1 Jerusalem kho ka sak e taminaw ni, Jehoram capa cahnoung e Ahaziah teh, a na pa e yueng lah siangpahrang a tawk sak awh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, a hmaunaw pueng teh Arabianaw hoi ka tho e ransanaw teh, rim thung a kâen awh teh, a capa kacuenaw koung a thei awh dawk doeh.
Then the inhabitants of Jerusalem appointed his youngest son, Ahaziah, as king in his place. For the robbers of the Arabians, who had fallen upon the camp, had put to death all those who were greater by birth before him. And so Ahaziah, the son of Jehoram, reigned as king of Judah.
2 Ahaziah teh kum 42 touh a pha navah, bawi thaw a kamtawng teh Jerusalem vah kum touh a bawi. A manu e min teh Athaliah, Omri e canu doeh.
Ahaziah was forty-two years old when he had begun to reign, and he reigned for one year in Jerusalem. And the name of his mother was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri.
3 A manu ni thoenae sak hanelah pouknae a poe dawkvah, ahni hai Ahab imthung ni a dawn e lamthung dawk a dawn vah.
But he too went forth in the ways of the house of Ahab. For his mother impelled him to act impiously.
4 Ahab imthung patetlah BAWIPA mithmu vah thoenae a sak. A na pa a due hnukkhu, ahnimanaw teh thoenae sak hanelah pouknae kapoekung lah ao awh.
And so he did evil in the sight of the Lord, just as the house of Ahab did. For after the death of his father, they were counselors to him, to his destruction.
5 Ahnimouh ni pouknae a poe e a tarawi dawkvah, Gilead ram Ramoth khovah, Siria siangpahrang Hazael tuk hanelah Isarel siangpahrang Ahab capa Jehoram koe a cei awh teh, Sirianaw ni Joram teh a hmâ a paca awh.
And he walked in their counsels. And he went with Joram, the son of Ahab, the king of Israel, to war against Hazael, the king of Syria, at Ramoth Gilead. And the Syrians wounded Joram.
6 Siria siangpahrang a tuknae koe Ramah kho a hmâ a ca e dam sak hanelah, Jezreel kho lah a cei. Hottelah Judah siangpahrang Jehoram capa Azariah teh Ahab capa Jehoram a patoun dawkvah, hloe hanelah Jezreel kholah a cei.
And he returned, so that he might be cured at Jezreel. For he had received many wounds in the above-stated battle. And so Ahaziah, the son of Jehoram, the king of Judah, descended, so that he might visit Joram, the son of Ahab, at Jezreel, while he was ill.
7 Jehoram koevah, Ahaziah a cei teh, a duenae teh Cathut ni a pouk tangcoung e doeh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, a pha navah Ahab imthung koung pâmit hanelah Cathut ni satui a awi e Nimshi capa Jehu tuk hanelah Jehoram koe a cei.
Indeed, it was the will of God against Ahaziah that he would go to Joram, and when he had gone, that he also would go out with him against Jehu, the son of Nimshi, whom the Lord had anointed to destroy the house of Ahab.
8 Hahoi hettelah doeh. Ahab imthung raphoe hanelah, a tuk lahun nah, Judah kahrawikungnaw hoi Ahiziah e a hmau e capanaw ni Ahaziah thaw a tawk lahun nah a hmu teh a thei awh.
Therefore, when Jehu was overthrowing the house of Ahab, he found the leaders of Judah, with the sons of the brothers of Ahaziah, who were ministering to him, and he put them to death.
9 Samaria vah ka kâhrawk e Ahiziah a tawng awh teh, a man awh torei Jehu koe a thokhai hnukkhu a thei awh teh a pakawp awh. Hahoi ahni teh lungthin abuemlah hoi BAWIPA ouk ka tawng e Jehoshaphat e capa doeh ati awh. Hat toteh, Ahaziah imthung ni a uknaeram dawk kâ tawn thai hoeh toe.
Also, while he himself was seeking Ahaziah, he found him to be hiding in Samaria. And having been led to him, he killed him. And they buried him, because he was the son of Jehoshaphat, who had sought the Lord with all his heart. But there was no longer any hope that someone from the stock of Ahaziah would reign.
10 Ahaziah manu Athaliah ni a capa a due e a thai torei teh, a thaw teh Judah siangpahrang imthungnaw pueng koung a thei.
For indeed, his mother, Athaliah, seeing that her son had died, rose up and killed the entire royal stock of the house of Jehoram.
11 Hatei, Ahaziah capa Joash teh siangpahrang canu Jehoshabeath ni siangpahrang e a canaw a thei e thung hoi a yawngkhai teh, kakhoumkung napui hoi irakhan thung a hro. Siangpahrang Jehoram e canu Jehoshabeath ni a hro dawkvah, Athaliah ni thet thai hoeh.
But Jehosheba, the daughter of the king, took Joash, the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from the midst the king’s sons when they were being slain. And she hid him with his nurse in a bedroom. Now Jehosheba, the one who had hidden him, was the daughter of king Jehoram, and the wife of the high priest Jehoiada, and the sister of Ahaziah. And because of this, Athaliah did not kill him.
12 Athaliah ni ram a uk navah kum 6 touh thung Cathut e im dawk ama koe hro lah ao.
Therefore, he was with them, hidden in the house of God, for six years, while Athaliah reigned over the land.
