< Isaiah 21 >
1 Tuipui teng kaawm e thingyeiyawn hoi kâkuen e lawk teh, akalah hoi bongparui ni a ceikhai e patetlah hothateh takitho e ramke koehoi a tho.
The burden of the wilderness of the sea. As whirlwinds in the South sweep through, it comes from the wilderness, from a terrible land.
2 Taki ka tho e vision hah ka hmu toe. Yuemkamcu hoeh e tami teh yuemkamcu hoeh. Ka raphoe e tami teh a raphoe. Elam khocanaw luen takhang awh. Midian khocanaw kalup awh. Hote kho kecu ka tâcawt e cingounae kaawm e pueng hah karoumsak toe.
A grievous vision is declared to me. The treacherous man deals treacherously, and the destroyer destroys. Go up, O Elam. Besiege, O Media, all the sighing of it I have made to cease.
3 Hatdawkvah, ka keng teh patawnae hoi a kawi.
Therefore my loins are filled with anguish. Pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman in travail. I am pained so that I cannot hear. I am dismayed so that I cannot see.
4 Ka lungthin a kâhei teh, ka taki dawkvah, tâlueng laihoi ka o. Dikdik ka doun e tangminlah lenghrim patenghai kaluekalap kawi lah ao toe.
My heart flutters. Horror has frightened me. The twilight that I desired has been turned into trembling to me.
5 Ahnimouh ni caboi a rakueng awh. Imrasang dawk ramveng ka ta toe. A ca awh. A nei awh. Oe kahrawikungnaw thaw awh. Bahlingnaw hah satui hluk awh.
They prepare the table, they set the watch, they eat, they drink. Rise up, ye rulers, anoint the shield.
6 Bangkongtetpawiteh, Cathut ni kai hanelah, cet haw. Ramveng ratawng sak haw. A hmu e patetlah dei sak haw.
For thus has the Lord said to me, Go, set a watchman. Let him declare what he sees.
7 Ahni ni, rangleng ransahu, marangransanaw, la ransahu, kalauk ransahu hah a hmu toteh, kamcengcalah a hnâpakeng vaiteh, taranhawi nalaihoi thai naseh, telah a ti.
and when he sees a troop, horsemen in pairs, a troop of donkeys, a troop of camels, he shall hearken diligently with much heed.
And he cried out as a lion, O Lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and am set in my ward whole nights,
9 Khenhaw! Atu rangleng ransahu hoi marangransanaw teh a tho awh lahun, titeh hram laihoi a dei. Hathnukkhu, a rawp toe. Babilon kho a rawp toe. Ahnie meikaphawk cathut kaawm e pueng teh, talai dawk reppasei lah koung a rawp awh toe telah rek a dei.
and, behold, here comes a troop of men, horsemen in pairs. And he answered and said, Fallen, fallen is Babylon. And all the graven images of her gods are broken to the ground.
O my threshing, and the grain of my floor! That which I have heard from Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, I have declared to you.
11 Oe ramveng, karum lah bangtelane Oe ramveng, karum lah bangtelane, telah Seir mon hoi kai hah na kaw.
The burden of Dumah. He calls to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?
12 Ramveng nihai, amom a pha doeh. Karum hai a pha doeh. Pacei han ngai pawiteh pacei awh. A hnukkhu bout tho awh, telah a ti.
The watchman said, The morning comes, and also the night. If ye will inquire, inquire ye; turn ye back, come.
13 Kahlawng ka cet e Dedannaw, nangmouh teh Arabia ratu dawk karum na roe awh han.
The burden upon Arabia. In the forest in Arabia ye shall lodge, O ye caravans of Dedanites.
14 Tema ram dawk kaawm e taminaw, tui kahrannaw hanelah tui sin pouh awh.
To him who was thirsty they brought water. The inhabitants of the land of Tema met the fugitives with their bread.
For they fled away from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war.
For thus the Lord has said to me, Within a year, according to the years of a hireling, all the glory of Kedar shall fail.
17 Kacawie athakaawme Kedar capanaw, lipala ka patuem e ransanaw teh a youn awh han. Bangkongtetpawiteh, Isarelnaw e Cathut Jehovah ni hottelah yo a dei toe.
And the residue of the number of the archers, the mighty men of the sons of Kedar, shall be few. For Jehovah, the God of Israel, has spoken it.
