And it came to pass in the days of Achaz [the son] of Joatham, the son of Ozias, king of Juda, there came up Rasim king of Aram, and Phakee son of Romelias, king of Israel, against Jerusalem to war against it, but they could not take it.

And a message was brought to the house of David, saying, Aram has conspired with Ephraim. And his soul was amazed, and the soul of his people, as in a wood a tree is moved by the wind.
3 Hat toteh, BAWIPA ni Isaiah koe lawk a dei pouh e teh, nang hoi na capa Shear-Jashub hoi rei cet roi nateh, kapâsukung e laikawk teng ceinae lam, atunglae tuikhu teng vah, Ahaz siangpahrang hah dawn nateh, na kâhmo toteh na dei pouh hane teh,
And the Lord said to Esaias, Go forth to meet Achaz, thou, and thy son Jasub who is left, to the pool of the upper way of the fuller's field.
4 Kâhruetcuet nateh, lawkkamuem lah awmh. Taket hanh. Hmai sungsung ka khu e hete thingtu kahni touh tie Siria siangpahrang Rezin hoi Remaliah capa tinaw teh a lung puenghoi ka khuek nakunghai, na lungpuen hanh.
And thou shalt say to him, Take care to be quiet, and fear not, neither let thy soul be disheartened because of these two smoking firebrands: for when my fierce anger is over, I will heal again.
5 Siria ram, Ephraim ram, Remaliah capanaw ni, maimouh ni Judah ram lah cei awh vaiteh, peng kayei awh sei,
And [as for] the son of Aram, and the son of Romelias, forasmuch as they have devised an evil counsel, [saying],
6 ram lungui vah Tabeel capa hah siangpahrang lah tat awh sei, telah nange a vang lah kahawihoehe pouknae hoi a kâcai awh
We will go up against Judea, and having conferred with them we will turn them away to our side, and we will make the son of Tabeel king of it;
7 Hatei, Bawipa Jehovah ni, hottelah kangcoung mahoeh, hottelah tho mahoeh ati.
thus saith the Lord of hosts, This counsel shall not abide, nor come to pass.
8 Siria ram e lû teh Damaskas kho, Damaskas kho e lû teh Rezin, kum 65 touh thung Ephraim teh ram lah ao hoeh nahanelah, a raphoe han.
But the head of Aram is Damascus, and the head of Damascus, Rasim; and yet within sixty and five years the kingdom of Ephraim shall cease from [being] a people.
9 Ephraim e lû teh Samaria, Samaria e lû teh Remaliah capa doeh. Na yuem awh hoehpawiteh, na kangdout katang awh mahoeh atipouh.
And the head of Ephraim is Somoron, and the head of Somoron the son of Romelias: but if ye believe not, neither will ye at all understand.
10 Hahoi, BAWIPA na Cathut koe mitnoutnae hah het haw.
And the Lord again spoke to Achaz, saying,
11 Adungnae koehai thoseh, a rasangnae hmuen koehai thoseh, kâhet haw telah BAWIPA Cathut ni Ahaz koe atipouh. (Sheol h7585)
Ask for thyself a sign of the Lord thy God, in the depth or in the height. (Sheol h7585)
12 Hatei, Ahaz ni ka kâhet mahoeh. BAWIPA hai ka tanouk mahoeh atipouh.
And Achaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the Lord.
13 Hat toteh, Isaiah ni Oe Devit imthungnaw, thai awh haw. Nangmouh ni tami na hnueai sak dueng laipalah, kai ni ka bawk e Cathut hai na hnueai sak awh han namaw.
And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; is it a little thing for you to contend with men? and how do ye contend against the Lord?
14 Hatdawkvah, BAWIPA ma ni nangmanaw hah mitnout na poe awh han. Khenhaw! Tanglakacuem buet touh ni capa vawn vaiteh, ca tongpa a khe han. Hote capa hah Immanuel telah a min phung han.
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; behold, a virgin shall conceive in the womb, and shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Emmanuel.
15 Ahni ni, kahawihoehe hah a takhoe teh, kahawi e hah a rawi thai totouh, sanutui pakak e hoi khoitui hah a ca han.
Butter and honey shall he eat, before he knows either to prefer evil [or] choose the good.
16 Hote camo ni, kahawihoehe a takhoe teh kahawi e a rawi thai hoehnahlan nang ni na taki e siangpahrang kahni touh ni, a uknaeram teh pahnawt e ram lah ao han.
For before the child shall know good or evil, he refuses evil, to choose the good; and the land shall be forsaken which thou art afraid of because of the two kings.
17 Ephraim ni Judah koehoi a tâco takhai hnin hoiyah, kaawm boihoeh e hnin hah nange lathueng hai thoseh, na imthungnaw lathueng hai thoseh, BAWIPA ni a Assiria siangpahrang a tho khai han.
But God shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon the house of thy father, days which have never come, from the day that Ephraim took away from Juda the king of the Assyrians.
18 Hote hnin navah, Izip sawkcanaw dawk e bitseinaw hai thoseh, Assiria ram e khoinaw hai thoseh, BAWIPA ni a hroecoe han.
And it shall come to pass in that day that the Lord shall hiss for the flies, which [insect] shall rule over a part of the river of Egypt, and for the bee which is in the land of the Assyrians.
19 Hotnaw tho awh vaiteh, tami kingdinae koe ravonaw, lungha lungngoumnaw, buruknaw, saring ni canei e ramnaw pueng dawk king akawi awh han.
And they all shall enter into the clefts of the land, and into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves, and into every ravine.
20 Hat hnin vah, palangpui namran lah kaawm e hlai e Assiria siangpahrang pataca hoi, na sam hoi na khokmuen hah BAWIPA ni na ngaw pouh han. Na pâkhamuen hai na ngaw pouh han.
In that day the Lord shall shave with the hired razor of the king of Assyria beyond the river the head, and the hairs of the feet, and will remove the beard.
21 Hat hnin vah, tami buet touh ni maito buet touh, tu kahni touh paca pawiteh,
And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] a man shall rear a heifer, and two sheep.
22 sanutui buem pouh vaiteh, sanutui pakak e a ca han. Ram dawk ka cawi rae pueng ni sanutui pakak e hoi khoitui a ca awh han.
And it shall come to pass from their drinking an abundance of milk, [that] every one that is left on the land shall eat butter and honey.
23 Hatnavah, misurkung 1,000 touh ka tawn niteh, tangka 1,000 touh ka phu e misur takha pueng haiyah, pâkhing hoi akawi han.
And it shall come to pass in that day, [for] every place where there shall be a thousand vines at a thousand shekels, they shall become barren land and thorns.
24 Licung hoi pala patuem awh vaiteh, hete hmuen koe a cei awh han. Talaivan pueng pâkhing hoi akawi han.
[Men] shall enter thither with arrow and bow; for all the land shall be [barren] ground and thorns.
25 Tokso hoi tai teh vu e law pueng hai, pâkhing kecu apinihai a cei ngai hoeh dawkvah, maito pânae, tunaw ni coungroenae lah ao han.
And every mountain shall be certainly ploughed: there shall no fear come thither: for there shall be from [among] the [barren] ground and thorns that whereon cattle shall feed and oxen shall tread.
