< Galati 3 >

1 Galati tamipathunaw, thingpalam sawi pathout lah kaawm e Jisuh Khrih heh nangmae mithmu laplap kamnue sak e hah, lawkkatang na tarawi awh hoeh nahanlah apinimaw nangmouh na ân awh.
Foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you not to obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was openly portrayed amongst you as crucified?
I just want to learn this from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?
3 Nangmouh teh hettelah totouh na pathu awh rah maw. Muitha dawk hoi na kamtawng awh teh takthai koe lah maw na pâpout a han toung.
Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now completed in the flesh?
Did you suffer so many things in vain, if it is indeed in vain?
He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you and does miracles amongst you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?
6 Abraham teh Cathut a yuem dawkvah hote yuemnae teh ahnie lannae lah khoe pouh lah ao.
Even so, Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness.”
Know therefore that those who are of faith are children of Abraham.
8 Cathut ni Jentelnaw teh yuemnae lahoi a lan toe ti nahanelah, Cakathoung ni sut a dei tangcoung toe. Hatdawkvah, Cakathoung ni kamthang teh Abraham koe a dei tangcoung e patetlah nangmouh kecu dawk hoi Cathut ni talai tami pueng yawhawinae a coe han telah a ti.
The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the Good News beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you all the nations will be blessed.”
9 Hatdawkvah yuemnae ka tawn e naw teh, ka yuem e Abraham hoi cungtalah yawhawinae a coe awh.
So then, those who are of faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham.
10 Kâlawk ka kâuepnaw teh thoebo e rahim kaawm e lah o awh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, Cakathoung ni kâlawk dawk e naw pueng abuemlahoi koung ka tarawi hoeh e naw teh Cathut thoebo e lah ao telah a ti.
For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who doesn’t continue in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them.”
11 Tami kalan teh yuemnae lahoi a hring hanelah ao dawkvah, kâlawk tarawi e lahoi apihai Cathut hmalah tamikalan lah awm thai hoeh tie hah kamcengcalah a kamnue.
Now that no man is justified by the law before God is evident, for, “The righteous will live by faith.”
12 Hatei kâlawk teh yuemnae hoi kâkuen hoeh. Kâlawk ka tarawi e tami teh kâlawk lahoi a hring han a ti.
The law is not of faith, but, “The man who does them will live by them.”
13 Khrih ni maimouh hanelah thoebonae a khang dawkvah kâlawk e thoebonae thung hoi maimouh teh na ratang awh toe. Bangkongtetpawiteh thing sawi pathout lah kaawm e pueng teh thoebo e tami lah ao.
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,”
14 Hottelah na ratangnae teh Abraham ni a coe e yawhawinae teh Khrih Jisuh lahoi Jentelnaw koe a pha dawkvah, lawkkam pouh e Muitha hah yuemnae lahoi maimouh ni coe nahanelah doeh.
that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Brothers, speaking of human terms, though it is only a man’s covenant, yet when it has been confirmed, no one makes it void or adds to it.
16 Cathut ni Abraham hoi ahnie a catoun koe lawkkam a poe navah kapap e lah catounnaw tet pouh laipalah buet touh dueng dei ngainae lah na catoun atipouh. Ahni teh Khrih hah doeh.
Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his offspring. He doesn’t say, “To descendants”, as of many, but as of one, “To your offspring”, which is Christ.
17 Ka dei ngainae teh hettelah doeh, kum 430 aloum hnukkhu hoi ka tâcawt e kâlawk ni sut dei tangcoung e Cathut lawkkam teh raphoe thai hoeh. Hothloilah hnoun hai hnoun thai mahoeh.
Now I say this: A covenant confirmed beforehand by God in Christ, the law, which came four hundred and thirty years after, does not annul, so as to make the promise of no effect.
18 Bangkongtetpawiteh râw pangnae teh kâlawk dawk kamtue pawiteh, lawkkam e dawk kamtue hoeh toe. Hateiteh, Cathut ni hote râw hah lawkkamnae lahoi Abraham koe a poe toe.
For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no more of promise; but God has granted it to Abraham by promise.
19 Hottelah pawiteh, kâlawk teh bangmaw hawinae kaawm vaw, tetpawiteh, lawkkam ka coe hane catoun a tâco hoehnahlan yonnae kecu dawk poe e lah doeh ao. Kâlawk teh kalvantaminaw koehoi patuen laicei lahoi hruek e lah ao.
Then why is there the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the offspring should come to whom the promise has been made. It was ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator.
20 Laicei tie teh avoivang lahoi a kâkuet, Cathut teh buet touh duengdoeh.
Now a mediator is not between one, but God is one.
21 Hottelah pawiteh, kâlawk teh Cathut e lawkkam hoi a kâtaran maw. Kâtaran roeroe hoeh. Poe lah kaawm e kâlawk ni na hring sak thai katang pawiteh, lanae teh hote kâlawk lahoi coe e lah doeh awm ti.
Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could make alive, most certainly righteousness would have been of the law.
22 Hatei Jisuh Khrih yuemnae lahoi ka kâkuen e lawkkamnae teh ka yuem e taminaw koe poe nahanelah Cakathoung ni tami pueng hah yon thongim thung a paung.
But the Scripture imprisoned all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
23 Hatnavah yuemnae phung a tho hoehroukrak, kâlawk lahoi na hrawi awh teh, yuemnae phung a tho ditouh, kâlawk kut dawk maimouh teh na paung awh.
But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, confined for the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
So that the law has become our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 Hatei yuemnae phung a tho toung dawkvah maimouh teh na ka khoumkung kâlawk e kut rahim awm awh hoeh toe.
But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.
26 Bangkongtetpawiteh nangmouh pueng teh Khrih Jisuh na yuem awh e lahoi Cathut e ca lah na o awh toe.
For you are all children of God, through faith in Christ Jesus.
27 Khrih thung baptisma ka coe e tami pueng teh Khrih a khohna awh toe.
For as many of you as were baptised into Christ have put on Christ.
28 Nangmouh pueng teh Khrih Jisuh thung buet touh lah na o awh dawkvah, Judah miphun, Grik miphun tie awmhoeh, san hoi tami kahlout awmhoeh, tongpa hoi napui tie hai awmhoeh.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 Nangmouh teh Khrih e lah na awm awh pawiteh, Abraham catoun lah na o awh hloilah, lawkkam e patetlah râw kacoekung lah na o awh.
If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring and heirs according to promise.
