1 Darius siangpahrang ni a uknae a kum pahni, ataruknae thapa apasuek hnin vah, profet Haggai hno lahoi Judah kaukkung Shealtiel capa Zerubbabel hoi vaihma kacue Jehozadak e capa Joshua koe ka tho e BAWIPA lawk teh,
In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of Jehovah by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying,
2 Ransahu BAWIPA Cathut ni a dei e teh, hete taminaw ni BAWIPA e im sak hanelah atueng phat hoeh rah ati awh.
Thus speaketh Jehovah of hosts, saying, This people say, It is not the time [for us] to come, the time for Jehovah’s house to be built.
3 Profet Haggai koehoi BAWIPA e lawk ka tho e teh,
Then came the word of Jehovah by Haggai the prophet, saying,
4 Oe! nangmae taminaw, namamouh na o nahane im teh lemphu coung hni touh e na tawn awh nahlangva vah, Kaie im teh ka rawkphai lahoi maw ao han.
Is it a time for you yourselves to dwell in your ceiled houses, while this house lieth waste?
5 Ransahu BAWIPA ni a dei e lawk teh, na tawksak awh e hno, kahawicalah pouk awh haw.
Now therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Consider your ways.
6 Nangmouh ni cati moi na kahei awh eiteh, a paw yitca dueng na pâkhueng awh. Na ca a eiteh na von paha awh hoeh. Na nei a eiteh na boum a hoeh. Khohna na kho a eiteh na bet a hoeh. Thaw tawknae phu na hmu a eiteh ka vuk e yawngya dawk na pâtung awh.
Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages [to put it] into a bag with holes.
7 Ransahu BAWIPA BAWIPA ni a dei e teh, na sak e thaw kahawicalah pouk awh haw.
Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Consider your ways.
8 Mon luen nateh thing hrawm awh haw. Kaie im sak awh haw. Kai hai ka lung akuep vaiteh ka bawilennae ka kamnue sak han telah BAWIPA ni a ti.
Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith Jehovah.
9 Nangmouh ni moi ka tawn han telah na ngaihawi a eiteh hno yitca dueng na hmu awh, im na thokhai awh navah Kai ni phei ka hmu. Bangkongmaw telah ransahu BAWIPA ni na pacei awh. Kaie im teh karawk lah paroup ao. Bangkongtetpawiteh, namamouh im lengkaleng na yawng a dawk doeh.
Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith Jehovah of hosts. Because of my house that lieth waste, while ye run every man to his own house.
10 Hatdawkvah nangmouh koe kho a kha vaiteh, tadamtui bawt mahoeh. Talai ni hai a paw paw sak mahoeh.
Therefore for your sake the heavens withhold the dew, and the earth withholdeth its fruit.
11 Talai van hai thoseh, monsom hai thoseh, cakui cakang, misur, satui dawk hai thoseh, talai dawk hoi ka tâcawt e pueng koehai thoseh, tami, moithang, saringnaw pueng koehai thoseh, tawksak e pueng dawk hai thoseh takang ka tho sak han a ti.
And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the grain, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labor of the hands.
12 Hat toteh, Shealtiel e capa Zerubbabel hoi vaihma kacue Jehozadak e capa Joshua koehoi kamtawng teh kacawie naw pueng ni, amamae BAWIPA lawk hai thoseh, BAWIPA ni a patoun e profet Haggai e lawk hai thoseh, a ngâi awh teh, BAWIPA a taki awh.
Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of Jehovah their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as Jehovah their God had sent him; and the people did fear before Jehovah.

Then spake Haggai Jehovah’s messenger in Jehovah’s message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith Jehovah.
14 BAWIPA niyah, Judah kaukkung Shealtiel capa Zerubbabel hoi vaihma kacue Jehozadak e capa Joshua koehoi kamtawng teh, kacawie naw pueng hah a hroecoe teh, ransabawi Jehovah hane im sak hanelah,
And Jehovah stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work on the house of Jehovah of hosts, their God,
15 Darius siangpahrang a bawinae kum pahni, ataruknae thapa, hnin 24 hnin vah a tho awh teh, amamae Cathut, ransahu BAWIPA e im dawk thaw a tawk awh.
in the four and twentieth day of the month, in the sixth [month], in the second year of Darius the king.
