< Efisa 4 >

1 Nangmouh teh kaw lah na onae hoi ka kamcu lah na hring awh nahan Bawipa hanelah thongkabawt e kai ni tha na poe awh teh na hroecoe awh.
I exhort you, therefore, I, the prisoner in the Lord, to walk in a manner worthy of the calling wherewith ye were called: —
2 Bangpueng koehai kârahnoumnae, lungdo lungnemnae, lungsawnae, lungkâpatawnae hoi buet touh hoi buet touh kângaithoum awh.
With all lowliness and meekness, with long suffering, bearing one with another in love,
3 Lungmawngnae hoi na katekkung Muitha dawk buet touh lah onae hah a cak nahanelah panki awh.
Giving diligence to keep—the oneness of the Spirit in the uniting-bond of peace, —
4 Tak buet touh dueng doeh kaawm. Muitha buet touh dueng doeh kaawm. Ngaihawinae buet touh dueng dawk doeh nangmouh teh na kaw awh.
One body, and one spirit, even as ye were also called in one hope of your calling,
5 Bawipa buet touh dueng doeh kaawm. Yuemnae buet touh dueng doeh kaawm. Baptisma buet touh dueng doeh kaawm.
One Lord, one faith, one immersion,
6 Maimouh pueng e Pa, Cathut buet touh dueng doeh kaawm. Ahni teh maimouh pueng e lathueng vah ao teh, maimouh pueng lahoi ao teh, maimouh pueng e thung vah ao.
One God and Father of all—who is over all, and through all, and in all.
7 Hatei Khrih ni poehno na poe awh e patetlah mama ham lengkaleng rip coe awh.
To each one of you, however, hath favour been given, according to the measure of the free-gift of the Christ;
8 Hatdawkvah, Cakathoung dawk thut e teh, a rasangnae koe a luen navah man e san hah a hrawi teh, taminaw koe poehnonaw a poe.
Wherefore he saith—Ascending on high, he took captivity captive, [and] gave gifts unto men.
9 A luen ti navah ahmaloe talai thungvah a kum e hah a dei ngainae nahoehmaw!
Now this, He ascended; what is it, —save—that he also descended into the under parts of the earth?
10 Ka kum e teh alouke nahoeh. A cawngca pueng kuep sak hanlah kalvannaw pueng a tapuet teh ka luen takhang e hah doeh.
He that descended, he, it is who also ascended over-above all the heavens, that he might fill all things;
11 Khrih e a tak hah sak awh teh, Cathut e a taminaw ni a thaw tawk awh thai nahanelah a pathoup awh han.
And, he, gave—some, indeed, to be apostles, and some, prophets, and some, evangelists, and some, shepherds and teachers, —
12 A tangawn teh gunceinaw lah, atangawn teh profetnaw lah, atangawn teh evangelistnaw lah, atangawn teh pastornaw hoi kacangkhaikungnaw lah thaw lengkaleng a poe.
With a view to the fitting of the saints for the work of ministering, for an upbuilding of the body of the Christ;
13 Hottelah a poenae teh maimouh kaawm e pueng ni yuemnae dawk hai, Cathut Capa panuenae dawk hai, cungtalah roung awh teh, Khrih e kuepnae hmuen koe totouh pha awh nahane doeh.
Until we all advance—into the oneness of the faith, and the personal knowledge of the Son of God, into a man of full-growth, into the measure of the stature of the fulness of the Christ;
14 Bangkongtetpawiteh, taminaw e dumyennae hoi yonnae koe lah tacueknae, cangkhainae kahlî aphunphun ni avoivang lah a palek e camo patetlah bout awm awh laipalah,
That we may, no longer, be infants—billow-tossed and shifted round with every wind of teaching, —in the craft of men, in knavery suited to the artifice of error;
15 lungkâpatawnae dawkvah lawkkatang hah dei awh nateh bangpuengpa dawk lû lah kaawm e Khrih dawk roung awh nahane doeh.
But, pursuing truth—may, in love, grow into him in all things, —who is the head, Christ, —
16 Hote lû koehoi doeh tak abuemlah ni a kâkuet awh teh, kâletlout koe kaawm e pueng ni hai tha hoi akawi awh. Puengcang kaawm e pueng ni mamae thaw lengkaleng a tawk awh teh lungpatawnae dawk lengkaleng a roung awh.
