< Isaiah 59 >

1 Khenhaw! BAWIPA e kut teh rungngang thai hoeh han totouh duem hoeh. Thai thai hoeh nahan totouh a hnâpang hoeh.
Lo! the hand of Yahweh is not too short to save, —Neither is his ear too heavy to hear.
2 Hatei, namamae payonnae ni na Cathut koehoi na kapek awh teh, a thai hoeh nahanelah na hawi awh hoeh nae ni a minhmai hah nangmouh koehoi a hro toe.
But, your iniquities, have become separators betwixt you and your God, And your sins, have caused a hiding of face from you that he should-not hear.
For, your hands, are defiled with blood, And, your fingers, with iniquity, —Your lips, have spoken falsehood, and Your tongue, muttereth, perversity.
4 Kângingnae hah apinihai tawng awh hoeh. Lawkkatang hah tarawi awh hoeh. Ayawmyin e lawk hah a kâuep awh teh, laithoe lawk doeh ouk a dei awh. Thoenae hah a vawn awh teh, payonnae hah a khe awh.
None, sueth in righteousness, and None, pleadeth in faithfulness, —Men are trusting in confusion, And speaking vanity, Conceiving wickedness And bringing forth iniquity:
5 Tahrun tadui hah a awt awh teh, Bombarui hah a kawng awh. A taduinaw kacate teh a due. A tadui a kâkhei teh tahrun lah a tâco.
Viper’s eggs, do they hatch, Spider’s threads, do they weave, —He that eateth of their eggs, dieth, And, that which is crushed, bringeth forth an adder;
6 A kawng awh e bombarui teh, khohna lah kangcoung pouh hoeh. A kawng awh e hni hah kâkhu awh mahoeh. A sak awh e hno hah kahawihoehe hoi a sak awh dawkvah, a kut dawk thamanae ao.
Their threads, shall not become a garment, Neither shall they cover themselves with their fabrics, —Their fabrics, are fabrics of iniquity, Yea the product of violence is in their hands;
7 A khoknaw teh thoenae saknae koe a yawng awh teh, yonnae ka tawn hoeh e tami thipalawngnae koe a hue a rang awh. A pouknae hai kahawihoehe pouknae doeh. A ceinae lamthung hai rucatnae hoi rawknae lamthung lah doeh ao.
Their feet, to mischief, do run, And they speed to shed innocent blood, —Their devices, are devices of iniquity, Wasting and destruction, are in their high roads;
8 Roumnae lamthung panuek awh hoeh. Ahnimae lamthung dawk kângingnae awm hoeh. A cei awh nahan lamlongkawinaw a sak awh teh, kadawnnaw pueng ni roumnae hmawt awh mahoeh.
the way of well-being, have they not known, And there is no justice in their tracks, —Their paths, have they made crooked for themselves, None who treadeth therein knoweth well—being.
9 Hatdawkvah, kângingnae teh maimouh koehoi kahlatpoung lah ao teh, lannae ni hai na phat boi awh hoeh toe. Angnae hah ka ring awh, hatei, haw vah hmonae teh ao. Ka ring awh e teh angnae eiteh, kahmawt poung e koe doeh cei awh.
For this cause, hath justice removed far from us, And righteousness overtaketh us not, —We wait for light, But lo! darkness, For brightness, In thick darkness, we walk:
10 Mit ka dawn e patetlah tapang thupthup payam awh teh, mit ka tawn hoeh e patetlah pou payam awh. Tangmin e patetlah kanîthun hai kamthui awh teh, ka rawp awh. Thaonae koe teh tami kadout patetlah doeh ka o awh toe.
We grope, as blind men for a wall, Yea, as men without eyes, do we grope, —We have stumbled at broad noon as though it were twilight, In desolate places like the dead!
We growl like bears all of us, And, like doves, do we, mournfully coo, —We wait For justice, and there is none, For salvation it is far from us!
12 Bangkongtetpawiteh, kâlawk eknae teh a hmaitung vah hoehoe apap.
For our transgressions have multiplied before thee, And, our sins, have witnessed against us, —For, our transgressions, are with us, And as for our iniquities, we acknowledge them:
13 Kâtapoenae, laithoe lahoi BAWIPA tarannae, Cathut hnamthun takhai e, repcoungroenae, taranthawnae lawk deinae, ka vawn awh teh, lungthin thung hoi laithoe lawk dei awh.
Transgressing, and denying Yahweh, And turning away from following our God, —Speaking oppression and revolt, Conceiving, and muttering from the heart, words of falsehood.
Lawkkatang teh lam dawk a rawp teh, lannae kâen thai hoeh.
So then there hath been a driving back of justice, And righteousness, afar off, standeth, —For truth, hath stumbled in the broad-way, And, right, cannot enter;
15 Lawkkatang teh a rawk toe. Thoenae ka roun e tami hah hnopainaw a lawp awh toe. BAWIPA ni hot hah a hmu teh, kângingnae ao hoeh toung dawkvah, a maithoe.
And the truth hath been found missing, And he that hath turned away from wrong is liable to be despoiled, And when, Yahweh, looked, Then was it grievous in his eyes that there was no justice:
16 Tami awm hoeh tie a hmu navah, ka kâhet pouh e awm hoeh tie hah kângai lah a ru. Hatdawkvah, a kut hoi roeroe rungngangnae letlang a sak teh, amae lannae lahoi letlang a kangdue sak.
When he saw that there was no mighty man, Then was he astonished that there was none to interpose, —So his own arm brought him salvation, And his own righteousness, the same, upheld him;
17 Lannae hah bahling lah a patuep teh rungngangnae hah sumluhuem lah a kâmuk. Moipathungnae hoi a kamthoup teh, lungthahmeinae angkidung hah a kho.
And he put on Righteousness as a coat of mail, And a helmet of victory upon his head, —And he put on the garments of avenging, for clothing, And wrapped about him as a cloak—jealousy,
According to their deeds, accordingly, will he repay, Indignation to his adversaries, Recompense to his enemies, —To the Coastlands—recompense, will he repay:
19 BAWIPA e min teh kanîloumlah hoi a taki awh vaiteh, a bawilennae hah kanîtho lahoi a taki awh han. Tarannaw teh tuikalen patetlah a tho navah, BAWIPA e Muitha ni ama hoi kâtaran lah a ngang han.
That they may revere—From the West the name of Yahweh, And from the Rising of the Sun his glory, For he will come in like a rushing stream, the breath of Yahweh, driving it on;
20 Zion vah ka ratangkung, Jakop kâtapoenae kamlang takhai naw koe a tho han telah BAWIPA ni ati.
So shall come in for Zion, a Redeemer, Even for such as are turning from transgression in Jacob, —Declareth Yahweh.
21 Het hah doeh, ahnimouh hoi kaie lawkkam e teh telah BAWIPA ni ati. Na lathueng kaawm e ka Muitha hoi na pahni dawk ka hruek e ka lawk ni, na pahni thoseh, na catounnaw e pahni thoseh, na catounnaw e pahni thoseh, atu hoi a yungyoe hoi a yungyoe totouh tâcawt takhai mahoeh toe telah BAWIPA ni a dei.
And as for me, this, shall be my covenant with them, Saith Yahweh: My spirit that is upon thee, And my words which I have put in thy mouth, —Shall not be taken out of thy mouth—Nor out of the mouth of thy seed. Nor out of the mouth of thy seeds seed, Saith Yahweh, From henceforth even unto times age-abiding.
