< Jeremiah 24 >

1 Babilon siangpahrang Nebukhadnezar ni, Judah siangpahrang Jekoniah, Jehoiakim capa, Judah kahrawikung, kutsakthoumnaw hoi sumdeithoumnaw hoi Jerusalem hoi Babilon lah a ceikhai awh hnukkhu, BAWIPA ni a pâtue teh, khenhaw! thaibunglung paw bom kahni touh heh BAWIPA e bawkim e hmalah a pâhung awh.
Yahweh shewed me, and lo! two baskets of figs, which had been set before the temple of Yahweh, —after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive, Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim king of Judah and the princes of Judah and the carpenters and the smiths out of Jerusalem, and had brought them into Babylon: —
2 A bom buet touh dawk thaibunglung paw kahawipoung e, thaibunglung paw ka hmin pasuek e patet e hah ao. A bom alouk lae dawk teh, thaibunglung paw kahawihoehe ca hanelah kamcu hoeh totouh kahawihoehe hah ao.
the one basket, was of very good figs, like the first-ripe figs; and, the other basket, was of very bad figs, which could not be eaten for badness.
3 BAWIPA ni kai koevah, bangne na hmu, Jeremiah telah ati. Kai ni thaibunglung paw kahawipoung e hoi kahawihoehe cakawi hoeh e telah ka ti.
Then said Yahweh unto me, —What canst thou see, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs: the good figs, very good; and the bad, very bad, which cannot be eaten, for badness.
4 BAWIPA e lawk hah kai koe a pha teh,
Then came the word of Yahweh unto me, saying:
5 BAWIPA Isarel Cathut ni hettelah a dei, san ka toung e Judahnaw, Khaldean ram dawk ahawi awh nahanelah ka patoun e naw hah hete kahawi e thaibunglung paw patetlah ka khet han.
Thus, saith Yahweh God of Israel, Like these good figs, so, will I regard them of Judah who are carried into captivity, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans, for good.
Therefore will I set mine eye upon them for good, and will bring them back upon this land, —and will build them up, and not pull them down, and will plant them and not root them up;
7 BAWIPA lah ka o thainae panuethainae lungthin hah ka poe han. Ka tami lah ao awh vaiteh, ahnimae Cathut lah ka o han. Bangkongtetpawiteh, a lungthin abuemlahoi kai koe bout a ban awh han.
and will give them a heart to know, me, that, I, am Yahweh, So shall they become my people, And, I, will become their God; for they will return unto me with all their heart.
8 BAWIPA ni hettelah a dei, thaibunglung paw kahawihoeh e, ca han kamcu hoeh totouh kahawihoehe patetlah Judah siangpahrang Zedekiah hoi kahrawikungnaw hoi Jerusalem e kacawirae hete ram dawk kaawmnaw hoi Izip dawk kho ka sak e hah ka hnamthun takhai roeroe han.
And like the bad figs, which cannot be eaten for badness, Surely thus, saith Yahweh—so, will I deliver up Zedekiah king of Judah, and his princes and the remnant of Jerusalem that remain in this land, and them who are dwelling in the land of Egypt;
9 Ka rucat poung lahoi talai uknaeram tangkuem dawk dudam hane ka hreknae ram pueng koe pahnawt, pacekpahlek, yue han hoi thoebo e lah ao nahanlah ka poe han.
yea I will deliver them up, as a terror of calamity, to all the kingdoms of the earth, —as a reproach and as a byword, as a mockery and as a contempt, in every place whither I will drive them;
10 Amamouh hoi a mintoenaw koevah, ka poe e ram thung hoi a thup awh totouh, ahnimouh koe tahloi, takang, hoi lacik ka patoun han telah BAWIPA ni ati.
and I will send among them, sword famine and pestilence, —until they are consumed from off the soil which I gave to them and to their fathers.
