< Isaiah 32 >

1 Khenhaw! Siangpahrang buet touh ni lannae hoi a uk han. A kut rahim e bawinaw ni hai lannae hoi a uk awh han.
Behold, a king reigns for righteousness, As for princes, they rule for judgment.
2 Tami buet touh teh, kahlî a tho nah kânguenae patetlah thoseh, thingyei yawn dawk e palang patetlah thoseh, ngawt tawnnae koe lungsong e a tâhlip patetlah thoseh ao han.
And each has been as a hiding place [from] wind, And as a secret hiding place [from] inundation, As streams of waters in a dry place, As a shadow of a heavy rock in a weary land.
3 Kahmawtnaw e mit kacaipanlah a hmu awh han. Ka thai e tami pueng ni hai a hnâ a pakeng awh han.
And the eyes of beholders are not dazzled, And the ears of hearers attend.
4 Lungtawtnae lung hoi ouk ka kâroe e ni hai a thaipanuek han. A lawk ka patak e ni hai kamcengcalah a dei thai hanelah coungkacoe ao.
And the heart of those hurried understands to know, And the tongue of stammerers hurries to speak clearly.
5 Tamipathu hah ka talue e telah thoseh, a lai kathout kamhnawng e hah bari kaawm e tami telah thoseh, bout kaw mahoeh toe.
A fool is no more called “noble,” And to a miser it is not said, “rich”;
6 Bangkongtetpawiteh, Cathut laipalah tawksak nahanelah, BAWIPA e kong hah laithoe lah dei nahanelah, vonhlamrincinaw e lungngai pakuep pouh laipalah paktha nahane hoi, tui kahran e hah tui pânei hoeh nahanelah, tamipathu ni pathunae hah a dei teh, ahnie lungthin ni yonnae sak hanelah a pouk
For a fool speaks folly, And his heart does iniquity, to do profanity, And to speak error concerning YHWH, To empty the soul of the hungry, Indeed, he causes the thirsty to lack [their] drink.
7 A lai kathout kamhnawng naw hanelah senehmaica teh yonnae hah doeh. Mathoenaw e kâheinae teh thuem pawiteh, mathoenaw hah laithoe lahoi raphoe nahanelah, ahni ni kathoute pouknae hah ouk a pouk.
And the miser—his instruments [are] evil, He has counseled wicked schemes, To corrupt the poor with lying sayings, Even when the needy speaks justly.
8 Hatei, ka talue e taminaw niteh, ka talue e pouknae hah a pouk teh, ka talue e naw hah a kangduekhai.
And the noble counseled noble things, And he rises up for noble things.
9 Awpawp kaawm e napuinaw, thaw awh haw. Kaie lawk hah thai awh haw. Mahoima lungkayouk e napuinaw, ka lawk hah thai awh haw.
Women, easy ones, rise, hear my voice, Daughters, confident ones, give ear [to] my saying,
10 Mahoima lungkayouk e napuinaw, nangmouh teh hnin touh, kum touh thung na pâyaw awh han. Bangkongtetpawiteh, misurpaw khinae a pâpout awh han. A paw khinae tue phat mahoeh.
In days and a year You are troubled, O confident ones, For harvest has been consumed, The gathering does not come.
11 Awpawp kaawm e napuinaw, taki hoi pâyaw awh haw. Mahoima lungkayouknaw, khohna rading teh, tawngtai lah o hnukkhu, buri hah kâyeng awh haw.
Tremble, you women, you easy ones, Be troubled, you confident ones, Strip and make bare, with a girdle on the loins,
12 Talai kahawi laikawknaw hoi a paw kara e misurkung hanelah, lungtabue ratum awh.
They are lamenting for breasts, For fields of desire, for the fruitful vine.
13 Pâkhing tangdunnaw ni a yawngyen e ka taminaw e talai hane hoi kamthang e kho thung hoi lunghawinae hoi kakawi e im pueng hanelah a tho.
Over the ground of my people thorn [and] brier go up, Surely over all houses of joy of the exulting city,
14 Siangpahrang im teh ceitakhai lah ao teh, tami alumnae kho teh hnoun lah ao toe. Imrasang hoi onae imnaw teh, sarang khu lah a yungyoe ao teh, la kacuetnaw hoi tunaw ni hrampanae hmuen lah ao han.
The palace has been left, The multitude of the city forsaken, Fort and watchtower have been for dens for all time, A joy of wild donkeys—a pasture of herds;
15 Kalvan hoi Muitha hah maimouh van a awi teh, ramke teh talai kahawi patue nahane kahawicalah a coung teh, talai kahawi lawhmuen teh ratu telah ti hnin totouh ao han.
Until the Spirit is emptied out on us from on high, And a wilderness has become a fruitful field, And the fruitful field is reckoned for a forest.
16 Hattoteh lannae teh kahrawngum vah ao vaiteh, lannae teh talai kahawi lawhmuen dawk a yungyoe ao han.
And judgment has dwelt in the wilderness, And righteousness remains in the fruitful field.
17 Lannae ahawinae teh, lungmawngnae lah ao teh, lannae ni a thokhai e teh, a yungyoe roumnae hoi lungmawngnae lah doeh ao.
And a work of the righteousness has been peace, And a service of the righteousness—Keeping quiet and confidence for all time.
18 Ka taminaw hai roumnae hmuen, lungmawngnae hmuen hoi duem kâhatnae naw dawk ao awh han.
And My people have dwelt in a peaceful habitation, And in steadfast dwelling places, And in quiet resting places.
19 Hatei, ratu teh talai dawk rep a tabo teh, kho hai talai hoi sue touh lah a rawk toteh, rounnaw a bo han.
And it has hailed in the going down of the forest, And the city is low in the valley.
20 Tui onae hmuen pueng koe cati kahei vaiteh, maito e khok hoi la khok naw ka tha e nang teh na yawhawi awh.
Blessed [are] you sowing by all waters, Sending forth the foot of the ox and the donkey!
