< Isaiah 53 >

1 Maimouh ni pathang awh e lawk heh apinimaw a yuem. BAWIPA kut teh api koe maw a kamnue.
Who believed what we have heard? And, the arm of Yahweh, to whom was it revealed?
2 Bangkongtetpawiteh, a hmalah talai hoi cati kapaw e patetlah ama teh, a paw. Ama ka hmu awh teh, ka ngai awh nahanelah, a meihawinae banghai tawn hoeh. Ngai kawi e minhmai awm hoeh.
When he came up as a sapling before him. And as a root-sprout out of dry ground, He had neither beauty nor majesty, —When we beheld him, there was nothing to behold, that we should desire him;
3 Ama teh taminaw e dudam hoi pahnawt e lah ao. Reithainae ka tawn e hoi patawnae ka panuek e lah ao. Tami ni a minhmai a thung takhai e patetlah taminaw ni a dudam e lah ao teh, kaimouh ni hai banglah ka noutna van hoeh.
Despised was he, and forsaken of men, Man of pains and familiar with sickness, —Yea, like one from whom the face is hidden, Despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Ama ni ka patawnae hah a phu. Ka lungmathoenae hai a phu. Hatei, kaimouh ni, lungmathoenae ni na pha sin e hoi, Cathut ni na hemnae patawnae na poe e lah ka pouk awh.
Yet surely, our sicknesses, he, carried, And, as for our pains, he bare the burden of them, —But, we, accounted him stricken. Smitten of God and humbled,
5 Hatei, kaimouh ni kâlawk ka ek awh kecu dawkvah pacekpahleknae hoi, ka yonae kecu dawkvah hemnae a khang. Ka lungmawng awh nahanelah yuenae teh amae tak dawk a pha sak teh, a hemnae hmâ dawk hoi ka dam awh.
Yet, he, was pierced for transgressions that were ours, was crushed for iniquities that were ours, —the chastisement for our well-being, was upon him, And by his stripes, there is healing for us.
6 Tu patetlah kahma awh teh, lamthung lengkaleng ka phen awh. Hatdawkvah, BAWIPA ni ka yonnae naw hah amae a tak dawk a patue.
We all, like sheep, had gone astray, Every man—to his way, had we burned, —And Yahweh! caused to light upon him The guilt of, us all!
7 Ama teh repcoungroe e lah ao ei, lawkkamuem lah ao. Thei hanelah a ceikhai awh e tuca patetlah a muen ngaw pouh nah duem kaawm e tuca patetlah ao teh, a pahni hai a cakuep.
Hard pressed—yet, he, humbled himself Nor opened his mouth—As, a lamb, to the slaughter, is led, And, as a sheep, before her shearers, is dumb—Nor opened his mouth.
8 Ama teh thongim thung hoi lawkcengnae lahoi a ceikhai awh. Apini maw a catoun hah a hram khai han. Kahringnaw e ram thung hoi ahni teh takhoe lah ao teh, ka taminaw ni kâ tapoenae kecu dawk ahni teh hem lah ao.
By constraint and by sentence, was he taken away, And of his age, who considered That he was cut off out of the land of the living, For my people’s transgression, did the stroke fall on him?
9 Payonnae sak boihoeh. Pahni dawk hoi dumyennae laithoe dei boihoeh. Hatei, a tangkom teh tamikahawihoehnaw koe rei pakawp hanelah a pouk awh. Hatei, a due hnukkhu hoi bawitangrengnaw koe ao.
And, appointed with lawless men, was his grave, And with the wicked, his tomb, —Though no violence, had he done, Nor was guile in his mouth.
10 Hateiteh, ama a hemnae teh BAWIPA ngainae doeh. Patawnae hah a poe katang teh, a hringnae teh yon thuengnae dawk hno toteh, ca catounnaw a hmu vaiteh, a hringnae hnin hah a saw sak han. BAWIPA ngainae teh a kut dawk a kuep sak han.
Yet, Yahweh, purposed to bruise him, He laid on him sickness: —If his soul become an offering for guilt, He shall see a seed, He shall prolong his days, —And the purpose of Yahweh, in his hand, shall prosper:
11 A hringnae tawkphu a hmu vaiteh, a lung a kuep han toe. Ka lan e ka san hah panuenae lahoi, ahni ni tamikapap hah lannae dawk a caksak han. Ahnimae yonnaw hah a phu pouh han.
Of the travail of his soul, shall he see He shall be satisfied with his knowledge, A setting right when set right himself, shall my Servant win for the Many, Since of their iniquities, he, taketh the burden.
12 Hatdawkvah, ama teh tami kalennaw ham ka rei han. Ahni ni a la e hnopainaw hah, athakaawme taminaw a rei han. Bangkongtetpawiteh, a hringnae teh, a due totouh a rabawk teh, kâlawk ka ek naw koe hmai touksin lah ao. Tami moikapap e yonnae hah a phu teh kâlawk kaeknaw hanlah a kâhei pouh.
Therefore, will I give him a portion in the great, And the strong, shall he apportion as spoil, Because he poured out, to death his own soul, And with transgressors, let himself be numbered, —Yea, he, the sin of Many, bare, And for transgressors, interposeth.
