Kâboutpoenae 21
1 Na BAWIPA Cathut ni coe hanelah na poe e ram dawk kahrawng vah, tami ni a thei e ro na hmu teh kathetkung na panuek hoehpawiteh,
If one be founde slaine in the lande, which the Lord thy God giueth thee to possesse it, lying in the field, and it is not knowe who hath slaine him,
2 kacuenaw hoi lawkcengkungnaw a tho awh vaiteh, ro hoi a tengpam e khonaw hah a hnai ahla e a bangnue awh han.
Then thine Elders and thy Iudges shall come forth, and measure vnto the cities that are round about him that is slayne.
3 Ro hoi kahnai poung e kho dawk e kacuenaw ni hno boihoeh rae maitola a hrawi awh han.
Aud let ye Elders of that citie, which is next vnto the slaine man, take out of the droue an heifer that hath not bene put to labour, nor hath drawen in the yoke.
4 Hote kacuenaw ni, hote maitola hah, thawn hoeh rae, cati kahei hoeh rae, pou kalawng e palang koe a hrawi awh vaiteh, hote hmuen koe palang vah maitola e lahuen a tâtueng pouh awh han.
And let the Elders of that citie bring the heifer vnto a stonie valley, which is neyther eared nor sowen, and strike off the heifers necke there in the valley.
5 Levih miphun vaihmanaw ni a thosin awh han. Bangkongtetpawiteh, a thaw tawk hane hoi BAWIPA e min yawhawi poe sak hanelah, ahnimanaw hah BAWIPA ni a rawi toe. Ahnimae pahni dawk hoi, kâyuenae pueng hoi kutkhok payonnae pueng teh pâbaw e lah ao han.
Also the Priests the sonnes of Leui (whom the Lord thy God hath chosen to minister, and to blesse in the name of the Lord) shall come forth, and by their word shall all strife and plague be tried.
6 Ro hoi kahnai poung e kho dawk e kacuenaw pueng ni, palang vah a lahuen tâtueng pouh tangcoung e maito van a kut a pâsu awh han.
And all the Elders of that citie that came neere to the slayne man, shall wash their hands ouer the heifer that is beheaded in the valley:
7 Hathnukkhu ahnimouh ni a dei awh hane teh, kaimae kut ni hete a thi palawng hoeh, kaimouh ni kahmawt awh hoeh. Oe BAWIPA, na rawi teh na rungngang e na tami Isarelnaw yontha pouh haw. A yonnae kaawm hoeh e tami e a thi palawngnae yon hah na tami Isarelnaw koe bawt sak hanh loe. Thi palawngnae yon teh tha pouh loe, telah a dei awh han.
And shall testifie, and say, Our handes haue not shed this blood, neither haue our eies seene it.
8 Oe! BAWIPA na ratang e na tami Isarelnaw hah pahren haw. Due kamcu hoeh e tami theinae yon teh na tami Isarelnaw koe phat sak hanh loe telah na dei han. Hottelah na tet pawiteh, tami theinae yontha lah ao han.
O Lord, be mercifull vnto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay no innocent blood to the charge of thy people Israel, and the blood shalbe forgiuen them.
9 Hottelah nang ni BAWIPA hma lah hawinae na sak navah, due kamcu hoeh e thi teh a takhoe han.
So shalt thou take away the cry of innocet blood from thee, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the Lord.
10 Nang ni taran na tuk teh, na BAWIPA Cathut ni na kut dawk na poe teh na man torei teh,
Whe thou shalt go to warre against thine enemies, and the Lord thy God shall deliuer them into thine hands, and thou shalt take the captiues,
11 na man e taminaw hah a meikahawi e napui hah na hmu teh yu lah la hane na ngai pawiteh,
And shalt see among the captiues a beautifull woman, and hast a desire vnto her, and wouldest take her to thy wife,
12 nama im na kaw vaiteh, ahni ni a lû a ngaw vaiteh, a kutpatin a raimen vaiteh,
Then thou shalt bring her home to thine house, and she shall shaue her head, and pare her nayles,
13 na mannae khohna a rading vaiteh, thapa yung touh thung a manu na pa rabui laihoi na im vah ao hnukkhu, na yu lah na la vaiteh, ahni teh nange yu lah ao han.
