Ezekiel 31
1 Kum hlaibun, thapa yung thum, hnin pasuek nah BAWIPA e lawk kai koe a pha teh,
And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third month, on the first [day] of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
2 tami capa, Izip siangpahrang Faro hoi tamihunaw koe dei pouh. Na bawilennae a len teh, api hoi maw na kâvan,
Son of man, say to Pharao king of Egypt, and to his multitude; To whom have you compared yourself in your haughtiness?
3 Assiria na meihawi teh, a bu ka rung e a kang, ka rasang e hmuen, ratu a tâhlip kahawie, akangnaw hoi ka kuep e a som kaawm e Lebanon doeh.
Behold, the Assyrian was a cypress in Libanus, and was fair in shoots, and high in stature: his top reached to the midst of the clouds.
4 Tui kathounge ni ahni teh a roung sak teh, talai thung e tui ni a rasang sak teh a ungnae hmuen petkâkalup lah ka lawng e palang ni a lawng sin teh, ram dawk e thing pueng a kawk nahanelah a lawng sak.
The water nourished him, the depth made him grow tall; she led her rivers round about his plants, and she sent forth her streams to all the trees of the field.
5 Hot patetlah kahrawngum e thingnaw hah ka tapuet lah a roung teh, hoehoe a rasang, akangnaw a roung teh a saw awh, tui moikapap hoi a kawk e doeh.
Therefore was his stature exalted above all the trees of the field, and his branches spread far by the help of much water.
6 Kalvan e tava pueng ni a kangnaw dawk a tabu a tuk awh. Kahrawngum e saringnaw ni a kangnaw e a rahim vah a ca khe awh. Hote thingkung a tâhlip dawkvah, kalenpounge miphunnaw pueng khosak awh.
All the birds of the sky made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches all the wild beasts of the field bred; the whole multitude of nations lived under his shadow.
7 Hottelah, tui apapnae hmuen koe a tangpha a pabo dawkvah, a len teh, a kangnaw a saw teh, a meihawinae hoi a kuep.
And he was fair in his height by reason of the multitude of his branches: for his roots were amidst much water.
8 Cathut e takha dawk Sidar thingnaw ni hote thingkung teh ngue thai awh hoeh. Hmaica thing hoi Aramonkung naw hai hot patetlae a kang hoi kuep awh hoeh. Cathut e takha dawk e thingkung buet touh ni hote thingkung ka phat e awm hoeh.
And such cypresses [as this] were in the paradise of God; and there were no pines like his shoots, and there were no firs like his branches: no tree in the paradise of God was like him in his beauty,
9 Eden hmuen Cathut e takha dawk kaawm e thingkungnaw teh hote thingkung hah a ut awh totouh, a kang apap e lahoi ahnie meihawinae kai ni ka poe.
because of the multitude of his branches: and the trees of God's paradise of delight envied him.
10 Bawipa Jehovah ni hettelah a dei, hote Sidar thing teh, a rasangpoung teh a kangnaw hai tâmai totouh a pha dawkvah, a lungthin a kârasang.
Therefore thus says the Lord; Because you are grown great, and have set your top in the midst of the clouds, and I saw when he was exalted;
11 Miphunnaw dawk bahu a len teh, ka patawpoung lah lawkcengkung e a kut dawk kai ni ka poe toe. Ahni ni a sak e hno kecu dawk ka hrek han.
therefore I delivered him into the hands of the prince of the nations, and he wrought his destruction.
12 Miphunnaw thung dawk hoi taki ka tho poung e naw ni a tâtueng awh vaiteh, a tâkhawng awh han. Mon dawk thoseh, tanghling dawk thoseh, a kangnaw be a bo han. Hote ram dawk tui lawngnae ravo dawk a kangnaw be ka khoe han. Talai tami pueng a tâhlip dawk hoi a tâco awh vaiteh, a ceitakhai awh han.
And ravaging strangers from the nations have destroyed him, and have cast him down upon the mountains: his branches fell in all the valleys, and his boughs were broken in every field of the land; and all the people of the nations are gone down from their shelter, and have laid him low.
13 Kalvan e tavanaw hoi kahrawngum e saringnaw teh ka kâkhoe e a kangnaw van ao awh han.
All the birds of the sky have settled on his fallen trunk, and all the wild beasts of the field came upon his boughs:
14 Bangkongtetpawiteh, tui teng vah kaawm e thingkungnaw thung dawk a rasangnae a kâoupkhai hoeh nahane doeh. Talai rahim a rahnoumnae tangkom thung hoi, ka kum e tami capanaw koe cei hanelah, duenae be a kâman sak e lah ao toe.
in order that none of the trees by the water should exalt themselves by reason of their size: whereas they set their top in the midst of the clouds, yet they continued not in their high state in their place, all that drank water, all were consigned to death, to the depth of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.
15 BAWIPA Jehovah ni hettelah a dei, ahni teh duenae kho koe a ceinae hnin dawk kadungpoung e hmuen koe, ahni hanelah rohni hoi ka khu han, tuipui kaman teh, ka lenpoung e tuipui ka ban sak, ahni teh Lebanon hanelah rohni ka kho sak teh, kahrawngum e thing pueng ahni kecu dawk a lung a pout awh. Thus says the Lord God; In the day wherein he went down to Hades, the deep mourned for him: and I stayed her floods, and restrained her abundance of water: and Libanus saddened for him, all the trees of the field fainted for him. (Sheol h7585)
16 A rawpnae a pawlawk dawk, miphun hoi ka pâyaw sak teh, tangkom thung ka kum tangcoung e naw koe sheol ka pabo hnin vah, Eden thing pueng Lebanon thing kahawinaw hoi tui ka net e pueng hah talai rahim vah karoumcalah ao awh. (Sheol h7585)
At the sound of his fall the nations quaked, when I brought him down to Hades with them that go down to the pit: and all the trees of Delight comforted him in the heart, and the choice of [plants] of Libanus, all that drink water. (Sheol h7585)
17 Tahloi hoi thei e koe, ahnimouh hai sheol koe lah a kum awh van teh, miphunnaw koe a tâhlip rahim kho ouk kasaknaw a thasainae kutnaw hoi, (Sheol h7585)
For they went down to hell with him amongst the slain with the sword; and his seed, [even] they that lived under his shadow, perished in the midst of their life. (Sheol h7585)
18 Eden thingnaw thung dawk, bawilennae hoi lentoenae dawk apimaw nang patetlah kaawm. Hateiteh, Eden thingnaw hoi adungpoungnae koe tâkhawng e lah na o han, hetheh Faro hoi a tamihupuinaw doeh, telah BAWIPA ni a dei.
To whom are you compared? descend, and be you debased with the trees of paradise to the depth of the earth: you shall lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that are slain by the sword. Thus shall Pharao be, and the multitude of his host, says the Lord God.
