1 Hmaunawnghanaw hninthanaw hoi tuengnaw hah thut vaiteh na patawn hanelah panki hoeh toe.
But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that ye should be written to,
2 Bangkongtetpawiteh, tamru teh karum vah a tho e patetlah Bawipa e hnin teh a tho van han tie hah nangmouh ni kamcengcalah na panue awh.
for ye know perfectly well yourselves, that the day of [the] Lord so comes as a thief by night.
3 Lungmawngnae ao, rucatnae ka hlout toe ati awh lahun nah camo ka vawn e napui ni camo a khe nah patawnae a khang e patetlah pouk laipalah rawknae phat vaiteh, khoeroe hlout awh mahoeh.
When they may say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon her that is with child; and they shall in no wise escape.
4 Hatei hmaunawnghanaw hote hnin teh tamru patetlah nangmouh koe a tho nahanlah nangmouh teh khohmo thung na awm awh hoeh.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you as a thief:
5 Nangmouh pueng teh angnae hoi khodai e ca lah na o awh. Khohmo ca lah na awm awh hoeh.
for all ye are sons of light and sons of day; we are not of night nor of darkness.
6 Hatdawkvah alouknaw ni a i awh e patetlah maimouh teh ip laipalah, kâhruetcuet laihoi ring awh sei.
So then do not let us sleep as the rest do, but let us watch and be sober;
7 Bangkongtetpawiteh ka ip e naw teh khohmo vah a i awh, kaparuinaw hai tangmin vah a parui awh.
for they that sleep sleep by night, and they that drink drink by night;
8 Khodai ca lah kaawm e maimouh teh kâhruetcuet awh sei. Yuemnae hoi lungpatawnae lah kaawm e saiphei, rungngangnae ngaihawinae sum luhuem kâmahrawk awh sei.
but we being of [the] day, let us be sober, putting on [the] breastplate of faith and love, and as helmet [the] hope of salvation;
9 A lungkhueknae khang sak hanelah Cathut ni maimouh na rawi e nahoeh, Bawipa Jisuh Khrih lahoi rungngangnae coe sak hanelah doeh na rawi awh.
because God has not set us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Maimouh teh kâhlaw awh nakunghai, i awh nakunghai Bawipa hoi cungtalah hring awh nahanelah, maimouh hanelah a due toe.
who has died for us, that whether we may be watching or sleep, we may live together with him.
11 Hatdawkvah, nangmouh ni atu hai na sak awh e patetlah buet touh hoi buet touh thakâpoe laihoi kâtawmdawm awh sei.
Wherefore encourage one another, and build up each one the other, even as also ye do.
12 Hothloilah, nangmouh thung dawk vah, a thaw ka tawk e, Bawipa kâ lahoi ka uk e, hroecoe ka poe e tami hah panuek awh nateh,
But we beg you, brethren, to know those who labour among you, and take the lead among you in [the] Lord, and admonish you,
13 ahnimouh ni a tawk awh e dawkvah lungpatawnae hoi na barilawa awh nahan, buet touh hoi buet touh kâpocalah awm awh.
and to regard them exceedingly in love on account of their work. Be in peace among yourselves.
14 Hmaunawnghanaw, kamsoumhoehlah kaawm e naw hah kâhruetcuetnae poe awh. A lung kathoengnaw thapoe awh. A thakayounnaw ka bawm awh. Tami pueng koe na lungsaw sak awh.
But we exhort you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, comfort the faint-hearted, sustain the weak, be patient towards all.
15 Buet touh hoi buet touh yon kâpathung hoeh nahan kâhruetcuet awh nateh, namamouh koehai thoseh, ayânaw koehai thoseh, panki laihoi hnokahawi pou sak awh.
See that no one render to any evil for evil, but pursue always what is good towards one another and towards all;
16 Pout laipalah konawm awh.
rejoice always;
17 Pout laipalah ratoum awh.
pray unceasingly;
18 Bangpueng dawk lunghawilawk dei awh. Bangkongtetpawiteh Khrih Jisuh thung nangmouh ni hottelah na sak awh nahanelah Cathut ni na ngaikhai awh.
in everything give thanks, for this is [the] will of God in Christ Jesus towards you;
19 Kathoung Muitha e a hue roum sak awh hanh.
quench not the Spirit;
20 Profet lawk hah noutna laipalah awm hanh.
do not lightly esteem prophecies;
21 Hno puengpa hah tanouk awh nateh hnokahawi e teh kacaklah kuen awh.
but prove all things, hold fast the right;
22 Kahawi hoeh e kaawm e pueng hah roun awh.
hold aloof from every form of wickedness.
23 Roumnae Cathut ama ni nangmouh abuemlah pin na thoungsak lawiseh. Maimae Bawipa Jisuh Khrih a tho toteh, nangmae tak, lungthin, muitha abuemlah tounhoehe lah na o awh nahan na kabawm lawiseh.
Now the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly: and your whole spirit, and soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Nangmouh na kakawkung teh yuemkamcu lah ao dawkvah hottelah a sak han doeh.
He [is] faithful who calls you, who will also perform [it].
25 Hmaunawnghanaw kaimouh han lah na ratoum pouh awh.
Brethren, pray for us.
26 hmaunawnghanaw pueng hah kathounge kâpaconae lahoi kâdawn awh.
Greet all the brethren with a holy kiss.
27 Hete ca heh hmaunawngha tami kathoungnaw abuemlah koe na touk pouh awh nahanelah Bawipa Min lahoi lawk na thui awh.
I adjure you by the Lord that the letter be read to all the [holy] brethren.
28 Maimae Bawipa Jisuh Khrih e a lungmanae teh nangmouh pueng koe awm lawiseh. Amen.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you.
