1 Ephraim ni a dei toteh, ayânaw ni a taki awh. Ahni teh Isarelnaw thung dawk ka talue e lah ao. Hatei, Baal bawknae koe a rawp toteh a due.
According to the word of Ephraim he adopted ordinances for himself in Israel; and he established them for Baal, and died.
2 Atuvah hoehoe a yon awh teh, mae thoumnae lahoi hlun e ngun kutsak, hahoi amamouh thoum e patetlah meikaphawknaw hah amamouh hanelah a sak awh. Hottelah a sak awh hnukkhu thuengnae ka sak e tami teh maitoca hah pahnuem seh a kâti awh.
And now they have sinned increasingly, and have made for themselves a molten image of their silver, according to the fashion of idols, the work of artificers accomplished for them: they say, Sacrifice men, for the calves have come to an end.
3 Hatdawkvah ahnimouh teh, amom e tâmai patetlah tang kamyawt e tadamtui patetlah cangkatinnae koe e bongparui ni a palek e cahik patetlah takhuen koehoi ka tâcawt e hmaikhu patetlah ao awh.
Therefore shall they be as a morning cloud, and as the early dew that passes away, as chaff blown away from the threshing-floor, and as a vapor from tears.
4 Hatei, kai teh, Izip ram hoi nangmouh kahlout sak e nangmae Jehovah Cathut lah ka o. Kai hloilah alouke Cathut hah nang ni na panuek hoeh. Kai hloilah rungngangkung Bawi awm hoeh.
But I am the Lord thy God that establishes the heaven, and creates the earth, whose hands have framed the whole host of heaven: but I shewed them not to thee that thou shouldest go after them: and I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no God but me; and there is no Saviour beside me.

According to their pastures, so they were completely filled; and their hearts were exalted; therefore they forgot me.
7 Hatdawkvah, ahnimouh koe Kai teh, sendek patetlah ka o pouh han. Lam teng ka pawm e kaisi patetlah ahnimanaw hah ka pawp han.
And I will be to them as a panther, and as a leopard.
8 A ca kahmat e tavom patetlah ahnimanaw hah ka taba vaiteh, a thabuem totouh ka phi pouh han. Sendek manu patetlah ka hmunae koe raw vah, ka kei han. Sarang lah ka o dawkvah, vekrasen lah ka phi han.
I will meet them by the way of the Assyrians, as a she-bear excited, and I will rend the caul of their heart, and the lions' whelps of the thicket shall devour them there; the wild beasts of the field shall rend them in pieces.
9 Oe Isarel, nang kabawmkung Kai hah na taran dawkvah, na rawk awh toe.
O Israel, who will aid [thee] in thy destruction?
10 Na siangpahrang teh nâne ao. Na onae khopueng dawk na rungngang haw seh. Nange lawkcengkungnaw teh nâne ao awh.
Where is this thy king? let him even save thee in all thy cities: let him judge thee, of whom thou saidst, Give me a king and a prince.
11 Siangpahrang hoi bawinaw na poe loe titeh na hei awh dawkvah, ka lungkhuek teh, siangpahrang hah na poe awh toe. Hahoi, puenghoi ka lungkhuek dawkvah, siangpahrang hah bout ka takhoe toe.
And I gave thee a king in mine anger, and kept [him] back in my wrath.
12 Ephraim ni a sak e yonnae hah ka tangoung teh, a yonnae hah ka pâtung pouh toe.
Ephraim [has framed] a conspiracy of unrighteousness, his sin is hidden.
13 Ahni teh, camo ka khe e napui patetlah runae a kâhmo nahane atueng a hnai toe. Ahni teh, ka pathu e capa lah ao. Khe tue a pha navah, khe thai laipalah vonthung ka saw lah ao.
Pains as of a woman in travail shall come upon him: he is thy wise son, because he shall not stay in the destruction of [thy] children.
14 Ahnimouh hah, phuen thaonae dawk hoi ka ratang vaiteh, duenae dawk hoi ka hlout sak han. Oe, duenae nange pali patawnae lah na o teh, Oe, phuen nange rawknae lah ka o sak han. Pan ka ngai nahanlah banglahai na ngai hoeh. (Sheol h7585)
I will deliver [them] out of the power of Hades, and will redeem them from death: where is thy penalty, O death? O Hades, where is thy sting? comfort is hidden from mine eyes. (Sheol h7585)
15 Ma e hmaunawngha koe teh, a paw na paw awh eiteh, Kanîtholae kahlî teh thingyei yawn koehoi tho vaiteh, sawkcanaw a hak han. Tuikhunaw remphui han. Hno pâkhuengnae im dawk e hnopai aphu kaawm naw teh, taran ni na lawp awh han.
Forasmuch as he will cause a division among [his] brethren, the Lord shall bring upon him an east wind from the desert, and shall dry up his veins [and] quite drain his fountains: he shall dry up his land, and [spoil] all his precious vessels.
16 Samaria kho teh, a Cathut a taran dawkvah, a rawk han. Khocanaw teh, tahloi hoi a rawp awh vaiteh, a due awh han. Camonaw teh talai dawk rekreksuk vaiteh, camo kavawnnaw e von hah a khei pouh awh han.
Samaria shall be utterly destroyed: for she has resisted her God; they shall fall by the sword, and their sucklings shall be dashed against the ground, and their women with child ripped up.
