Ezekiel 22
1 Hothloilah, BAWIPA e lawk hah kai koe a pha teh,
And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
2 nang tami capa, thi ka Palawng e khopui hah lawk na ceng hah na maw, Bokheiyah panuet a thonae naw hah panuek sak.
And thou, son of man, wilt thou take to task, wilt thou take to task the city of blood? and wilt thou make her know all her abominations?
3 Ahnimouh koe Bawipa Jehovah ni hettelah a dei. Amae tueng roeroe navah thipalawngnae khopui atueng a pha nahanelah, amahoima kâkhinsak hanelah meikaphawk hah a sak.
Then say thou, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, O city that sheddeth blood in her midst, that her time [of sorrow] may come, and that hath made idols for herself to become unclean:
4 Tami hringnae na thei e lahoi yonpen e lah na o teh meikaphawk na sak e dawkvah na kâkhinsak. Namae na hnin na hnai sak teh, na kum apoutnae meimei a pha toe. Hatdawkvah, miphunnaw na pathoenae hoi ram pueng ni dudam e lah na o sak han.
Through thy blood which thou hast shed, are thou become guilty; and through thy idols which thou hast made art thou become unclean; and thou hast caused thy days [of destruction] to draw near, and thou art come even unto thy years; therefore do I make thee a disgrace unto the nations, and a mocking to all the countries.
5 Na tengpam e taminaw hoi lamhla e taminaw ni pathoenae hoi pacekpahleknae hoi ka kawi e patetlah na panuikhai han.
Those who are near, and those who are far from thee, shall mock thee, O thou unclean in name, and great in confusion!
6 Khenhaw! Isarel ukkungnaw ni nangmouh thi Palawng hanelah a thaonae rip a hno awh.
Behold, the princes of Israel were each [ready] with his arm within thee, in order to shed blood.
7 Nangmouh thung manu na pa hah a dudam awh teh, nangmae rahak alouke miphun khok hoi a coungroe awh teh, nangmouh dawk e nara hoi lahmai hah banglahai noutna awh hoeh.
Father and mother they esteemed lightly within thee, toward the stranger they acted with extortion in the midst of thee, the fatherless and the widow they oppressed within thee.
8 Nang ni kaie thoungnae naw banglahai noutna hoeh e lah na sak toe. Kaie sabbath hninnaw na tapoe toe.
My holy things thou didst despise, and my sabbaths thou didst profane.
9 Namamouh thung e tami thipalawng han na ngai teh, thuengnae moi, tami tangawn ni a ca awh, hno kathout ka sak e ao awh.
Tale-bearers [also] were within thee, in order to shed blood; and upon the mountains did they eat within thee; incest did they commit in the midst of thee.
10 Nangmouh thung dawk a na pa e yu hah caicinae na ramuk awh hoeh. Kampheng lahun e napui hai a yonkhai awh toe.
Their father's nakedness they uncovered within thee; her that was unclean in her separation did they violate within thee.
11 Nangmouh thung dawk tami tangawn ni amae imri yu koe panuettho e hno a sak awh toe, a langa a kamhnawngkhai awh toe, tangawn ni a tawncanu, a na pa e canu hah a pacekpahlek awh.
And one with his neighbor's wife did commit abomination; and another did defile his daughter-in-law with incest; and another did violate his sister, the daughter of his father, within thee.
12 Nangmouh thung dawk tami theinae han lah tadawnghno hai na la awh, apung na ca teh, tangka na cawi awh, imri e hnopai na lawp awh.
Bribes they took within thee, in order to shed blood; interest and increase didst thou take, and thou didst acquire gain off thy neighbors by extortion: and me thou didst forget, saith the Lord Eternal.
13 Hatdawkvah, nama ni na pâkhueng e hnopai namamouh thung dawk thi na Palawng e kecu dawk kai ni kut ka tambei sin han.
And behold, I have struck my hands together at thy wrongful gain which thou hast acquired, and at thy blood-guilt which hath been in the midst of thee.
14 Kai ni nang lawk na ceng toteh, na lungthin na cak sak thai han na ou. Na kut hai a tha ao thai han na ou. Kai BAWIPA ni ka dei tangcoung e patetlah ka sak han.
Will thy courage endure, or will thy hands remain strong, on the days that I will deal with thee? I the Lord have spoken, and will do it.
15 Nang hai ram miphun tangkuem koevah, na kâkayei sak han. Hateiteh, na khinnae hah be kahma sak han.
And I will scatter thee among the nations, and disperse thee in the countries, and I will entirely remove thy uncleanness out of thee.
16 Miphunnaw e hmaitung vah mahoima na kâkhinsak. BAWIPA lah ka o tie na panue han ati tet pouh telah ati.
And thou shalt be degraded through thyself before the eyes of nations, and thou shalt know that I am the Lord.