And she shall put off the garment that shee was taken in, and she shall remaine in thine house, and bewaile her father and her mother a moneth long: and after that shalt thou go in vnto her, and marry her, and she shalbe thy wife.
14 Hathnukkhu ahni hah na ngai hoeh toung pawiteh, ama ngai nah koe na cei sak han. Ahni hah na kaya sak dawkvah, tangka lah na yawt mahoeh. San lah na tat mahoeh.
And if thou haue no fauour vnto her, then thou mayest let her go whither she will, but thou shalt not sell her for money, nor make marchandise of her, because thou hast humbled her.
15 Vâ ka pahren e hoi vâ ka hmuhma e yu roi ni a ca a khe roi teh, camin hah vâ ka hmuhma e capa lah awm pawiteh,
If a man haue two wiues, one loued and another hated, and they haue borne him children, both the loued and also the hated: if the first borne be the sonne of the hated,
16 ahni ni a râw hah a rei toteh, hmuhma e capa hah pabo vaiteh, a pahren e capa hah na tawmtakhang mahoeh.
Then when the time commeth, that hee appointeth his sonnes to be heires of that which he hath, he may not make the sonne of the beloued first borne before the sonne of the hated, which is the first borne:
17 Hmuhma e capa teh camin doeh telah na pâpho vaiteh, let hni touh e râw hah na poe han. Bangkongtetpawiteh, hote capa teh na pa e tha kamtawngnae doeh. Caminnae hmuen hoi a kamcu doeh.
But he shall acknowledge the sonne of the hated for the first borne, and giue him double portion of all that he hath: for hee is the first of his strength, and to him belongeth the right of the first borne.
18 Na pa koe capa kathout, a lungpata ni teh manu na pa e lawk ka ngai hoeh e, manu na pa ni a yue ei, banglah ka noutna hoeh e awm pawiteh,
If any man haue a sonne that is stubburne and disobedient, which wil not hearken vnto the voice of his father, nor the voyce of his mother, and they haue chastened him, and he would not obey them,
19 manu na pa ni hote capa hah a sawn vaiteh, kho thung kacuenaw onae koe kho longkha koe a ceikhai vaiteh,
Then shall his father and his mother take him, and bring him out vnto the Elders of his citie, and vnto the gate of the place where he dwelleth,
20 kaimae capa teh ka mathout e lah doeh a o. Ka carawng ni teh yamuhri lah kaawm e doeh telah kho thung kacuenaw koe a dei pou han.
And shall say vnto the Elders of his citie, This our sonne is stubburne and disobedient, and he wil not obey our admonition: he is a riotour, and a drunkard.
21 Khoca tongpa pueng ni, hote capa hah talung hoi a dei awh vaiteh, a thei awh han. Hottelah nangmouh thung hoi payonnae hah na takhoe awh vaiteh, Isarelnaw pueng ni hote kamthang hah a thai awh vaiteh a taki awh han.
Then all the men of his citie shall stone him with stones vnto death: so thou shalt take away euill from among you, that all Israel may heare it, and feare.
22 Due kamcu e yon ka tawn e tami hah thing dawk na kaithi sak pawiteh,
If a man also haue committed a trespasse worthy of death, and is put to death, and thou hangest him on a tree,
23 hote ro hah thing dawk karum tuettuet na tat mahoeh. Ama hot hnin roeroe vah talai dawk na pakawp roeroe han. Thing dawk kaithi sak e tami teh thoebo lah kaawm e tami doeh. Na BAWIPA Cathut ni na pang hanelah na poe e râw hah na khin sak awh hoeh nahanlah hottelah na sak awh han.
His body shall not remaine all night vpon the tree, but thou shalt bury him the same day: for the curse of God is on him that is hanged. Defile not therfore thy land which the Lord thy God giueth thee to inherite.
