1 Asa capa Jehoshaphat ni a na pa yueng siangpahrang a tawk teh, Isarel tuk hanelah tha a sai sak.
And his son Jehoshaphat reigns in his stead, and he strengthens himself against Israel,
2 Judah ram dawk rapan ka tawn e kho pueng koe ransanaw a hruek. Judah ram hoi a na pa Asa ni a la e Ephraim ram dawk e khonaw dawk ramvengnaw a hruek.
and puts a force in all the fortified cities of Judah, and puts garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim that his father Asa had captured.
3 Jehoshaphat koe BAWIPA ao, bangkongtetpawiteh, a na pa Devit ni a dawn e lamthung a dawn teh Baal cathut tawng hoeh.
And YHWH is with Jehoshaphat, for he has walked in the first ways of his father David, and has not sought for the Ba‘alim,
4 A na pa e Cathut dueng a tawng teh, Isarel lamthung a roun teh kâpoelawk a tarawi.
for he has sought for the God of his father, and he has walked in His commands, and not according to the work of Israel.
5 Hatdawkvah, BAWIPA ni ahnie kut dawk uknaeram a caksak teh, Judah ram e tami pueng ni, Jehoshaphat koe tamuk a poe, dawkvah, a tangreng teh a bawilen poung.
And YHWH establishes the kingdom in his hand, and all Judah gives a present to Jehoshaphat, and he has riches and honor in abundance,
6 BAWIPA e lamthung dawk a lunghawi teh, Judah ram dawk e karasang e hmuennaw hoi meikaphawk thingnaw pueng koung a raphoe.
and his heart is high in the ways of YHWH, and again he has turned aside the high places and the Asherim out of Judah.
7 A bawinae kum thum navah, kahrawikung Benhail, Obadiah, Zekhariah, Nethanel hoi Mikhaiah tinaw hah taminaw cangkhai hanelah Judah ram khopuinaw koe a patoun.
And in the third year of his reign he has sent for his heads, for Ben-Hail, and for Obadiah, and for Zechariah, and for Nethaneel, and for Michaiah, to teach in cities of Judah;
8 Levih tami Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Adonijah, Tobiah hoi Tobadinijah taminaw hai a bawk van. Hahoi vaihma Elishama hoi Jehoram hai a bawk roi van.
and with them the Levites: Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijath, and Tob-Adonijah—the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.
9 BAWIPA e kâlawk cauk a sin awh teh, Judah ram dawk a cangkhai awh.
And they teach in Judah, and the Scroll of the Law of YHWH [is] with them, and they go around into all cities of Judah, and teach among the people.
10 Judah tengpam e uknaeram pueng ni hai BAWIPA a taki awh teh, apinihai Jehoshaphat tuk ngam hoeh.
And there is a fear of YHWH on all kingdoms of the lands that [are] around Judah, and they have not fought with Jehoshaphat;
11 Filistin e tami tangawn ni hai Jehoshaphat poehno a poe awh. Tamuk hanelah ngun tangka a poe awh. Arabianaw ni hai tu 7700, hmae 7700 touh a poe awh.
and [some] from the Philistines are bringing a present to Jehoshaphat, and silver [as] tribute; also, the Arabians are bringing to him a flock of seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred male goats.
12 Jehoshaphat teh a tha hoehoe a sai teh Judah ram dawk ramveng im hoi hnopai hruek nahane a sak.
And Jehoshaphat is going on and becoming very great, and he builds palaces and cities of store in Judah,
13 Judah khopuinaw dawk thaw moi a tawn teh, Jerusalem vah tarankahawi ni teh athakaawme taminaw moikapap a tawn.
and he has much work in cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty men of valor, [are] in Jerusalem.
14 Hetnaw teh a napanaw imthung lahoi touk e doeh. Judah thung hoi ransabawi 1,000 touh, Adnah hoi a kut rahim kaawm e tarankahawi ni teh athakaawme tami 300,000,
And these [are] their numbers, for the house of their fathers—of Judah, heads of thousands: Adnah the head, and with him three hundred thousand mighty men of valor;
15 Apâhni lah Jehoshaphat ni 280,000 a uk.
and at his hand [is] Jehohanan the head, and with him two hundred and eighty thousand;
16 A pâthum lah Zekhariah capa Amasiah teh a ma lungtho lahoi BAWIPA koe a kâpasoung teh, tarankahawi ni teh athakaawme 200,000 touh a uk.
and at his hand [is] Amasiah son of Zichri, who is willingly offering himself to YHWH, and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valor.
17 Benjamin imthung dawk e a thakasai, tarankahawi e, sene hoi bahling ka patuem e tami 200000 touh Eliada ni a uk.
And of Benjamin, mighty men of valor: Eliada, and with him two hundred thousand armed with bow and shield;
18 A hnukkhu Jehozabad ni tarankahawi ni teh athakaawme 180000 touh a uk.
and at his hand [is] Jehozabad, and with him one hundred and eighty thousand armed ones of the host.
19 Hetnaw pueng teh siangpahrang e thaw katawkkungnaw doeh. Hetnaw hloilah Judah ram rapan ka tawn e kho tangkuem koe siangpahrang ni a hruek e ao rah.
These [are] those serving the king, apart from those whom the king put in the fortress cities in all of Judah.
