1 Nangmouh teh, BAWIPA Cathut e ca lah na o awh. Kadoutnaw hanelah na tak na kâbouk mahoeh. Na mitmuen hai na ngaw mahoeh.
Ye are the children of Yhwh your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.
2 Nangmouh teh BAWIPA Cathut hanelah kathounge miphun lah na o awh. BAWIPA ni talai van dawk kaawm e miphun pueng hlakvah, ama ni tawn e miphun lah na o awh nahanelah nangmouh na rawi awh toe.
For thou art an holy people unto Yhwh thy God, And Yhwh hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.
3 Panuetkatho e na cat mahoeh.
Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.
4 Na ca hane saringnaw teh, maito, tu, hmae,
These are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,
5 sakhi, sazuk, saya, atha, savi, kahrawngmaito, mon dawk e tu ti e
The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow deer, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the wild ox, and the chamois.
6 khoksamen samka ni teh a thepkaai e pueng teh na ca thai awh.
And every beast that parteth the hoof, and cleaveth the cleft into two claws, and cheweth the cud among the beasts, that ye shall eat.
7 Hatei, a thepkaai niteh, a khoksamen ka samka e naw thung dawk na ca hoeh hane naw teh, kalauk, saveh, cahi, naw heh athepai eiteh, a khoksamen a samka hoeh dawkvah kakhin e lah ao.
Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you.
8 Vok teh a khoksamen a samka eiteh, athepai hoeh dawkvah, nangmouh hanelah a khin. a moi na cat awh mahoeh. A ro hai na tek awh mahoeh.
And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase.
9 Tui dawk kaawm e naw thung dawk hetnaw heh na ca awh han. A pathuet hoi a lakep kaawm pueng na ca thai awh.
These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat:
10 A pathuet hoi a lakep kaawm hoeh e pueng na cat awh mahoeh, nangmouh hanelah a khin.
And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you.
11 Kathounge tava aphunphun na ca thai awh.
Of all clean birds ye shall eat.
12 Na ca hoeh hane tavanaw teh, langta, tuilangta, mataw,
But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
And the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind,
And every raven after his kind,
15 kalaukva, basairek, batuiling, pingpit,
And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,
16 bukbu, kawhna, balengek,
The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan,
And the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant,
18 kahrawngcawmpai, bongpi,
And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.
19 a rathei a tawn ei, kâva e saring pueng teh nangmouh hanelah a thoung hoeh dawkvah, na cat awh mahoeh.
And every creeping thing that flieth is unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten.
20 Kathounge tava pueng na ca thai awh.
But of all clean fowls ye may eat.
21 A mahmawk kadout e moi na cat mahoeh. Na tengonaw ni a ca hanelah na poe han. Hoehpawiteh, ramlouk e tami longkha thung kaawmnaw koe na yo han. Nangmouh teh nangmae BAWIPA Cathut hanelah kathounge miphun lah na o awh. Hmaeca hah a manu e sanutui hoi mek na thawng mahoeh.
Ye shall not eat of any thing that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an alien: for thou art an holy people unto Yhwh thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother’s milk.
22 Kum tangkuem na law dawk hoi ka tâcawt e pueng pung hra pung touh na kapek awh han.
Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.
23 Nangmae BAWIPA Cathut ni a min ao nahanelah a rawi e hmuen koe cakang, misurtui, satui hoi tuhu, maitohu naw dawk e camin pung hra pung touh hah a hmalah na ca awh han.
And thou shalt eat before Yhwh thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy grain, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear Yhwh thy God always.
24 Nangmae BAWIPA Cathut ni yawhawi na poe awh torei teh, a min ao nahanelah a rawi e hmuen teh, ekvoi ahla dawkvah, pung hra pung touh na phawt thai awh hoeh pawiteh,
And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which Yhwh thy God shall choose to set his name there, when Yhwh thy God hath blessed thee:
25 hote hno hah na yo vaiteh, tangka na sin vaiteh, na BAWIPA Cathut ni a rawi e hmuen koe na cei vaiteh,
Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which Yhwh thy God shall choose:
26 ca han na ngai e patetlah maito, tu, misurtui, yamu tie ca han na ngai e pueng hah na ran vaiteh, BAWIPA Cathut e hmalah, na imthung abuemlahoi na ca awh vaiteh, kanawm lah na o awh han.
And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul desires, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before Yhwh thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,
27 Hatei, nangmae longkha thung kaawm e Levih miphunnaw teh, a ham awm hoeh, râw hai ao hoeh dawkvah, na hnoun awh mahoeh.
And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.
28 A kum thum dawk na hmu awh e pueng hah pung hra pung touh na tâcokhai awh vaiteh, khothung longkha vah na pâkueng awh han.
At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:
29 Nangmouh koe kaawm e ham kaawm hoeh e, râw kaawm hoeh e Levihnaw koe kaawm van e Jentelnaw, naranaw, na longkha thung kaawm e lahmainaw a tho awh vaiteh, a ca awh han. Hottelah na sak pawiteh, nangmae BAWIPA Cathut ni na sak e pueng dawk yawhawi na poe awh han.
And the Levite, ( because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee, ) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that Yhwh thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.
