It may be the LORD your God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to defy the living God, and will rebuke the words which the LORD your God has heard. Therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.'"
5 Hezekiah e a sannaw teh Isaiah koe a pha awh toteh,
So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.

11 Khenhaw! Assyria siangpahrangnaw ni khoram tangkuem a raphoe awh teh, hotnaw koe a sak e naw hah na thai toe. Ahni teh ka hlout na ou.

Have the gods of the nations delivered them, which my fathers have destroyed, Gozan, Haran, Rezeph, and the people of Eden who were in Telassar?

Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivvah?'"

Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it. Then Hezekiah went up to the LORD's house, and spread it before the LORD.
15 Hatnavah, Hezekiah siangpahrang teh BAWIPA koe a ratoum.
Hezekiah prayed to the LORD, saying,

18 Oe BAWIPA, Assyria siangpahrangnaw ni miphunnaw hoi amamae ram naw hah kingkadi lah a ta teh,
Truly, LORD, the kings of Assyria have destroyed all the countries and their land,

Now therefore, LORD our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you are the LORD, even you only."
21 Hattoteh Amos capa Isaiah ni Hezekiah koe a patoun teh, Isarelnaw e Cathut Jehovah ni hettelah a dei.
Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, 'Because you have prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria,
22 Hote siangpahrang hoi kâkuen lah Cathut ni hete lawk hah a dei. Jerusalem tangla ni na hnuk lahoi a lû a kahek toe.
this is the word which the LORD has spoken concerning him. The virgin daughter of Zion has despised you and ridiculed you. The daughter of Jerusalem has shaken her head at you.
Whom have you defied and blasphemed? Against whom have you exalted your voice and lifted up your eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel.

By your messengers you have taunted the LORD, and have said, "With the multitude of my chariots I have come up to the height of the mountains, to the innermost parts of Lebanon. I will cut down its tall cedars and its choice fir trees. I will enter into its farthest height, the forest of its fruitful field.
25 Tuikhu ka tai teh tui ka nei toe. Ka khoktabei hoiyah Izip ram e palang kaawm e pueng kahak sak toe telah na dei.

Have you not heard how I have done it long ago, and formed it in ancient times? Now I have brought it to pass, that it should be yours to destroy fortified cities, turning them into ruinous heaps.
27 Atha ka baw e hote khocanaw teh, a lungpout laihoi yeirai a phu awh teh, kahrawng e phonaw patetlah thoseh, a len hoehnahlan tang kamyai e lemphu e phokung patetlah thoseh, ao awh.
Therefore their inhabitants had little power. They were dismayed and confounded. They were like the grass of the field, and like the green herb, like the grass on the rooftops when it is scorched by the east wind.
But I know your sitting down, your going out, your coming in, and your raging against me.

Because of your raging against me, and because your arrogance has come up into my ears, therefore I will put my hook in your nose and my bridle in your lips, and I will turn you back by the way by which you came.
30 Nang hanelah mitnout teh hettelah ao. Takum dawkvah amahmawk ka paw e naw thoseh, a kum pahni vah hot dawk hoi ka pâw e naw hai thoseh na ca han. A kum pâthum vah, kahei nateh a awh. Misurnaw hah patue awh nateh, a paw hah cat awh.
This shall be the sign to you. You will eat this year that which grows of itself, and in the second year that which springs from the same; and in the third year sow and reap and plant vineyards, and eat their fruit.
31 Kacawie Judahnaw teh, a tangpha bout payang awh vaiteh, asawi lah a pâw a paw awh han.
The remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah will again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.
32 Bangkongtetpawiteh, kacawie naw teh Jerusalem kho hoi thoseh, kahlout e naw teh Zion mon dawk hoi thoseh, a tâco awh han. Cathut e a lungthonae teh hetenaw hah a sak han.
For out of Jerusalem a remnant will go forth, and survivors will escape from Mount Zion. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.'

Therefore thus says the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, 'He will not come to this city, nor shoot an arrow there, neither will he come before it with shield, nor cast up a mound against it.
34 Hete kho koe a thonae lam dawk hoi a ban han. Hete kho thung kâen mahoeh. Cathut ni a dei e teh,
By the way that he came, by the same he shall return, and he shall not come to this city,' says the LORD.
'For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake, and for my servant David's sake.'"
36 Hat toteh, BAWIPA e kalvantami a tâco teh Assyria ransahu thung e tami 185,000 touh a thei. Amom toteh a thaw awh navah, ahnimanaw teh ro lah ao awh.
The angel of the LORD went out and struck one hundred and eighty-five thousand men in the camp of the Assyrians. When men arose early in the morning, look, these were all dead bodies.
37 Assyria siangpahrang Sennacherib hai a tâco a ban teh, Nineveh kho dawkvah ao.
So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, went away, returned to Nineveh, and stayed there.

It happened, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons struck him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. Esarhaddon his son reigned in his place.
