1 Devit ni, Sawl hoi a taran pueng e kut thung hoi BAWIPA ni a rungngang nah hnin vah, BAWIPA e hmaitung a sak e lanaw teh:
And David speaketh to Jehovah the words of this song in the day Jehovah hath delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul,
2 BAWIPA teh kaie lungsong, kaie rapan, kai na kahloutsakkung bawi.
and he saith: 'Jehovah [is] my rock, And my bulwark, and a deliverer to me,
3 Ka thaonae kaie Cathut, kai ni ka kâuep e, ka bahling hoi kai rungngangnae ki, ka rapanim kânguenae lah ao. Kaie rapan lah na o. Rektapnae thung hoi na rungngang haw.
My God [is] my rock — I take refuge in Him; My shield, and the horn of my salvation, My high tower, and my refuge! My Saviour, from violence Thou savest me!
4 Pholen han kamcu e BAWIPA teh ka kaw vaiteh, taran kut dawk hoi na rungngang han.
The Praised One, I call Jehovah: And from mine enemies I am saved.
5 Duenae tuicapa ni na kalup teh Cathut banglah noutnahoehnae tuicapa ni na taki sak.
When the breakers of death compassed me, The streams of the worthless terrify me,
6 Sheol lungmathoenae ni na kalup awh teh, duenae karapnaw ni sut na pawp. (Sheol )
The cords of Sheol have surrounded me, Before me have been the snares of death. (Sheol )
7 Ka lungreithai navah, BAWIPA ka kaw teh, ka Cathut koevah ka hram. Bawkim dawk hoi ka lawk a thai teh, ka hramnae lawk hah a hnâ thung a kâen.
In mine adversity I call Jehovah, And unto my God I call, And He heareth from His temple my voice, And my cry [is] in His ears,
8 Hatnavah, a lungkhueknae lahoi talai a kâhuetsak, kalvan du ditouh lengleng a kâhuet.
And shake and tremble doth the earth, Foundations of the heavens are troubled, And are shaken, for He hath wrath!
9 A hnawng dawk hoi hmaikhu a tâco teh, a pahni dawk hoi hmaikaknae lahoi, hmaisaan kaman sak.
Gone up hath smoke by His nostrils. And fire from His mouth devoureth, Brands have been kindled by it.
10 Ama ni kalvan hai a pakui teh, a khoktabei rahim kho lah a hmo.
And He inclineth heaven, and cometh down, And thick darkness [is] under His feet.
11 Cherubim a kâcui teh a kamleng. Bokheiyah, kahlînaw e rathei van a hmu awh.
And He rideth on a cherub, and doth fly, And is seen on the wings of the wind.
12 A hmonae hah ama kalupkung lah a sak teh, tui hoi katha poung e tâmainaw a pâkhueng teh,
And He setteth darkness Round about Him — tabernacles, Darkness of waters — thick clouds of the skies.
13 a hma lae angnae lahoi hmaisaan a kaman sak.
From the brightness before Him Were brands of fire kindled!
14 BAWIPA teh kalvan vah a cairing teh, ka lentoe poung e Cathut ni lawk a dei.
Thunder from the heavens doth Jehovah, And the Most High giveth forth His voice.
15 Licung samtang a pathui teh, ahnimanaw a kâkayei sak. Sumpapalik sak teh ahnimanaw hah a rawk sak.
And He sendeth forth arrows, And scattereth them; Lightning, and troubleth them;
16 BAWIPA ni yuenae hoi a hnawng dawk hoi kahlî a tâco sak e lahoi, tuipui a dengnae koehoi talaivan adu ungnae hah koung a kamnue sak.
And seen are the streams of the sea, Revealed are foundations of the world, By the rebuke of Jehovah, From the breath of the spirit of His anger.
17 A rasangnae hmuen koehoi a kut a kâyap teh, tui moikapap thung hoi na rasa.
He sendeth from above — He taketh me, He draweth me out of many waters.
18 A thakasaipoung e taran kut thung hoi na rungngang. Ahnimouh ni kai na hmuhma awh teh, kai hlak a thasai awh.
He delivereth me from my strong enemy, From those hating me, For they were stronger than I.
19 A rucatnae koe ka phanae tueng dawk, na ngang awh nakunghai, BAWIPA teh kaie kânguenae lah ao.
They are before me in a day of my calamity, And Jehovah is my support,
20 Kai hah kalenpounge hmuen koe na ceikhai awh teh, kai dawk a lunghawi dawkvah, na hlout sak.
And He bringeth me out to a large place, He draweth me out for He delighted in me.
21 BAWIPA ni ka lannae patetlah na tawkphu na poe teh, ka kut a thoung e patetlah na patho.
Jehovah recompenseth me, According to my righteousness, According to the cleanness of my hands, He doth return to me.
22 Bangkongtetpawiteh, BAWIPA e a lamthung hah pou ka dawn teh, kaie Cathut koehoi yon hoi kahmat boihoeh.
For I have kept the ways of Jehovah, And have not done wickedly against my God.
23 A lawkcengnae pueng hah ka hmaitung vah ao. A phunglam ka cettakhai boihoeh.
For all His judgments [are] before me, As to His statutes, I turn not from them.
24 A hmaitung hai toun hane kawi lah kaawm hoeh. Ka payonpakainae dawk hoi na hlout sak.
And I am perfect before Him, And I keep myself from mine iniquity.
25 Hatdawkvah, ka lannae patetlah na pathung. A mithmu vah kathounge patetlah na patho.
And Jehovah returneth to me, According to my righteousness, According to my cleanness before His eyes.
