1 Isarel dam sak hanlah ka kâcai navah, Ephraim e yonnae hoi Samaria hawihoehnae bout a kamnue. Ahnimouh teh lawkkam cak awh hoeh. Athung lah tamru ouk a kâen teh, alawilah hai dingca ni ouk a tuk awh.
'When I give healing to Israel, Then revealed is the iniquity of Ephraim, And the wickedness of Samaria, For they have wrought falsehood, And a thief doth come in, Stript off hath a troop in the street,
2 Ahnimae hawihoehnae pueng Kai ni ka pâkuem tie hah a lung dawk pouk awh hoeh. Atu patenghai hote hno ni a kalup awh toe. Ka hmaitung vah ao awh.
And they do not say to their heart, [That] all their evil I have remembered, Now compassed them have their doings, Over-against My face they have been.
3 Kahawihoeh e hno hoi siangpahrangnaw a lunghawi sak awh teh, laithoe lawk hoi bawinaw a lunghawi sak awh.
With their wickedness they make glad a king, And with their lies — princes.
4 Ahnimouh pueng teh kamsoumhoehe napui tongpa yonnae ka sak e lah ao awh. Vaiyei ka thawng e ni hmai sut a patawi teh, tavai a kanawk hnukkhu a po hoehnahlan racum laipalah karoum e hoi a kâvan awh.
All of them [are] adulterers, Like a burning oven of a baker, He ceaseth from stirring up after kneading the dough, till its leavening.
5 Maimae siagpahrang hnin navah, bawinaw ni misur koung a parui awh teh, ka dudam e naw hoi kut reirei a dâw awh.
A day of our king! Princes have polluted themselves [with] the poison of wine, He hath drawn out his hand with scorners.
6 Arulahoi a pawp awh lahunnah, amamae lungthin teh takhuen hmai patetlah a kâcai awh.
For they have drawn near, As an oven [is] their heart, In their lying in wait all the night sleep doth their baker, Morning! he is burning as a flaming fire.
7 Takhuen hmai patetlah a kâan awh teh, ahnimae lawkcengkung bawinaw hah a kak awh. Amamae siangpahrang pueng teh, a rawp awh. Kai na ka kaw e buet touh hai awm awh hoeh.
All of them are warm as an oven, And they have devoured their judges, All their kings have fallen, There is none calling unto Me among them.
8 Ephraim teh Jentelnaw hoi a kâkalawt awh. Ka kamhmi hoeh e vaiyei lah ao awh.
Ephraim! among peoples he mixeth himself, Ephraim hath been a cake unturned.
9 Amamouh ni panuek laipalah ramlouknaw ni a thaonae teh koung a ca pouh toe. A sam koung a po awh toe. Hatei, amamouh ni panuek awh hoeh.
Devoured have strangers his power, And he hath not known, Also old age hath sprinkled [itself] on him, And he hath not known.
10 Isarelnaw e kâoupnae teh amamae hmaitung vah a kamnue eiteh, BAWIPA Cathut koe ban awh hoeh. Cathut hai tawng awh hoeh.
And humbled hath been the excellency of Israel to his face, And they have not turned back unto Jehovah their God, Nor have they sought Him for all this.
11 Ephraim teh pouknae ka tawn hoeh e bakhu hoi a kâvan. Izip a kaw awh teh, Assiria vah a yawng awh.
And Ephraim is as a simple dove without heart, Egypt they called on — [to] Asshur they have gone.
12 A cei nah tangkuem koe tamlawk hoi ka heng vaiteh, kahlun e tavanaw patetlah ka man han. A kamkhuengnae koevah, ka thai e patetlah ka yue han.
When they go I spread over them My net, As the fowl of the heavens I bring them down, I chastise them as their company hath heard.
13 Ahnimouh teh, kai koehoi a yawng awh toe. Ahnimouh koe rawknae teh a pha. Bangkongtetpawiteh, kai na taran awh teh, kâ a tapoe awh. Ahnimanaw hah ka ratang ei, Kai na taran awh teh, laithoe a dei awh.
Woe to them, for they wandered from Me, Destruction to them, for they transgressed against Me, And I — I ransom them, and they have spoken lies against Me,
14 Ikhun dawk a cingou awh toteh, Kai na kaw awh hoeh. Cakang, Misur tui tawn laipalah, a kamkhueng awh teh, kai na taran awh.
And have not cried unto Me with their heart, but howl on their beds, For corn and new wine they assemble themselves, They turn aside against Me.
15 Kai ni ka yue ei, ka caksak ei, Kai na taran awh teh, kahawihoehe hah a pouk awh.
And I instructed — I strengthened their arms, And concerning Me they think evil!
16 Ka dumnae licung patetlah ao awh. Bawinaw teh, a pacekpahlek awh dawkvah, tahloi hoi a due awh han. Izipnaw ni a panuikhai awh han.
They turn back — not to the Most High, They have been as a deceitful bow, Fall by sword do their princes, From the insolence of their tongue, This [is] their derision in the land of Egypt!
