1 Kaisarea kho dawk Itali ransahu tie ransa cum touh kaukkung Konilias teh ao.
Now there was a certain man in Caesarea named Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment,
2 Ahni teh bawknae koe lah kâyawm poung e lah ao, a imthung ni Cathut ka bari e lah ao awh teh, Judah tami dawk e karoedengnaw a kabawp teh Cathut koe pou a ratoum,
devout and fearing God with all his household, both giving alms generously to the people and praying to God about everything.
3 Hnin touh teh tangmin lah suimilam kathum tapat navah vision kacaicalah a hmu. Hote vision a hmu e dawk, Cathut e kalvantami buet touh a kâen teh Konilias telah a pato.
About the ninth hour of the day, in a vision, he saw clearly an angel of God entering his presence and saying to him, “Cornelius!”
4 Kalvantami hah lungpuen lahoi khei a khet teh bangne Bawipa telah ati.
Well, staring at him and being frightened he said, “What is it, Lord?” So he said to him: “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God.
5 Hatdawkvah atu Joppa khovah tami patoun nateh a min Piter tie Simon hah kaw sak loe.
Now send men to Joppa and summon Simon, who is surnamed Peter;
6 Ahni teh tuipui teng kaawm e phaivuen ka sak e Simon im a luen telah ati.
he is lodging with one Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea.”
7 Hottelah ka dei e kalvantami a cei hnukkhu Konilias ni,
So when the angel who spoke to him had departed, Cornelius called two of his household servants and a devout soldier from among those who were faithful to him,
8 a vaica kahni touh hoi Cathut lawk dawk kaawm e ransa buet touh a kaw teh Joppa kho lah a patoun.
and explaining everything to them he sent them to Joppa.
9 Atangtho teh Joppa kho a pha tawmlei suimilam kahni kalekkalak nah Piter teh ratoum hanlah lemphu van a luen.
Now on the next day, as they were traveling and drawing near to the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray at about noon.
10 A vonhlam teh ayânaw ni coungkacoe lah rawca a lawng lahun nah, Piter ni kamnuenae a hmu.
Well he became hungry and wanted to eat; but while they were preparing, a trance fell on him,
11 Kalvan kamawng teh hni hoi ka kâvan e a takin pali touh e talai dawk ama koe ka bawt e hah a hmu.
and he saw the heaven opened and a container like a great sheet descending to him—it was tied at the four corners and was being let down to the earth—
12 Hote tangoung thungvah tava phunkuep, kâroe e phunkuep, saring phunkuep ao. Hathnukkhu Piter thaw nateh, thet nateh cat haw tie lawk a thai navah,
in which were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth (both wild animals and reptiles) and birds of the sky.
13 Piter ni coung thai hoeh Bawipa,
Then a voice came to him, “Get up, Peter, slaughter and eat!”
14 kathounghoehe hno, kakhin e hnonaw kai ni vai touh hai ka cat boihoeh atipouh.
But Peter said: “No way, Lord! Never have I eaten anything ‘common’ or unclean!”
15 Hathnukkhu apâhni lawk bout ka tho e teh Cathut ni a thoung tie hno hah thoung hoeh telah dei hanh atipouh.
So the voice came to him a second time, “What (pl) God has made clean you must not call ‘common’!”
16 Hettelah avaithumnae a kamnue hnukkhu, Cathut ma ni hote hno teh kalvan lah bout a tawm.
Well this happened three times, and then the object was taken back up into the sky.
17 Piter ni a hmu e vision hah bang ngainae vaimoe titeh kângairu lahun nah, Konilias ni a patoun e naw ni Simon im pacei laihoi a tawng awh teh longkha koehoi,
Now as Peter was really perplexed within himself as to what the vision that he had seen might mean, well the men who had been sent by Cornelius, having inquired and found Simon's house, stood before the gate,
18 Piter telah kaw e Simon hah hete im dawk a luen maw telah a pacei awh.
and calling out they inquired whether Simon, who was surnamed Peter, was staying there as a guest.
Thaw nateh kum haw ahnimouh teh,
So as Peter was pondering the vision the Spirit said to him: “Listen, some men are looking for you;
20 kai ni ka patoun e doeh. Lung kâounnae awm laipalah kâbang lawih atipouh.
so get up and go downstairs; and go with them, doubting nothing, for I have sent them.”
