1 marangransanawHethateh, ayawn hoi kâkuen e vision doeh. Nangmouh pueng teh lemphu na luen awh nahanelah, nangmouh koe bang hno mouh ka tho vaw.
The oracle on the valley of vision, —What aileth thee, then, That thou art wholly gone up to the house-tops?
2 Nang teh ka hrawang e kho, ka hramki e kho, ka kamlue e kho. Na tami ronaw teh, tahloi hoi kadout awh e nahoeh. Taran kâtuknae koe kadout awh e hai nahoeh.
With tumults, art thou filled, thou citadel in commotion! city exultant! Thy slain, are Not the slain, of the sword, Nor the dead in battle.
3 Na kahrawikungnaw pueng teh cungtalah koung a yawng awh. Ahnimouh teh licung sin laipalah, katek lah ao awh. Ahlanae koe a yawng awh eiteh, man e naw teh, cungtalah katek lah ao awh.
All thy ruler, having fled, together, by the bow, are taken captive: All found in thee have been taken captive, together, Far away, have they fled.
4 Hatdawkvah, kai hah na khen hanh. Puenghoi ka kap haw nei. Ka miphunnaw e tanglanaw hoi kâkuen lah, kai hah lungpahawi hanelah kâcai awh hanh lah a, telah ka ti.
For this cause, I said—Look away from me, Bitterly, will I weep, —Do not press to comfort me, For the ruin of the daughter of my people.
5 Bangkongtetpawiteh, ransahu BAWIPA ni, vision hmunae ayawn dawkvah, paringparang lah onae, rektapnae, kâsanunae, kho rapan raphoenae, monnaw hramkinae hoi kâkuen e hnin teh a hmoun toe.
For a day of confusion and downtreading and perplexity, pertaineth to My Lord, Yahweh of hosts, in the valley of vision, an undermining of walls, and a crying for help to the mountain.
6 Elam ram teh, rangleng ransa, marangransanaw hoi cungtalah caritpala a sin toe. Kir ram ni bahling hah a rasa toe.
Yea, Elam, beareth the quiver, With trains of men, [and] horsemen, —And, Kir, hath uncovered the shield.
7 Na ngai poung e ayawnnaw teh taran tuknae ranglengnaw hoi a kawi. Marangransanaw teh longkha koe hmuen a la awh.
And it hath come to pass that the choice of thy vales, are full of chariots; Yea, the horsemen, have set themselves, in array, at the gate.
8 Judah ram ni a kânguenae teh takhoe pouh lah ao toe. Hatnae tueng dawk nang teh, ratu im dawk e senehmaica hah na khen vaiteh,
Then removed he the veil of Judah, —Yea thou didst peer on that day, into the armoury of the forest-house;
9 Devit kho dawk karawk ni teh katim e moikapap na hmu han. Nangmouh teh, akalae tuiim dawk e tui hai na pâtung awh han.
And the breaches in the city of David, ye beheld for they were many, —So ye gathered together the waters of the lower pool;
10 Hathnukkhu, Jerusalem kaawm e imnaw hah na parei vaiteh, rapannaw hah kacaklah sak thai nahanelah, imnaw hah raphoe awh.
And the houses of Jerusalem, ye counted, —And brake down the houses, to fortify the wall;
11 Tuiim karuem dawk hoi tuinaw hanelah, tuiim hai rapan bokhni touh e rahak vah, a sak awh. Hatei, het naw ka sak e, nangmouh ni na khen awh hoeh, na panuek awh hoeh. Ayan hoi hote ka sak e haiyah, banglahai na ngai awh hoeh.
And a reservoir, ye made between the two walls, for the waters of the ancient pool, —And had no regard unto him that made it, Nor unto him that formed it long ago, had ye respect.
12 Hatnae tueng dawkvah, khuika hanelah, sam ngaw hanelah, buri khohna hanelah, ransahu Bawipa Jehovah ni na coun teh na hroecoe awh.
And, when My Lord Yahweh of hosts called in that day, —for weeping, and for lamentation, and for shaving bare and for girding with sackcloth,
13 Hatei, Khenhaw! Lunghawinae, maitonaw theinae, tunaw theinae, maitomoi canae, misur yamu neinae a sak awh teh, maimouh teh tangtho due awh han toung dawkvah, cat net awh sei, telah ati awh bo aw.
