< Isaiah 40 >
1 Lungpahawi awh, ka taminaw hah lungpahawi awh haw, telah nangmae Cathut ni a ti.
“Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God.
2 Tarantuk thaw na tawknae tueng akuep toe. Nange yon hai ngaithoum toe telah Jerusalem kho koe lawkkanem lahoi dei awh nateh, oung pouh awh haw.
“Speak comfortably to Jerusalem, and call out to her that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received of the LORD’s hand double for all her sins.”
3 Ramke dawk Oung pouh e teh, BAWIPA e lamthung teh rasoun awh. Thingyeiyawn dawk maimae Cathut e lamkalen teh sak awh.
The voice of one who calls out, “Prepare the way of the LORD in the wilderness! Make a level highway in the desert for our God.
4 Ravo kaawm e pueng paten awh nateh, monnaw hah tanghling sak awh. Ukuk kacoum e lamthungnaw hah kânging sak nateh, duradiduradup e naw hah kâpi sak awh.
Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low. The uneven shall be made level, and the rough places a plain.
5 BAWIPA e bawilennae kamnuek vaiteh, tami pueng ni a hmu awh han. Bangkongtetpawiteh, BAWIPA ni a dei toe.
The LORD’s glory shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it.”
6 Hote lawk ni hramkhai haw ati navah, kai ni bangmouh ka hramkhai han ka ti pouh navah, tami pueng teh phokung lah doeh ao. Ahnimae hawinae pueng hai kahrawng e a pei patetlah doeh ao.
The voice of one saying, “Cry out!” One said, “What shall I cry?” “All flesh is like grass, and all its glory is like the flower of the field.
7 BAWIPA e a kâha ni a kanawi toteh, phokungnaw teh a kamyai awh teh, a peinaw hai a sarut awh. Atangcalah, taminaw teh phokung lah doeh ao awh.
The grass withers, the flower fades, because the LORD’s breath blows on it. Surely the people are like grass.
8 Phokung teh a kamyai teh, a pei hai a sarut. Maimae Cathut lawk teh a yungyoe a kangning a ti.
The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of our God stands forever.”
9 Zion mon dawk kamthang kahawi kasinkung, ka rasang e mon dawk luen haw. Jerusalem vah kamthang kahawi kasinkung, puenghoi hramkhai haw. Taket hanh. Na Cathut hah khenhaw! telah Judah khonaw koe dei pouh haw.
You who tell good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who tell good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with strength! Lift it up! Don’t be afraid! Say to the cities of Judah, “Behold, your God!”
10 Khenhaw! Bawipa Jehovah teh thaonae kut hoi tho vaiteh, amae kutbuembue ni ama hanelah a uk han. Ama e tawkphu teh ama ni a thokhai han. Ama e kutphu hai a hmalah ao.
Behold, the Lord GOD will come as a mighty one, and his arm will rule for him. Behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.
11 A tuhunaw hah tukhoumkung patetlah kawk vaiteh, tucanaw hah a kut hoi tawm vaiteh, a tawm han. A ca kanaw kaawm e tunaw hai paiyai hoi a hrawi han.
He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom. He will gently lead those who have their young.
12 Tuinaw hah amae kuttabei hoi ka bangnue e, kalvan hah a kut hoi ka pakhap thai e, talai van e vaiphunaw hah yawcu khingnae dawk ka hrueng thai e, monnaw hah yawcu hoi ka khing niteh, monruinaw hah khinglung hoi ka khing thai e teh api nama.
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and marked off the sky with his span, and calculated the dust of the earth in a measuring basket, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
13 BAWIPA e Muitha hah apinimaw a bangnue thai han. Apimaw ama hoi kâpan niteh, ama hah ka panuek sak.
Who has directed the LORD’s Spirit, or has taught him as his counsellor?
14 Bawipa ni api hoi maw a kâpan teh, ahni ni Bawipa hah a thai panue sak thai vaw. Apinimaw Bawipa hah a cangkhai teh, lamthung hah a patue teh, a thai panuek nahanelah ka dei pouh vaw.
Who did he take counsel with, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed him the way of understanding?
15 Miphunnaw teh sikrei dawk hoi padekca e patetlah ao teh, yawcu dawk e vaiphuca patetlah doeh ao. Khenhaw! Tuilumnaw teh, mungpoung e patetlah doeh ao.
Behold, the nations are like a drop in a bucket, and are regarded as a speck of dust on a balance. Behold, he lifts up the islands like a very little thing.
