< Isaiah 3 >
1 Bangkongtetpawiteh, Rasahu Bawipa Jehovah ni rawca hoi tui kabawpnae puenghoi, kabawpnae kaawm e pueng hah Jerusalem kho hoi Judah ram thung hoi a takhoe toe.
For behold the sovereign the Lord of hosts shall take away from Jerusalem, and from Juda the valiant and the strong, the whole strength of bread, and the whole strength of water.
2 Athakaawme tami, taran ka tuk e tami, lawkcengkung, profet, khueyue, matawng,
The strong man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the cunning man, and the ancient.
3 tami 50 ka uk e, barilawa kaawm e tami, kâpokhai, kut taran kahawi, pahni taran kahawi e pueng a takhoe han.
The captain over fifty, and the honourable in countenance, and the counsellor, and the architect, and the skillful in eloquent speech.
And I will give children to be their princes, and the effeminate shall rule over them.
And the people shall rush one upon another, and every man against his neighbour: the child shall make it tumult against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.
For a man shall take hold or his brother, one of the house of his father, saying: Thou hast a garment, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand.
Bangkongtetpawiteh, kai im vah, rawca hoi khohna awm hoeh. Khocanaw koe bawi na tawk sak awh hanh loe telah kamcengcairalah ati han.
In that day he shall answer, saying: I am no healer, and in my house there is no bread, nor clothing: make me not ruler of the people.
8 Jerusalem kho a tip toe. Judah ram a rawk toe. Bangkongtetpawiteh, ahnimae lawk tho hoi tawksaknae teh, BAWIPA ngainae patetlah awm hoeh. A bawilennae mit hah a taran awh toe.
For Jerusalem is ruined, and Juda is fallen: because their tongue, and their devices are against the Lord, to provoke the eyes of his majesty.
9 Ahnimae minhmai teh, amamouh kapanuekkhaikung lah ao. Amamouh yonnae hrawk thai awh hoeh. Sodom khonaw patetlah hmantang vah, yonnae a sak awh. Ahnimae muitha dawk yawthoenae ao. Bangkongtetpawiteh, hawihoehnae heh a mamhmawk a kâpatho awh toe.
The shew of their countenance hath answered them: and they have proclaimed abroad their sin as Sodom, and they have not hid it: woe to their souls, for evils are rendered to them.
10 Tami kalan teh yawhawinae ao telah ahnimouh koe dei pouh haw. Bangkongtetpawiteh, a tawk awh e paw hah a ca awh han.
Say to the just man that it is well, for he shall eat the fruit of his doings.
11 Tami kahawihoeh teh yawthoenae ao. Hawihoehnae hoi a kâhmo han. Bangkongtetpawiteh, a tawksak e yonnae hah ahni lathueng patho lah ao han.
Woe to the wicked unto evil: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.
12 Ka taminaw ni camonaw a rektap awh. Napuinaw hai a uk awh. Na dawn awh e lamthung hai a raphoe awh toe.
As for my people, their oppressors have stripped them, and women have ruled over them. O my people, they that call thee blessed, the same deceive thee, and destroy the way of thy steps.
13 BAWIPA ni lawkcengnae hmuen koe amae hmuen a la teh, taminaw lawkceng hanlah a kangdue.
The Lord standeth up to judge, and he standeth to judge the people.
14 BAWIPA ni a taminaw thung dawk e, a kum kacuenaw hai thoseh, bawinaw hai thoseh, lawkceng hanelah lawkcengnae hmuen koe a kâen.
The Lord will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and its princes: for you have devoured the vineyard, and the spoil of the poor is in your house.
Why do you consume my people, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Lord the God of hosts.
16 BAWIPA ni bout a dei e teh, Zion canunaw teh a kâoupnae a rasang awh. A lahuen a kamnue sak awh teh, a mit a kâhei sak awh teh, a khoksaluem koe dinghling lawk a tho teh, tektanek lah ceitakhai laihoi lam a cei awh dawkvah,
And the Lord said: Because the daughters of Sion are haughty, and have walked with stretched out necks, and wanton glances of their eyes, and made a noise as they walked with their feet and moved in a set pace:
17 BAWIPA ni Zion canunaw hah a lû moihna sak vaiteh, a khohna rading pouh vaiteh, caici lah yeirai kaposak han.
The Lord will make bald the crown of the head of the daughters of Sion, and the Lord will discover their hair.
18 Hote hnin navah, a kamthoupnae khok dinghling, tamlawk lupawk, dingyin,
In that day the Lord will take away the ornaments of shoes, and little moons,
19 hnâpacap kanghoi e, laikaw, minhmai ramuk,
And chains and necklaces, and bracelets, and bonnets,
20 luhuem, sui khokdingyin, taisawm, hmuitui bawm,
And bodkins, and ornaments of the legs, and tablets, and sweet balls, and earrings,
21 kuthrawt, hnawngpacap,
And rings, and jewels hanging on the forehead,
22 sui tamlawk angki, hnica, kala, yawngya,
And changes of apparel, and short cloaks, and fine linen, and crisping pins,
23 hlalang, athung angki, sammuem, hoi kamthoupnae hni naw hah ka takhoe han.
And looking-glasses, and lawns, and headbands, and fine veils.
24 Hmuitui e yueng lah kapawk hmui, taisawm e yueng lah tangron, samvei e yueng lah lû luengpalueng, loukloukkaang e khohna yueng lah buri, meihawinae yueng lah sum pâan hoi nep e a hmâkathan lah ao han.
And instead of a sweet smell there shall be stench, and instead of a girdle, a cord, and instead of curled hair, baldness, and instead of a stomacher, haircloth.
25 Na taminaw teh, tahloi hoi a rawp awh vaiteh, nange athakaawm taminaw teh taran tuknae koe a due awh han.
Thy fairest men also shall fall by the sword, and thy valiant ones in battle.
26 A longkhanaw ni cingou laihoi khuikap awh vaiteh, kingkadi lah talai dawk a tahung han.
And her gates shall lament and mourn, and she shall sit desolate on the ground.
