Jeremiah 16
1 Hathnukkhu, BAWIPA e lawk kai koe a pha teh,
The word of Yhwh came also unto me, saying,
2 yu na lat mahoeh, hete hmuen koevah, canaw na tawn mahoeh.
Thou shalt not take thee a wife, neither shalt thou have sons or daughters in this place.
3 Hete hmuen koe khe e canaw hoi a manu na pa kong dawk BAWIPA ni hettelah a dei,
For thus saith Yhwh concerning the sons and concerning the daughters that are born in this place, and concerning their mothers that bare them, and concerning their fathers that begat them in this land;
4 ahnimanaw teh Lacik hoi a due awh han, Hotnaw hah apinihai kapkhai mahoeh, pakawm mahoeh, vaipuen talai dawk eitaboung patetlah a yan awh han. Tahloi hoi takangnae hoi a due awh han. Ahnimae ronaw teh kalvan e tava hoi moithangnaw hane rawca lah ao han.
They shall die of grievous deaths; they shall not be lamented; neither shall they be buried; but they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcases shall be meat for the fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.
5 Bangkongtetpawiteh, BAWIPA ni hettelah a dei, ro im cet hanh, lungpahawi hanelah hai cet hanh, ama hai khui hanh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, hete taminaw koehoi lungmawngnae, pahrennae lungmanae he ka la pouh toe telah BAWIPA ni a dei.
For thus saith Yhwh, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament nor bemoan them: for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith Yhwh, even lovingkindness and mercies.
6 Hete ram dawk tami kalen kathoung hai a due awh han. Apinihai pakawm mahoeh, apinihai khui mahoeh. Apinihai a mahoima kâbouk mahoeh, a sam hai ngaw mahoeh.
Both the great and the small shall die in this land: they shall not be buried, neither shall men lament for them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them:
7 Ro karingkungnaw hoi kapakawpnaw lungpahawi hanelah rawca apinihai thak pouh mahoeh. Ka dout e a na pa hoi a manu han patenghai thak pouh mahoeh. Ahnimouh lungpahawi hanelah apinihai tui boehai poe mahoeh.
Neither shall men tear themselves for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother.
8 Hatdawkvah, caneinae im dawk kâen hanh, ahnimouh hoi cungtalah tahung hanh, cat hanh.
Thou shalt not also go into the house of feasting, to sit with them to eat and to drink.
9 Bangkongtetpawiteh, ransahu BAWIPA Isarel Cathut ni hettelah a dei, nangmouh mithmu hoi na hring na thung vah lunghawilawknaw hah ka roum sak vaiteh, yuvâ kâpaluennae lawk hai hete hmuen koe ka roum sak han.
For thus saith Yhwh of Armies, the God of Israel; Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride.
10 Hete lawknaw pueng hah hete taminaw koevah na dei pouh navah hotnaw ni, bangmaw BAWIPA ni hettelah totouh kahawihoeh poung e hno hah a dei vai. Bang hno maw sakpayon awh, BAWIPA kaimae Cathut koe vah bang yonnae maw ka sak awh, tet awh pawiteh,
And it shall come to pass, when thou shalt shew this people all these words, and they shall say unto thee, Wherefore hath Yhwh pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against Yhwh our God?
11 hettelah na dei pouh han, na mintoenaw ni kai na hnoun awh teh, alouke cathutnaw hnuk a kâbang awh teh, ahnimae thaw a tawk pouh awh. Kai na hnoun awh teh, kaie kâlawk hai tarawi awh hoeh.
Then shalt thou say unto them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, saith Yhwh, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshipped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law;
12 Nangmouh hai na mintoenaw hlak hoe na thoe hnawn awh. Khenhaw! kaie lawk ngai laipalah tami pueng ni amamae lungpouk patetlah koung a cei awh.
And ye have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, ye walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may not hearken unto me:
13 Hatdawkvah, kai ni hete ram thung hoi nangmouh hoi na mintoenaw ni na panue boihoeh e ram koe lah na pâlei awh han, hote hmuen koe vah karum khodai alouke cathutnaw e thaw na tawk awh han. Kai ni nangmouh hah na pasai awh mahoeh.
Therefore will I cast you out of this land into a land that ye know not, neither ye nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve other gods day and night; where I will not shew you favour.
14 Hatei, Isarel taminaw Izip ram hoi na kahrawikung, BAWIPA teh a hring dawkvah telah taminaw ni a dei awh hoeh nahanelah, a hnin teh a pha lahun, telah BAWIPA ni a ti.
Therefore, behold, the days come, saith Yhwh, that it shall no more be said, Yhwh liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
15 Hatei taminaw ni, atunglae ram hoi ahnimouh a hreknae ramnaw pueng thung hoi Isarelnaw kahrawikung BAWIPA teh a hring tangngak dawkvah ati awh han. Ahnimouh teh kai ni a na mintoenaw koevah, ka poe e ram thung bout ka o sak awh han, telah BAWIPA ni a dei.
But, Yhwh liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers.
16 Hatei, atu teh tangakamankungnaw moikapap ka kaw vaiteh, ahnimouh ni a man awh han. Hahoi kai ni moi ka kathoumnaw moikapap ka kaw vaiteh, monrui hoi montam hoi talungkâko totouh a ka awh han.
Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith Yhwh, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.
17 Ahnimae lamthung pueng hah ka mit ni pheng a hmu, kai koe hoi kâhrawk thai awh mahoeh, ahnimae yonnae hai ka mithmu hoi hro thai lah awm mahoeh.
For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes.
18 Amamae thoenae hoi yonnae dawkvah, let hni hoi ka pathung han, ahnimouh ni ka ram hah panuettho e ro hoi a kamhnawng sak awh teh, panuetthonae ni ka coe e ram dawk a kawi sak telah BAWIPA ni a ti.
And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled my land, they have filled mine inheritance with the carcases of their detestable and abominable things.
19 Oe BAWIPA ka thaonae hoi ka rapan, kângairu nah kângue e hoi talai apoutnae koehoi Jentelnaw nang koe a tho awh han. Mintoenaw ni laithoe, cungkeihoehe hno, ayawmyin hno hoeh laipalah banghai a pang awh hane râw awm hoeh.
O Yhwh, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.
20 Tami ni ama hanlah cathut lah kaawm hoeh e cathut hah a sak han na maw.
Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods?
21 Hatdawkvah, kai ni hotnaw hah ka panue sak han. Ka kut hoi hnotithainae ka panue sak vaiteh, ka min hah Jehovah doeh tie a panue awh han.
Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is Yhwh.