Then lo! joy and rejoicing, killing oxen and slaughtering sheep, eating flesh and drinking wine, —Let us eat and drink, For to-morrow, we may die!
14 Rasahu BAWIPA ni a dei e teh, kaie ka hnâ dawk a pâpho e teh, atangcalah, nangmouh teh na due awh ditouh yontha lah na awm mahoeh, telah ransahu Bawipa Jehovah ni a ti.
Therefore did Yahweh reveal himself in mine ears. Surely there shall be no propitiatory-covering put over this iniquity for you until ye die, Saith My Lord Yahweh of hosts.
15 Ka Bawipa ransabawi Jehovah ni a dei e teh, tho nateh, hnokuemkung Shebna, ahni teh im ka ukkung lah kaawm e koe cet nateh,
Thus, said My Lord Yahweh, of hosts, Come go in unto this steward, Unto Shebna, who is over the house:
16 a rasangnae koe nama hanelah phuen tangkom tai nateh, ma o nahane hmuen hah talung dawk ka thuk e, nang teh hete hmuen hoi bangtelamaw na kâkuet teh, phuen tangkom hah nama hanelah na thuk nahanelah, hete hmuen koe nang teh api hoi maw na kâkuet.
What doest thou here? And whom hast thou here? That thou hast hewn for thyself here a sepulchre, —As one hewing on high his sepulchre, Cutting out in the cliff a habitation for himself?
17 Oe, athakaawme tami, BAWIPA ni nang teh, puenghoi na pâlei han. Nang hah kacaklah na man han.
Lo! Yahweh, is about to hurl thee, with a hurl, O mighty man, —And roll thee with a roll;
18 Nang hah pou na palet vaiteh, akawnae ram dawk na tâkhawng han. Nang teh hote ram dawk na due han. Hote ram dawk, nange lentoe ranglengnaw teh, na bawipa e imthungnaw hanelah, yeiraiponae lah ao han.
He will, toss, thee, with a toss, like a ball, into a country wide on both hands, —There, shalt thou die, And there shall thy glorious chariots be the contempt of the house of thy lord.
19 Na thaw dawk hoi na takhoe han. Na hmuen koehoi beng na sawn han.
Thus will I thrust thee out from thine office, —And from thy station, shall one tear thee down.
20 Hatnae hnin dawkvah, Hilkiah capa, ka san Eliakim hah ka kaw vaiteh,
And it shall come to pass in that day, That I will call for my servant, for Eliakim son of Hilkiah,
21 nange khohna hah, ahni ka khohna sak han. Na taisawm hai ka kâyeng sak vaiteh, nange kâtawnnae hah ahni kut dawk ka poe han. Ahni teh Jerusalem vah kaawm e naw hoi Judah miphunnaw e na pa lah ao han.
And will clothe him with thy tunic And with thy girdle, will I gird him, And thine authority, will I deliver into his hand, —So shall he become a father To the inhabitant of Jerusalem and To the house of Judah.
22 Devit im e tho cabi hah, ahnie a loung dawk ka patue pouh han. Ahni ni a paawng vaiteh, apinihai khan thai mahoeh. Ahni ni a khan e teh apinihai paawng thai mahoeh.
And I will lay the key of the house of David upon his shoulder, —And he shall open and none shall shut, And shut and none shall open;
23 Kacake hmuen koe pâkhinae rui patetlah ka caksak han. Ahni teh a na pa e im dawk, bawilennae bawitungkhung lah ao han.
And I will fasten him as a peg in a sure place, —And he shall become a throne of glory, to the house of his father;
24 Kawlung koehoi kamtawng teh, ailo manang pueng, hnopai e pueng, na pa imthung hoi catounnaw e bawilennae teh, ahnie van vah bang lah ao han.
And they shall hang upon him all the weight of his father’s house—The offshoots and the side-twigs—All the small vessels, Both the cups and all the jugs
25 BAWIPA ni a dei e teh, hatnae tueng dawkvah, kacak hmuen koe kaawm e pâkhinae rui teh, a hmuen koehoi puen vaiteh, thouk bouk vaiteh, a rawp han. Ahni van kaawm e hnokari hai takhoe lah ao han, telah Rasahu BAWIPA ni a ti.
In that day, —Declareth Yahweh of hosts Shall the peg, give way, that was fastened in a sure place, —Yea it shall be cut off and fall And the burden that was upon it shall perish, For, Yahweh, hath spoken!