16 Lebanon mon teh hmai patawi nahanelah khout hoeh. Hote mon dawk kaawm e moithangnaw hai hmaisawi thueng nahanelah khout hoeh.
Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor its animals sufficient for a burnt offering.
17 Khoram pueng hai Bawipa e hmalah teh, banghai bang hoeh e patetlah ao teh, banghai bang hoeh e hlak hai a thoungca e patetlah ao awh teh, ahrawnghrang patet lahai ao awh.
All the nations are like nothing before him. They are regarded by him as less than nothing, and vanity.
18 Hatdawkvah, Cathut hah api hoi maw bangnue han. Bawipa hah bang hoi maw bangnue han.
To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to him?
19 Meikaphawknaw teh, kasakkung ni sui puk a hluk teh, ngundingyin hai ouk a sak pou awh.
A workman has cast an image, and the goldsmith overlays it with gold, and casts silver chains for it.
20 Pasoumhno poe thai hoeh hane totouh, ka roedeng e tami niteh, kahmawn thai hoeh e thing hah a kârawi teh, kâroe thai hoeh e meikaphawk sak hanelah, kasakthaie naw hah ouk a tawng awh.
He who is too impoverished for such an offering chooses a tree that will not rot. He seeks a skilful workman to set up a carved image for him that will not be moved.
21 Na panuek awh hoeh maw. Apuengcue hoi nangmouh koe dei awh hoeh maw. Talai pek a pâw hoiyah na thaipanuek awh hoeh maw.
Haven’t you known? Haven’t you heard? Haven’t you been told from the beginning? Haven’t you understood from the foundations of the earth?
22 Talai kamhluem e van vah ka tahung niteh, talai van kaawm e taminaw teh awsi patetlah ao awh.
It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in,
23 Ukkung bawinaw hah banghai bang hoeh lah a coung sak teh, talai lawkcengkungnaw hah ahrawnghrang lah a coung sak.
who brings princes to nothing, who makes the judges of the earth meaningless.
24 Atangcalah ahnimouh hah patue hoeh. Atangcalah ahnimae cati hai kahei hoeh. Atangcalah ahnimae khawngyang teh talai dawk kâung hoeh. Ahnimouh hah phohmu toteh ahnimouh teh, bongparui ni cahik patetlah a palek awh han.
They are planted scarcely. They are sown scarcely. Their stock has scarcely taken root in the ground. He merely blows on them, and they wither, and the whirlwind takes them away as stubble.
25 Hottelah pawiteh, Kai teh api hoi maw a kâvan na ti awh han vaw telah kathounge Bawipa ni a ti.
“To whom then will you liken me? Who is my equal?” says the Holy One.
26 Nangmae na mit naw hoi kahlun lah khenhaw. Hete hnonaw hah apinimaw a sak. Hote Bawipa ni teh hotnaw pueng hah koung a parei thai. A min lahoi koung a kaw thai. A thasai teh, bahu hoi a kawi dawkvah, buet touh boehai kahmat mahoeh.
Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these, who brings out their army by number. He calls them all by name. By the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power, not one is lacking.
Why do you say, Jacob, and speak, Israel, “My way is hidden from the LORD, and the justice due me is disregarded by my God”?
28 Na panuek hoeh maw. Na thai boihoeh maw. Jehovah teh a yungyoe kangning e Cathut, talai pout ditouh kasakkung Cathut lah ao. A tâwn tie awm hoeh. A patang tie awm hoeh. Bawipa e panuenae hoi thaipanueknae teh apinihai tawng thai hoeh.
Haven’t you known? Haven’t you heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, doesn’t faint. He isn’t weary. His understanding is unsearchable.
29 Bawipa ni ka tâwn e naw hah tha a poe teh, tithainae ka tawn hoeh e naw hah tithainae a poe.
He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might.
30 Nawsainaw teh a tâwn awh vaiteh, a tha a baw awh han. Camonaw hai kamthui awh vaiteh, a tâlaw awh han.
Even the youths faint and get weary, and the young men utterly fall;
31 BAWIPA ka ngaihawi e naw teh, thaonae a katha hoi a kawi awh han. Matawnaw patetlah amamae rathei hoi kahlun lah a kamleng awh han. A yawng awh toteh patang awh mahoeh. A ceio awh to hai tâwn awh mahoeh.
but those who wait for the LORD will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.
