Ezekiel 21
1 BAWIPA e lawk kai koe bout a pha teh,
And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
2 tami capa Jerusalem koe lah na minhmai hrueng haw, kathounge hmuen koe lah taranlahoi lawk hah dei haw. Isarel ram taranlahoi lawk hah pâpho haw.
Son of man, direct thy face toward Jerusalem, and preach toward the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel,
3 Isarel ram koevah, BAWIPA ni hettelah a dei. Khenhaw! nang teh na taran, a tabu dawk e tahloi ka rayu vaiteh, nangmouh thung e tamikalan hoi tamikathout hoi ka pâmit han.
And say to the land of Israel, Thus hath said the Lord, Behold, I will be against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of its sheath; and I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.
4 Bangkongtetpawiteh, nangmouh thung e tamikalan hoi tamikathout ka pâmit han. Hatdawkvah, atunglah hoi akalae moithang pueng taranlahoi kaie tahloi a tabu dawk hoi ka rayu vaiteh,
But because I shall have cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked: therefore shall my sword go forth out of its sheath against all flesh from the south to the north;
5 Kai BAWIPA ni tahloi a tabu dawk hoi ka rayu tie moithang pueng ni a panue thai nahan, bout ka raseng mahoeh toe, telah ati.
That all flesh may know that I the Lord have drawn forth my sword out of its sheath; it shall not return any more.
6 Hatdawkvah, nang tami capa hramki na teh lung ka rek lah ahnimae hmaitung vah pou hram haw.
But thou, son of man, do thou sigh: as though with broken loins, and with bitterness [of grief] shalt thou sigh before their eyes.
7 Bangkongmaw na cingou telah ati awh navah, nang ni kai teh kamthang lawk kecu dawk, ka cingou, a tho han a hnai toe, tamipueng ni puenghoi a taki awh teh a kut pueng a tha a youn awh han. A lung a pout awh vaiteh, a khokpakhunaw hai a tui lah kamyawt han. Hote hno teh a tho lahun tie a kong hah Bawipa Jehovah ni lawk a poe e a kuep sak han tie hah bout dei haw telah ati.
And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore sighest thou? that thou shalt say, For the report, because it cometh, when every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be made feeble, and every spirit shall become faint, and all knees shall be changed into water: behold, it cometh, and shall be brought to pass, saith the Lord Eternal.

And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
9 tami capa lawk dei nateh, hettelah BAWIPA ni a dei tahloi, tahloi, kahranpoung e lah o teh loukloukkaang sak toe.
Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus hath said the Lord, Say, The sword, the sword is sharpened, and also polished;
10 Takithopoung e kâtheinae o sak hanelah, hransak e lah ao teh, sumpapalik e patetlah a ang hanelah, ka ta e doeh. Nawmnae sak awh han rah na ou. Thingnaw pueng ni banglahai na noutna hoeh e patetlah ka capa e sonron ni na dudam.
In order to make a thorough slaughter is it sharpened; in order that it may glitter is it polished: how can we now rejoice, [when] the rod which reacheth my son excelleth in hardness every tree?
11 Hno thai nahanelah hran sak hanelah a poe toe. Hete tahloi heh kathetkung hane kut dawk poe hanelah hransaknae hoi loukloukkaang sak toe.
And he hath given it to be polished, to make it fit to grasp it in the hand: it is the sword which is sharpened, and it is polished, to place it into the hand of the slayer.
12 Tami capa kap nateh hram haw, bangkongtetpawiteh, taminaw hah taran e lah ao vaiteh, Isarel bawinaw pueng taran e lah ao han. Taki ka tho e tahloi hoi ka taminaw hah taran e lah ao. Hatdawkvah, na phai hah ratum.
Cry aloud and wail, O son of man; for it cometh against my people, it cometh against all the princes of Israel; brought together for the sword are they with my people: therefore strike [thy hand] upon thy thigh.
13 Bangkongtetpawiteh, hethateh tanouknae doeh. Tahloi ni sonron patenghai dudam pawiteh, bangtelah han ne. Sonron hah awm mahoeh toe telah BAWIPA ni a dei.
For a purification taketh place: and what if the irresistible rod will also come? [my son] would not be able to exist, saith the Lord Eternal.
14 Hatdawkvah, nang tami capa lawk pâpho haw, na kut hah tambei haw, due thainae tahloi hah vai thum touh palik. Theinae tahloi ni amamae rakhan tangkuem ouk ka kâen e, tami a tha ka sai e hah a kalup awh.
But thou, son of man, prophesy, and strike thy hands together, and let “The sword” be repeated the third time, the sword of the slain: it is the sword of the great that are slain, which lieth in wait for them everywhere.
15 Lungthin karawknaw, a rawknae hoe apap nahanelah, kahran e tahloi takhang tangkuem koevah, ka hruek toe. Aiyoe! sumpapalik e patetlah a ang, duenae tahloi.
In order to make timid the heart, and to multiply the stumbling-blocks, do I bring the howling of the sword against all their gates: ah! it is made bright, it is made thin-edged for the slaughter.
16 Aranglah kamlang nateh bouk nateh kâroesak. Avoilah kamlang nateh kâroesak haw, hahoi hmalah hoiyah bouk haw.
Gather up thy strength, go to the right hand, direct thyself, go to the left, whithersoever thy edge is turned.
17 Kai ni hai ka kut ka tambei vaiteh, ka kuep sak mingming han. Ka lungkhueknae kai BAWIPA ni hetheh ka dei toe ati tet pouh telah ati.
And I also, —I will strike my hands together, and I will cause my fury to be assuaged: I the Lord have spoken it.
