Now there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves.
2 Tami moikapap nihai, ahnimae hnopai lungradueknae hnukkâbang awh vaiteh, lawkkatang lamthung teh ahnimouh kecu dudam e lah kaawm han.
Many will follow in their depravity, and because of them the way of truth will be defamed.
3 Ahnimouh ni hounlounnae, pasawtpanepnae lawk hoi nangmouh na yo awh han. Ahnimouh lawkcengnae teh ayan hoi hnawng hoeh. Ahnimae kamkonae haiyah ngâm boihoeh.
In their greed, these false teachers will exploit you with deceptive words. The longstanding verdict against them remains in force, and their destruction does not sleep.
4 Bangkongtetpawiteh, Cathut ni ka payon e kalvantami hah pasainae tawn hoeh. Hell hmai adungpoungnae koe hmonae sumbawtarui hoi a katek teh lawkceng hanelah a hruek toe. (Tartaroō g5020)
For if God did not spare the angels when they sinned, but cast them deep into hell, placing them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment; (Tartaroō g5020)
5 Ayan e talaivan hai pasai laipalah, lannae phung ka dei e Noah hoi tami sari touh e naw hah a hlout sak teh cathutlaipa e talai taminaw pueng teh tuikamuem hoi koung a raphoe.
if He did not spare the ancient world when He brought the flood on its ungodly people, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, among the eight;
6 Hothloilah Sawdom hoi Gomorrah khopui hah lawk a ceng teh hrabalah mueng a yawng sak teh, cathutlaipa e taminaw ni khetsin hanelah sut ao.
if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction, reducing them to ashes as an example of what is coming on the ungodly;
7 Hatnavah, kâcakuepnae kaawm hoeh e taminaw e hounlounnae lahoi khosaknae ni rektap lah kaawm e tamikalan Lot hah a rungngang.
and if He rescued Lot, a righteous man distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless
8 Hote tamikalan teh, ahnimouh koe kho a sak navah, ahnimae kâlawklaipa hringnae hoi tawksaknae hnintangkuem a hmu teh a thainae ni a lannae lungthin hah puenghoi a rektap pouh.
(for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)—
9 Hatdawkvah, cathutlae taminaw hah tacueknae dawk hoi rasa hanelah thoseh, tamikalan hoeh e naw lawkcengnae hnin dawk reknae khang sak hanelah hruek hane hai thoseh a panue e lah ao.
if all this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.
10 Alawkpui lah ka khin e hounlounnae lahoi takngainae hnukkâbang teh, kâtawnnae kadudamnaw hah hottelah a hruek han.
Such punishment is specially reserved for those who indulge the corrupt desires of the flesh and despise authority. Bold and self-willed, they are unafraid to slander glorious beings.
11 Ahnimouh hlak thao thasainae hoi bahu kaawm e kalvantami ni patenghai yah, Cathut hmalah lawkcengnae sak awh hoeh.
Yet not even angels, though greater in strength and power, dare to bring such slanderous charges against them before the Lord.
12 Hatei, ahnimanaw hah man vaiteh, be thei hane moithangnaw patetlah ao awh teh amamouh ni a thai panuek hoeh e hah a dudam awh. Ahnimouh teh moithangnaw kahmakata e patetlah a kahmakata awh vaiteh, amamae lanhoehnae phu teh a khang awh han.
These men are like irrational animals, creatures of instinct, born to be captured and destroyed. They blaspheme in matters they do not understand, and like such creatures, they too will be destroyed.
13 Khodai patenghai yah canei hounloun e heh nawmnae lah a pouk awh teh, nangmouh hoi rei canei awh navah amamae dumyennae dawk a nawm awh teh nangmouh hanlah min mathoenae lah ao awh.
The harm they will suffer is the wages of their wickedness. They consider it a pleasure to carouse in broad daylight. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their deception as they feast with you.
14 Ahnimae mit teh uicuk ngainae hoi akawi dawkvah yon sak laipalah awm ngai awh hoeh. A lung kacakhoehe taminaw hah yonnae koe lah a tacuek awh teh, hounlounnae dawk a phunep awh toung dawkvah, thoebo e canu capa lah ao awh.
Their eyes are full of adultery; their desire for sin is never satisfied; they seduce the unstable. They are accursed children with hearts trained in greed.
15 Ahnimouh teh, lam kalan hah a pahnawt awh teh, lam a payon awh toung dawkvah, lanhoehnae kutphu lungpataw e Beor capa Balaam e lamthung a dawn awh.
They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Beor, who loved the wages of wickedness.
16 Hatei, Balaam teh amae a payonnae dawk yue e lah ao. Lawk ka dei thai hoeh e la ni tami lawk lahoi a dei teh hote profet e pathunae hah a ngang.
But he was rebuked for his transgression by a donkey, otherwise without speech, that spoke with a man’s voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.
17 Ahnimanaw teh tui kahak e tuikhu, kahlî ni a palek e tâmai patetlah doeh ao awh. Ahnimouh hanelah yungyoe hmonae a hruek pouh toe. (questioned)
These men are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them.
18 Bangkongtetpawiteh, ahnimouh ni lawk pacawt lahoi a kâoup awh teh, tami kahawihoehnaw thung hringnae koehoi nuengnueng kahlout e naw hah takngainae, hounlounnae hoi a dumyen awh.
With lofty but empty words, they appeal to the sensual passions of the flesh and entice those who are just escaping from others who live in error.
19 Ahnimouh ni hote taminaw hah hloutnae na poe awh han atipouh awh nahlangva vah, amamouh rawknae san lah ao awh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, tami katâ e teh tami e bawi lah ao.
They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves to depravity. For a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.
20 Maimae Bawipa hoi rungngangkung Jisuh Khrih panuenae lahoi talaivan khinnae dawk hoi hlout awh hnukkhu, hote hnonaw dawk bout kâman awh pawiteh, ahmaloe e hlak a hnukkhu e hoe a mathoe.
If indeed they have escaped the corruption of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, only to be entangled and overcome by it again, their final condition is worse than it was at first.
21 Bangkongtetpawiteh, lannae lamthung panue nahlangva, maimouh koe na poe e kathounge kâpoelawk hah hnamthun takhai hlak teh hote hah panuek laipalah awm pawiteh ahnimouh hanlah bet ahawihnawn.
It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than to have known it and then to turn away from the holy commandment passed on to them.
22 Ui ni a palo bout a ca, tui pâhluk tangcoung e vok ni tangkan bout a kâkaawk tie cingthuilawk hah hot patet e taminaw koe akuep.
Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,” and, “A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud.”