21 Hatdawkvah Piter ni a kum teh na tawng awh e teh kai doeh. Bang panki lahoi maw na tho awh, atipouh.
So going down to the men Peter said: “Yes, I am the one you are looking for. For what reason have you come?”
So they said: “Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous and God-fearing man, well spoken of by all the nation of the Jews, was divinely instructed by an angel to summon you to his house, and to hear words from you.”
23 Piter ni taminaw teh imthungkhu kâen awh atipouh teh hote tangmin teh hawvah a roe awh. A tangtho a kârasoup awh teh ahnimouh koe a cei. Joppa kho e hmaunawngha a tangawn hai a cei van.
So he invited them in and put them up. The next day Peter set out with them, also some of the brothers from Joppa went with him;
24 Tawkkahnin Kaisarea a pha awh teh hawvah Kornilias hoi avaica a huikonaw a coun e naw ni a ring awh.
and the following day they entered Caesarea. Now Cornelius was waiting for them, having called together his relatives and close friends.
25 Piter a kâen tahma Konilias ni a dawn teh a hmalah a tabo.
So when Peter actually arrived, Cornelius met him, fell at his feet and worshiped.
26 Piter ni kangdout atipouh, kai hai tami van doeh atipouh.
But Peter lifted him up, saying: “Stand up! I myself am also a man.”
27 Piter ni Konilias pato laihoi imthungkhu a kâen nah, tami moikapap a kamkhueng e hah a hmu.
And conversing with him he went in and found many gathered there.
Then he said to them: “You know how it is unlawful for a Jewish man to associate with or to approach a different race; but God has shown me that I should not call any man ‘common’ or unclean.
Hatdawkvah bangkongmaw na kaw awh, dei a haw telah atipouh.
Therefore also I came without objection as soon as I was sent for. So I ask, for what reason did you send for me?”
30 Konilias ni hettelah ati. Atu totouh rawca ka hai, suimilam kathum nah im vah ka ratoum. Atu hnin pali a pha toe. Hnipangaw a kâkhu teh kaie hmalah a kangdue.
So Cornelius said: “I have been fasting during four days until this very hour; yes, it was the ninth hour, I was praying in my house when wow, a man stood before me in shining clothing
Nange poehnonaw haiyah Cathut hmalah pahnim hoeh hanelah ao.
and said: ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your alms are remembered before God.
32 Hatdawkvah Joppa kho kaawm Piter tie Simon hah kaw hanlah patoun leih. Tuipui teng phaivuen thaw ka tawk e Simon im doeh a luen. Ahni a tho torei teh nang koe a dei han doeh na ti pouh.
Send therefore to Joppa and summon Simon, who is surnamed Peter. He is lodging in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea; upon arriving he will speak to you.’
So I sent to you at once, and you did well to come. Now then, we are all present before God to hear all the things commanded you by God.”
34 Hatnavah Piter ni a kâko a paawng teh, lawkkatang lah Cathut teh tami minhmai khen hoeh ati.
So opening his mouth Peter said: “Really, I comprehend that God is not One to show partiality,
35 Alouklouk e taminaw hai Cathut taki laihoi thaw kathoungrouk lah ka tawk e tami teh minhmai kahawi a hmu tie kai ni ka panue.
but in every ethnic nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is acceptable to Him.

And He ordered us to proclaim to the people, that is, to testify that He is the One who has been ordained by God as Judge of living and dead.

While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all who were hearing the message.
45 Jentel miphunnaw ni Kathoung Muitha e lungmanae a coe awh dawk, vuensom ka a e, Piter hoi a hnukkâbangnaw a kângairu awh.
Well the believers of the circumcision [Jews] who had come with Peter were astonished, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had also been poured out on the Gentiles,
46 Bangkongtetpawiteh, ahnimouh ni alouklouk lae lawk lahoi Cathut a pholen awh.
in that they heard them speaking languages and magnifying God. Then Peter responded:
“Surely no one can forbid the water, can he, that these should not be baptized who received the Holy Spirit just like we did?”
48 Jisuh Khrih e min lahoi baptisma coe sak hanlah kâ a poe. Hathnukkhu teh Piter hah ahnimanaw ni atueng ka saw hnawn lah okhai hane a kâhei awh.
So he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they asked him to stay a few days.