18 BAWIPA e lawk kai koe bout a pha teh,
And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
19 tami capa Babilon siangpahrang tahloi a cei nahanelah, lamthung kahni touh sak. Hote lamthung kahni touh e teh, ram buet touh koehoi a tâco han. Lam a kâphinae dawk hmuen buet touh rawi nateh, khopui koelah ceinae longkha lah sak haw.
But thou, O son of man, appoint thee two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come; out of one land shall both of them come forth: and select a place; at the head of the way to a city do thou select it.
20 Lamthung hah Ammonnaw kho Rabah hoi tahloi a tâco thai nahan sak nateh, Judah ram a lungui e Jerusalem kalupnae hai sak haw.
A way shalt thou appoint, that the sword may come against Rabbah of the children of 'Ammon, and [the other] against Judah [dwelling] in Jerusalem the fortified.
21 Bangkongtetpawiteh, cungpam rayu hanelah Babilon siangpahrang teh lamthung kahni touh a kâcunae koe a kangdue, palanaw mak a kalawt teh, Terah meikaphawk lawk a pacei, a thin hah a khet.
For the king of Babylon hath halted at the parting of the way, at the commencement of the two ways, to use divination: he shaketh the arrows, he consulteth with images, he looketh at the liver.
22 Cungpam a rayunae koe a rang lae kut dawk Jerusalem hah a kamnue. Rapan raphoenae hoi tarantuknae hramkinae a pawlawk takhang koe tumdum e rapan raphoe nahane monrui paten hane hoi tungdumnae sak hane hoi,
At his right hand was the divination for Jerusalem, to erect battering-rams, to open the mouth with the [cry for] murder, to lift up the voice with shouting, to place battering-rams against the gates, to cast up a mound, and to build works of attack.
23 ahnimouh hoi lawkkamnae kasakkungnaw e hmaitung vah, kalanhoehe cungpam rayunae patetlah ao. Hateiteh la e lah ao thai nahan, a payonnae a pahnim hoeh nahan a thokhai han.
And it will appear unto them as a false divination in their eyes, to those that had sworn oaths; but he will bring to remembrance their iniquity, that they may be caught.
24 Hatdawkvah, Bawipa Jehovah ni hettelah a dei, na payonnae hah pahnim hoeh nahanelah na sak kecu dawk, kâlawk na eknae a kamnue. Hottelah na sak awh e hnonaw pueng dawk na yonnae pou a kamnue teh, pahnim hoeh e lah na o dawkvah, kut dawk man e lah na o awh han.
Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Because ye have brought your iniquity to remembrance, as your transgressions are discovered, so that your sins do appear in all your doings: because ye are thus brought to remembrance, ye shall be caught by [his] hand.
25 Hahoi nang Isarel kahrawikung, ka kamhnawng e, na yonnae rektapnae hnin roeroe a pha toe.
And thou, death-deserving wicked one, prince of Israel, whose day is come, at the time of the iniquity of the end, —
26 Bawipa Jehovah ni hettelah a dei, kahrawikung e lupawk teh tâkhawng pouh nateh, bawilukhung hai tâkhawng pouh. Hethateh, ama boiboe lah mahoeh, kârahnoumnaw hah tawmrasang awh nateh, tawmrasang e hah kârahnoum sak awh.
Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Remove the mitre, and take off the crown: this shall not be always so; exalt him that is low, and make him low that is high.
27 Bungling lah ka bang han, bungling lah ka bang han, bungling lah ka bang han. Katawnkung a tho hoehroukrak hot teh awm mahoeh, hothateh ama koevah ka poe han telah ati.
Overthrown, overthrown, overthrown will I render it: also this shall not belong [to any one], until he come whose right it is, and I will give it him.
28 Hahoi nang tami capa, lawk dei haw. Hettelah dei, Bawipa Jehovah ni Ammon miphun kong hoi a pathoenae kong dawk, hettelah a dei. Tahloi tahloi rayu e lah ao toe. Tami theinae hoi kahmasaknae dawkvah sumpapalik e patetlah a ang sak toe.
And thou, son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal concerning the children of 'Ammon, and concerning their reproach: even say thou, The sword, the sword is drawn; for the slaughter is it polished, to destroy, that it may continue to glitter;
29 Kamnuenae kaphawk na hmu sak teh tahloi teh tamikayon due hanelah, a hmâ ka cat e, a yonnae hnin a poutnae a pha hane, a lahuennaw dawk na cuek han ati navah laithoe doeh a dei awh.
While they foresee unto thee falsehood, while they divine unto thee lies, to lay thee by the necks of the slain wicked, whose day is come, at the time of the iniquity of the end.
30 Na tahloi hah a tabu dawk pâseng, nang na tâconae hmuen, na khenae roeroe koevah, nange na kong lawk ka ceng han.
Put back [the sword] into its sheath! in the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy origin, will I judge thee.
31 Ka ngaihoehnae hah na lathueng vah ka awi vaiteh, ka lungkhueknae hmai lah na lathueng vah ka patawi han, tami a nuen ka mathout raphoe kathoumpoung e kut dawk na raphoe han.
And I will pour out over thee my indignation, with the fire of my wrath will I blow against thee, and I will give thee up into the hand of brutish men, skilful in destroying.
32 Hmai lah patawi hanelah na o vaiteh, ram lungui vaihma thi hah a lawng han. Pou panue e lah na awm mahoeh toe, bangkongtetpawiteh, kai BAWIPA ni ka dei toe tet pouh telah ati.
To the fire shalt thou be given to be devoured; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land: thou shalt not be remembered [any more]; for I the Lord have spoken it.