17 BAWIPA e lawk kai koe a pha teh,
And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
18 tami capa Isarel imthung hah kai hanelah sumei lah doeh ao. Ahnimanaw teh sôlêi e, tahmanghmai dawk phum e, rahum paling, rahum pangaw, sum hoi ngunei patetlah doeh ao awh.
Son of man, the house of Israel are become to me dross: they all are copper, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; the dross of silver are they become.
19 Hatdawkvah Bawipa Jehovah ni hettelah a dei. Ei rumram lah na o awh dawkvah, khenhaw! Jerusalem kho lungui na pâkhueng awh.
Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Because ye are all become dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.
20 Ngun, rahum paling, rahum pangaw, sum, konlawk naw hmai patawi sin teh a tui lah kamyawt hanelah, thawngnae dawk khuk papawp e patetlah kai teh ka lung puenghoi a khuek teh, nangmouh teh kho lungui vah na pâkhueng awh vaiteh, atui lah na kamyawt sak han.
As silver, and copper, and iron, and lead, and tin are gathered into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it: so will I gather you in my anger and in my fury and I will lay you down there, and melt you.
21 Atangcalah na pâkhueng awh vaiteh, kaie ka lungkhueknae hmai, ka patawi vaiteh, nangmouh teh kho thung atui lah na kamyawt awh han.
Yea, I will assemble you in a heap, and blow upon you with the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst of it.
22 Ngun thawngnae dawkvah atui lah kamyawt e patetlah nangmanaw teh kho thung vah atui lah na kamyawt awh vaiteh, kai BAWIPA ni nangmae lathueng vah, kaie ka lungkhueknae ka awi toe tie hah na panue awh han telah ati.
As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst of it: and ye shall know that I am the Lord who have poured out my fury over you.
23 BAWIPA e lawk kai koe a pha teh,
And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
24 tami capa ahni koe dei pouh nang teh, lungkhueknae ahni dawk kho ka rak hoeh e, khotui hah ka dawp hoeh e ram lah ao.
Son of man, say unto her, Thou art a land that is not cleansed; [and] which is not rained upon on the day of indignation.
25 Hote ram dawkvah, profetnaw teh a kâyouk awh toe. Ka huk ni teh moi ka kei e sendek patetlah taminaw a ca awh. Hno kuemnae hoi aphu kaawm e hnopainaw a lawp awh toe. Khothung vah lahmainaw moikapap lah ao sak awh.
The banded troop of her prophets in the midst of her is like a roaring lion that teareth in pieces the prey: souls do they devour; wealth and precious things do they take away; the number of her widows do they increase in the midst of her.
26 Ahnimae vaihmanaw ni hai kaie kâlawk a ek awh teh, kaie a thoungnae hmuen hai a khinsak awh. Kathounge hoi kathounghoehe hoi kapek awh hoeh. Kathounge hoi kathounghoehe mak kâkalawtsak awh, kaie sabbath hnin hai a kâpahnim sak awh.
Her priests violate my law, and profane my holy things: between the holy and profane do they make no distinction, and the difference between the unclean and the clean do they not make known, and from [the violation of] my sabbaths do they turn away their eyes, so that I am profaned among them.
27 Kahrawikungnaw ni hai moi ka kei e Asuinaw patetlah ram thung ao awh teh, kamsoumhoehe apung a tawng awh teh, tami hringnae a thei awh.
Her princes in her midst are like wolves that tear in pieces the prey, to shed blood, to destroy souls, in order to obtain selfish gain.
28 Ahnimae profetnaw ni thungpangaw a hluk awh teh, kaphawk e kamnuenae hah a hmu awh. Laithoe lahoi cungpam a rayu pouh awh. BAWIPA ni banghai a dei hoeh nakunghai, Bawipa Jehovah ni hettelah a dei, telah ouk ati awh.
And her prophets plastered for them with unadhesive mortar, foreseeing falsehood, and divining unto them lies, saying, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal; when the Lord had not spoken.
29 Khocanaw hai rektapnae tahloi hoi a tuk awh, ka roedengnaw hah pacekpahleknae Jentelnaw hai kahawihoehe lahoi a pacekpahlek awh.
The people of the land are guilty of extortion, and practise robbery, and the poor and the needy they defraud: and they extort from the stranger with injustice.
30 Ram hah ka raphoe hoeh nahan, rapan ka sak hane hoi ram e a yueng lah kai han e ka kangdout hanelah ahnimouh koe ka tawng, hatei ka hmawt hoeh.
And I seek now among them for a man, that could erect a fence, and stand in the breach before me in behalf of the land, so that I should not destroy it; but I find none.
31 Hatdawkvah, ka lungkhueknae teh ahnimae lathueng ka rabawk teh, ka lungkhueknae hmai hoi ka sawi. A hringnae hoi kamcu lah ahnimae lathueng ka pha sak e doeh telah Bawipa Jehovah ni a dei, tet pouh telah ati.
And I therefore pour out over them my indignation; with the fire of my wrath do I make an end of them: their own way do I bring upon their head, saith the Lord Eternal.