Out of whom all the body—fitly framing itself together, and connecting itself, through means of every joint of supply, by way of energising in the measure of each single part—secureth the growing of the body, unto an upbuilding of itself in love.
17 Hatdawkvah paletpalut lah ka pouk awh ni teh kahring awh e Jentelnaw patetlah bout na hring awh hoeh nahan Bawipa e kâ lahoi lawk na thui awh.
This, therefore, am I saying and protesting in the Lord: —that, no longer, ye walk even as, the nations, walk—in the vanity of their minds,
18 Ahnimouh teh lungthin mit a dawn awh. Lungthin patanae lahoi khoeroe a panue awh hoeh dawkvah Cathut hringnae hoi a kâkapek awh.
Being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God—by reason of the ignorance that existeth within them, by reason of their hearts being turned into stone,
19 Ahnimouh teh kayayeirai panuek awh hoeh. Noenae dawk a sawtaw awh teh kakhin e hno aphunphun hah hoehoe a sak awh nahanlah mahoima radueknae kut dawk a kâpoe awh toe.
Who, indeed, having become past feeling, have delivered, themselves, up, with wantonness, unto making a trade of all impurity with greed.
20 Hot patetlah na o awh nahan Khrih e cangkhainae hah na kamtu awh hoeh.
Ye, however, have, not thus, learned the Christ: —
21 Jisuh dawk lawkkatang ao e patetlah a lawk hah na thai awh teh na kamtu awh.
If, at least, it is, him, ye have heard, and, in him, ye have been taught—even as truth is in Jesus, —
22 Ahmaloe na hringnae, dumyen hounlounnae, lungthin hoi rawknae koe ka phat e tami karuem hah na rading awh nahan cangkhai lah na o awh.
That ye were to strip off—as regardeth the former behaviour—the old man, who corrupteth himself according to his deceitful covetings,
23 Hottelah cangkhai lah na onae teh a katha e lungthin na tawn awh nahane doeh.
And were to be getting young again in the spirit of your mind,
24 A katang e lannae hoi thoungnae dawk Cathut hoi kâvan lah sak lah kaawm e tami katha hah khohnat awh.
And were to put on the man of new mould, who, after God, hath been created in his truthful righteousness and loving kindness.
25 Hatdawkvah, laithoe e lawk hah takhoe awh nateh, lawkkatang dueng hah buet touh hoi buet touh kâdei awh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, maimouh pueng teh tak buet touh e puengcang lah o awh.
Wherefore, stripping off what is false, be speaking truth each one with his neighbour, because we are members one of another;
26 Na lungkhueknae dawk yon bawk sak awh hanh. Na lungkhueknae roum laipalah kanîloum sak awh hanh.
Be ye angry, and not committing sin, let not the sun be going down upon your angry mood,
27 Kahraimathout hanelah hmuen poe awh hanh.
Neither be giving place unto the adversary;
28 Ouk ka parawt e ni bout parawt laipalah karoedengnaw a poe thai van nahan a kut hoi thaw kahawi tawk naseh.
Let, the stealer, no more, steal, but rather let him be toiling, —working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have [wherewith] to be giving away to him that hath need;
29 Kakhin e lawk kam touh boehai nangmae pahni dawk hoi tâcawt sak awh hanh. Ka thai e taminaw hanelah ahawinae ao nahan a panki e patetlah roung nahane lawk dueng mah dei awh.
Let, no putrid discourse, out of your mouth, be going forth, but if anything is good—suited to the needful upbuilding, —that it may give benefit unto them that hear;
30 Ratangnae hnin totouh hanelah nangmouh tacikkinkung Cathut e Kathoung Muitha hah a lung mathout sak awh hanh.
And be not grieving the Holy Spirit of God, wherewith ye have been sealed unto a day of redemption;
31 Lungduemnae, Lungphuennae, Lungkhueknae hramkinae, tami minhmai ka mathout lah lawk deinae, hounroenae pueng hah takhoe awh.
All bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and outcry, and profane speaking, let it be taken away from you, with all baseness;
32 Buet touh hoi buet touh kahawi hno saknae, kâpahrennae, Cathut ni Khrih thung vah nangmae yon a ngaithoum e patetlah buet touh hoi buet touh yon kângaithoum awh.
And be ye gracious one to another, tenderly affectionate, in favour forgiving one another—even as, God also, in Christ, hath in favour forgiven you;
