< 2 Setouknae 12 >
1 Rehoboam uknaeram a cak teh ama roeroe a tha a sai torei teh, ahni koe kambawng e Isarelnaw abuemlahoi BAWIPA e kâlawk a pahnawt awh.
And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of Yhwh, and all Israel with him.
2 Rehoboam siangpahrang a tawknae kum 5 navah, Izip siangpahrang Shishak ni Jerusalem tuk hanelah a luen takhang. Bangkongtetpawiteh, BAWIPA a taran awh teh, kâ a tapoe awh.
And it came to pass, that in the fifth year of king Rehoboam Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against Yhwh,
3 Izip lahoi kathonaw teh, rangleng 12,000, marangransanaw 6,000, hahoi touklek thai hoeh e taminaw, Lubimnaw, Sukkiimnaw hoi Ethiopia taminaw doeh.
With twelve hundred chariots, and threescore thousand horsemen: and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubims, the Sukkiims, and the Ethiopians.
4 Judah ram dawk e rapan ka tawn e khonaw a la awh teh, Jerusalem kho dawk a pha awh.
And he took the fenced cities which pertained to Judah, and came to Jerusalem.
5 Rehoboam hoi Judah kahrawikungnaw, Shishak taki kecu dawk Jerusalem kamkhuengnaw koe profet Shemaiah a tho teh, ahnimouh koevah, BAWIPA ni telah a dei, kai na pahnawt awh dawkvah kai ni Shishak kut dawk na hnawng van awh, telah atipouh.
Then came Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus saith Yhwh, Ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.
6 Hat torei teh, Isarel kahrawikungnaw hoi siangpahrang rahim lah a kârahnoum awh teh, BAWIPA teh a lan, telah ati awh.
Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, Yhwh is righteous.
7 BAWIPA ni a kârahnoum awh e a hmu torei teh, BAWIPA e lawk Shemaiah koe bout ka tho e teh, a kârahnoum awh dawkvah, ka raphoe mahoeh. Hatei, a tangawn teh ka rungngang vaiteh, Shishak kut dawk e ka lungkhueknae teh Jerusalem lathueng ka rabawk mahoeh.
And when Yhwh saw that they humbled themselves, the word of Yhwh came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.
8 Hatei, ka thawtawknae hoi miphun alouke uknaeram koe thawtawknae a panue vaiteh, kapek thai nahanelah ahnimouh koe san a toung awh han.
Nevertheless they shall be his servants; that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.
So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the house of Yhwh, and the treasures of the king’s house; he took all: he carried away also the shields of gold which Solomon had made.
10 Siangpahrang Rehoboam ni a yueng lah rahum bahling lah a sak teh siangpahrang im takhang karingkungnaw hoi ransanaw koe a ring sak awh.
Instead of which king Rehoboam made shields of brass, and committed them to the hands of the chief of the guard, that kept the entrance of the king’s house.
11 Siangpahrang teh BAWIPA e im dawk a kâen tangkuem karingkungnaw ni a sin awh teh, hathnukkhu ama onae koe bout a hruek awh.
And when the king entered into the house of Yhwh, the guard came and fetched them, and brought them again into the guard chamber.
12 Hottelah a kârahnoum torei teh, koung raphoe hoeh hanelah BAWIPA ni a lungkhueknae bout a roum sak teh, Judah ram teh kanawmcalah kho bout a sak awh.
And when he humbled himself, the wrath of Yhwh turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah things went well.
13 Hahoi siangpahrang Rehoboam teh Jerusalem lah a cei teh bout a uk. Rehoboam siangpahrang a tawknae teh kum 41 touh a pha teh, BAWIPA ni a min o thai nahanelah Isarel ram thung dawk a rawi e Jerusalem kho dawk kum 17 touh a uk. A manu e min teh Ammon tami Naamah doeh.
So king Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem, and reigned: for Rehoboam was one and forty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which Yhwh had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother’s name was Naamah an Ammonitess.
14 BAWIPA tawngngainae lungthin a tawn hoeh dawkvah, kathout hno a sak.
And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek Yhwh.
15 Rehoboam thawtawknae a kamtawng hoi apout totouh e teh profet Shemaiah e cauk hoi profet Iddo ni thut e setouknae cauk dawk thut lah awm hoeh na maw. Rehoboam hoi Jeroboam teh a hring nathung pou a kâtuk roi.
Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the book of Shemaiah the prophet, and of Iddo the seer concerning genealogies? And there were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.
16 Hahoi, Rehoboam teh mintoenaw koe a i teh Devit khopui dawk a pakawp awh. Ahnie yueng lah a capa Abijah ni siangpahrang let a tawk.
And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David: and Abijah his son reigned in his stead.