26 Pahrennae ka tawn e koe pahrennae ka tawn e patetlah na kamnue teh, tamikalan koe tamikalan lah na kamnue van han.
With the kind Thou shewest Thyself kind, With the perfect man Thou shewest Thyself perfect,
27 Tamikathoung koe, kathounge lah na kamnue vaiteh, tami lungkapataknaw koe a lungpatanae lahoi na kamnue van han.
With the pure Thou shewest Thyself pure, And with the perverse Thou shewest Thyself a wrestler.
28 Kârahnoum e tami hah na rungngang teh, kâoupnaw na pabo hanelah pou na khet.
And the poor people Thou dost save, And Thine eyes on the high causest to fall.
29 Oe BAWIPA, nang teh kaie hmaiim lah na o. BAWIPA ni kaie hmonae a ang sak han.
For Thou [art] my lamp, O Jehovah, And Jehovah doth lighten my darkness.
30 Kai ni nang na kângue e lahoi ransahu ka tâ teh, rapan hai ka yawngtapue thai.
For by Thee I run — a troop, By my God I leap a wall.
31 Cathut e a lamthung teh a kuep. Yuemkamcu lawk teh tanouk lah ao. Kâuepnaw pueng hanelah bahling lah ao.
God! Perfect [is] His way, The saying of Jehovah is tried, A shield He [is] to all those trusting in Him.
32 BAWIPA hoeh e laipalah Cathut alouke ao maw. Cathut laipalah, lungsong alouke ao maw.
For who is God save Jehovah? And who a Rock save our God?
33 Cathut teh ka thaonae hoi ka kângue e lah ao, ka lamthung a hmacawn sak.
God — my bulwark, [my] strength, And He maketh perfect my way;
34 Ka khok heh sayuk e a khok patetlah a hue a rang sak teh, a hmuen karasang e koe na o sak.
Making my feet like hinds, And on my high places causeth me to stand,
35 Ka kut teh tarantuk nahan a cangkhai. Hottelah rahum licung hai ka sawn thai.
Teaching my hands for battle, And brought down was a bow of brass by mine arms,
36 Nama ni rungngangnae saiphei hah na poe teh, a lungsawnae lahoi kai teh na tawm rasang e lah ka o.
And Thou givest to me the shield of Thy salvation, And Thy lowliness maketh me great.
37 Kai ni ka cei nahane lamthung na pacei teh, ka khoknaw hai thawn hoeh.
Thou enlargest my step under me, And mine ankles have not slidden.
38 Ka tarannaw ka pha teh ka thei, koung ka thei hoehroukrak kai ni ka ban hoeh.
I pursue mine enemies and destroy them, And I turn not till they are consumed.
39 Kaie ka khok rahim a rawp awh teh, a thaw thai awh hoeh nahanelah, katinkaawi teh ka thei.
And I consume them, and smite them, And they rise not, and fall under my feet.
40 Bangkongtetpawiteh, tarantuk sak hanelah, nang ni thaonae hoi na pathoup teh, kai na katuknaw hah kaie rahim na sung sak.
And Thou girdest me [with] strength for battle, Thou causest my withstanders to bow under me.
41 Kai na ka hmuhma e a lahuennaw hah kai koe na poe teh, nama ni kai na katuknaw hah hnuklah na kamlang sak.
And mine enemies — Thou givest to me the neck, Those hating me — and I cut them off.
42 A hram awh ei, ka rungngang hane tami awmhoeh. BAWIPA teh a khet awh ei, pato awh hoeh.
They look, and there is no saviour; Unto Jehovah, and He hath not answered them.
43 Hatnavah, kai ni ahnimanaw hah vaiphu patetlah reppasei lah ka phawm teh, lam dawk songnawng patetlah ka coungroe awh teh, kaheikalai awh.
And I beat them as dust of the earth, As mire of the streets I beat them small — I spread them out!
44 Nang ni ka taminaw hoi hawihoehnae dawk hoi na rungngang teh, Jentelnaw e kaukkung lah na o sak nahanelah, na ring e ka panuek boihoeh e naw ni, kaimae thaw a tawk awh han.
And — Thou dost deliver me From the strivings of my people, Thou placest me for a head of nations; A people I have not known do serve me.
45 Jentelnaw hah kai koe a kâpoe awh vaiteh, a thai awh tahma ka lawk a ngai awh han.
Sons of a stranger feign obedience to me, At the hearing of the ear they hearken to me.
46 Jentelnaw a tâco awh han.
Sons of a stranger fade away, And gird themselves by their close places.
47 BAWIPA teh yungyoe a hring. Kaie lungsong, pholennae lah awm seh. Kaie rungngangnae lungsong Cathut teh, tawmrasang e lah awm naseh.
Jehovah liveth, and blessed [is] my Rock, And exalted is my God — The Rock of my salvation.
48 Kai koe lah moi ka pathung pouh e hoi miphun pueng kaie rahim ka pabawt e teh katâkung Cathut doeh.
God — who is giving vengeance to me, And bringing down peoples under me,
49 Tarannaw e kut dawk hoi, na hlout sak. Kai na ka taran naw e a lathueng vah, na tawm teh, ka mathoutmakainaw e kut dawk hoi na hlout sak.
And bringing me forth from mine enemies, Yea, above my withstanders Thou raisest me up. From a man of violence Thou deliverest me.
50 Hatdawkvah, Oe BAWIPA, kai teh Jentelnaw koevah, lunghawinae lawk ka dei vaiteh, na min pholennae la ka sak han.
Therefore I confess Thee, O Jehovah, among nations. And to Thy name I sing praise.
51 Cathut teh a siangpahrang hanelah, rungngangnae imrasang lah ao teh, satui a awi e Devit hoi a canaw koe lathueng vah yungyoe hoi yungyoe totouh, pahren lungmanae a kamnue sak.
Magnifying the salvations of His king, And doing loving-kindness to His anointed, To David, and to his seed — unto the age!'
