< Isaiah 22 >

1 marangransanawHethateh, ayawn hoi kâkuen e vision doeh. Nangmouh pueng teh lemphu na luen awh nahanelah, nangmouh koe bang hno mouh ka tho vaw.
The burden of the valley of vision. What aileth thee now, that thou art wholly gone up to the housetops?
Taran kâtuknae koe kadout awh e hai nahoeh.
O thou that art full of shoutings, a tumultuous city, a joyous town; thy slain are not slain with the sword, neither are they dead in battle.
3 Na kahrawikungnaw pueng teh cungtalah koung a yawng awh. Ahnimouh teh licung sin laipalah, katek lah ao awh. Ahlanae koe a yawng awh eiteh, man e naw teh, cungtalah katek lah ao awh.
All thy rulers fled away together, they were bound by the archers; all that were found of thee were bound together; they fled afar off.
4 Hatdawkvah, kai hah na khen hanh. Puenghoi ka kap haw nei. Ka miphunnaw e tanglanaw hoi kâkuen lah, kai hah lungpahawi hanelah kâcai awh hanh lah a, telah ka ti.
Therefore said I, Look away from me, I will weep bitterly; labor not to comfort me for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
5 Bangkongtetpawiteh, ransahu BAWIPA ni, vision hmunae ayawn dawkvah, paringparang lah onae, rektapnae, kâsanunae, kho rapan raphoenae, monnaw hramkinae hoi kâkuen e hnin teh a hmoun toe.
For it is a day of discomfiture, and of treading down, and of perplexity, from the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, in the valley of vision; a breaking down of the walls, and a crying to the mountains.
6 Elam ram teh, rangleng ransa, marangransanaw hoi cungtalah caritpala a sin toe. Kir ram ni bahling hah a rasa toe.
And Elam bare the quiver, with chariots of men [and] horsemen; and Kir uncovered the shield.
7 Na ngai poung e ayawnnaw teh taran tuknae ranglengnaw hoi a kawi. Marangransanaw teh longkha koe hmuen a la awh.
And it came to pass, that thy choicest valleys were full of chariots, and the horsemen set themselves in array at the gate.
8 Judah ram ni a kânguenae teh takhoe pouh lah ao toe. Hatnae tueng dawk nang teh, ratu im dawk e senehmaica hah na khen vaiteh,
And he took away the covering of Judah; and thou didst look in that day to the armor in the house of the forest.
And ye saw the breaches of the city of David, that they were many; and ye gathered together the waters of the lower pool;
10 Hathnukkhu, Jerusalem kaawm e imnaw hah na parei vaiteh, rapannaw hah kacaklah sak thai nahanelah, imnaw hah raphoe awh.
and ye numbered the houses of Jerusalem, and ye brake down the houses to fortify the wall;
11 Tuiim karuem dawk hoi tuinaw hanelah, tuiim hai rapan bokhni touh e rahak vah, a sak awh.
ye made also a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But ye looked not unto him that had done this, neither had ye respect unto him that purposed it long ago.
12 Hatnae tueng dawkvah, khuika hanelah, sam ngaw hanelah, buri khohna hanelah, ransahu Bawipa Jehovah ni na coun teh na hroecoe awh.
And in that day did the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, call to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to girding with sackcloth:
13 Hatei, Khenhaw! Lunghawinae, maitonaw theinae, tunaw theinae, maitomoi canae, misur yamu neinae a sak awh teh, maimouh teh tangtho due awh han toung dawkvah, cat net awh sei, telah ati awh bo aw.
and, behold, joy and gladness, slaying oxen and killing sheep, eating flesh and drinking wine: Let us eat and drink, for to-morrow we shall die.
14 Rasahu BAWIPA ni a dei e teh, kaie ka hnâ dawk a pâpho e teh, atangcalah, nangmouh teh na due awh ditouh yontha lah na awm mahoeh, telah ransahu Bawipa Jehovah ni a ti.
And Jehovah of hosts revealed himself in mine ears, Surely this iniquity shall not be forgiven you till ye die, saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts.
15 Ka Bawipa ransabawi Jehovah ni a dei e teh, tho nateh, hnokuemkung Shebna, ahni teh im ka ukkung lah kaawm e koe cet nateh,
Thus saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, Go, get thee unto this treasurer, even unto Shebna, who is over the house, [and say],
16 a rasangnae koe nama hanelah phuen tangkom tai nateh, ma o nahane hmuen hah talung dawk ka thuk e, nang teh hete hmuen hoi bangtelamaw na kâkuet teh, phuen tangkom hah nama hanelah na thuk nahanelah, hete hmuen koe nang teh api hoi maw na kâkuet.
What doest thou here? and whom hast thou here, that thou hast hewed thee out here a sepulchre? hewing him out a sepulchre on high, graving a habitation for himself in the rock!
Behold, Jehovah, like a [strong] man, will hurl thee away violently; yea, he will wrap thee up closely.
He will surely wind thee round and round, [and toss thee] like a ball into a large country; there shalt thou die, and there shall be the chariots of thy glory, thou shame of thy lord’s house.
19 Na thaw dawk hoi na takhoe han. Na hmuen koehoi beng na sawn han.
And I will thrust thee from thine office; and from thy station shalt thou be pulled down.
20 Hatnae hnin dawkvah, Hilkiah capa, ka san Eliakim hah ka kaw vaiteh,
And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:
21 nange khohna hah, ahni ka khohna sak han. Na taisawm hai ka kâyeng sak vaiteh, nange kâtawnnae hah ahni kut dawk ka poe han. Ahni teh Jerusalem vah kaawm e naw hoi Judah miphunnaw e na pa lah ao han.
and I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand; and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.
22 Devit im e tho cabi hah, ahnie a loung dawk ka patue pouh han. Ahni ni a paawng vaiteh, apinihai khan thai mahoeh. Ahni ni a khan e teh apinihai paawng thai mahoeh.
And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; and he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
23 Kacake hmuen koe pâkhinae rui patetlah ka caksak han.
And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a throne of glory to his father’s house.
And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father’s house, the offspring and the issue, every small vessel, from the cups even to all the flagons.
In that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, shall the nail that was fastened in a sure place give way; and it shall be hewn down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off; for Jehovah hath spoken it.
