholde, I will sende vpon them the sworde, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like vile figges, that cannot bee eaten, they are so naughtie.
18 Hahoi tahloi, takang lacik hoi ka pâlei awh han. Ahnimouh ru sak hanelah tailai uknaeram pueng koe ka poe han, ahnimouh koe ka patawnnae miphunnaw e rahak vah thoebo e tami, kângairu e, pacekpahlek e, hoi dudam e taminaw lah ka o sak han.
And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence: and I will make them a terror to all kingdomes of the earth, and a curse, and astonishment and an hissing, and a reproche among all the nations whither I haue cast them,
19 Bangkongtetpawiteh, ahnimouh koe ka patoun e ka san profetnaw hno lahoi ka lawk banglahai ngâi awh hoeh, telah BAWIPA ni ati. Amom ka thaw teh ka pâtam ei na thai ngai kalawn awh hoeh, telah BAWIPA ni ati.
Because they haue not hearde my words, saith the Lord, which I sent vnto them by my seruantes the Prophetes, rising vp earely, and sending them, but yee woulde not heare, saith the Lord.
20 Hatdawkvah, nangmouh Jerusalem hoi Babilon lah ka patoun teh san lah kaawmnaw pueng, BAWIPA e lawk thai awh haw.
Heare ye therefore the word of the Lord all ye of the captiuitie, whome I haue sent from Ierusalem to Babel.
21 Ransahu BAWIPA, Isarel Cathut ni Kolaiah capa Ahab hoi Maaseiah capa Zedekiah e min lahoi nangmouh koe laithoe ka dei e kong dawk hettelah a dei. Khenhaw! Babilon siangpahrang Nebukhadnezar e kut dawk ka poe vaiteh nangmae mithmu roeroe vah a man awh han.
Thus saith the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, of Ahab the sonne of Kolaiah, and of Zedekiah the sonne of Maaseiah, which prophecie lyes vnto you in my Name, Beholde, I will deliuer them into the hande of Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel, and he shall slay them before your eyes.
22 Ahnimae kong dawk, Babilon ram e Judah tami san lah kaawmnaw pueng ni, Babilon siangpahrang ni hmai dawk pâeng e Zedekiah hoi Ahab patetlah BAWIPA ni nangmae lathueng vah sak naseh, tie thoebonae lawk dawk, a pâkuem awh han.
And al they of the captiuitie of Iudah, that are in Babel, shall take vp this curse against them, and say, The Lord make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whome the King of Babel burnt in the fire,
23 Bangkongtetpawiteh, Isarel ram dawk hnokathout a sak awh teh, a imri e yu koe a uicuk awh teh kaie min hno laihoi kâ ka poe hoeh e laithoe lawknaw a dei awh. Kai kama doeh kapanuekkung hoi kapanuekkhaikung lah ka o, telah BAWIPA ni ati.
Because they haue committed vilenie in Israel, and haue committed adulterie with their neighbours wiues, and haue spoken lying words in my Name, which I haue not commanded them, euen I knowe it, and testifie it, saith the Lord.
24 Nehelam tami Shemaiah kong dawk hai nang ni hettelah na dei han.
Thou shalt also speake to Shemaiah the Nehelamite, saying,
25 Isarel Cathut, ransahu BAWIPA ni hettelah a dei, Jerusalem e taminaw pueng koe hai thoseh, nang namae min roeroe lahoi ca na patawn, tet pouh.
Thus speaketh the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, saying, Because thou hast sent letters in thy Name vnto all the people, that are at Ierusalem, and to Zephaniah the sonne of Maaseiah the Priest, and to all the Priests, saying,
26 Tamipathunaw hoi profet lah kakâsaknaw pueng thongim thung na paung teh hlawngbuet sak hanelah BAWIPA ni vaihma Jehoiada e yueng lah vaihma lah na o sak teh, BAWIPA e im khenyawnkung lah na o.
The Lord hath made thee Priest for Iehoiada the Priest, that yee should bee officers in the House of the Lord, for euery man that raueth and maketh himselfe a Prophet, to put him in prison and in the stockes.
27 Hatdawkvah, bangkongmaw Anathoth tami Jeremiah nang koevah profet ka kâtet e na yue hoeh.
Nowe therefore why hast not thou reproued Ieremiah of Anathoth, which prophecieth vnto you?
28 Bangkongtetpawiteh, Babilon vah kai koevah ca na patawn teh santoungnae teh asaw han rah, im sak awh, haw vah khosak awh, takhanaw sak awh nateh, a pawnaw cat awh telah ati.
For, for this cause hee sent vnto vs in Babel, saying, This captiuitie is long: buyld houses to dwell in, and plant gardens, and eate the fruites of them.
29 Hahoi vaihma Zephaniah ni hote ca teh profet Jeremiah thainae koe a touk.
And Zephaniah the Priest red this letter in the eares of Ieremiah the Prophet.
30 Hahoi, Jeremiah koe BAWIPA e lawk a pha.
Then came the worde of the Lord vnto Ieremiah, saying,
31 Sankatoungnaw pueng koe Nehelam tami Shemaiah kong dawk BAWIPA ni hettelah a dei, kai ni ka patoun hoeh e Shemaiah ni nang koe lawk a dei telah laithoe lawknaw na yuem sak awh.
Send to all them of the captiuitie, saying, Thus saith the Lord of Shemaiah the Nehelamite, Because that Shemaiah hath prophecied vnto you, and I sent him not, and hee caused you to trust in a lye,
32 Hatdawkvah, BAWIPA ni hettelah a dei. Khenhaw! Nehelam tami Shemaiah hoi a imthungnaw ka rek han. Hete hmuen koe khokasaknaw rahak vah tami buet touh hai tawn mahoeh. Ka taminaw hanlah ka sak hane hnokahawi hah hmawt van mahoeh. Bangkongtetpawiteh BAWIPA taranlahoi taranthawnae a cangkhai.
Therefore thus saieth the Lord, Behold, I wil visite Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seede: hee shall not haue a man to dwell among this people, neither shall he beholde the good, that I will doe for my people, sayth the Lord, because he hath spoken rebelliously against the Lord.
