1 Samuel 12
1 Samuel ni Isarelnaw pueng koe, khenhaw! kai koe na dei awh e pueng hah ka tarawi teh nangmouh siangpahrang na poe awh.
And Samuel said unto all Israel, Lo! I have hearkened unto your voice, in all that ye said to me, —and have set over you a king.
2 Atu khenhaw! siangpahrang ni na hrawi awh toe. Kai hateh kamatong toe. Ka sam hai a po toe. Khenhaw! ka capanaw teh nangmouh koe ao awh teh, a nawca hoi sahnin totouh na hrawi awh toe.
Now, therefore, lo! the king going to and fro before you, But, I, am old and grey-headed, and, my sons, lo! they are with you, —But, I, have gone to and fro before you from my youth until this day.
3 Hivah ka o, BAWIPA hmalah hoi satui a awi e hmalah ka o. Dei awh haw. Apie maito maw ouk ka lawp. Apie la maw ouk ka lawp. Apimaw ouk ka hmuhma. Apimaw ouk ka pacekpahlek. Ka mit dawn sak hanlah api kut dawk e tadawngnae maw ouk ka ca. Koung na patho awh han telah atipouh.
Behold me! testify against me, before Yahweh, and before his Anointed—Whose, ox, have I taken? or whose, ass, have I taken? or whom have I oppressed? Whom have I crushed? or at whose, hands, have I taken a bribe, to cover up mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it unto you.

And they said, Thou hast not oppressed us, neither hast thou crushed us, —neither hast thou taken, at the hand of any man, any thing.
5 Samuel ni hai kaie kut dawk buetbuet touh hai nangmouh ni na hmu awh hoeh e hah BAWIPA teh nangmouh koe lah kapanuekkhaikung lah ao. Satui awi lah kaawm e hai kapanuekkhaikung lah ao telah ati. Ahnimouh ni hai ahni teh kapanuekkhaikung lah ao telah ati awh.
And he said unto them—Witness, is Yahweh against you, and, witness, is his Anointed, this day, that ye have not found in my hand, any thing! And they said: Witness!
6 Samuel ni taminaw koe, Mosi hoi Aron thaw ka poe niteh, Izip ram hoi na mintoenaw ka tâcawtkhai e hai BAWIPA doeh.
And Samuel said unto the people: Witness, is Yahweh, who wrought with Moses and with Aaron, and who brought up your fathers out of the land of Egypt.
7 Hatdawkvah, na mintoenaw koe hno kalan a saknae hah BAWIPA e hmalah pouk pouh thai nahanlah, atu sairasuepcalah kangdout awh.
Now, therefore, take your stand and let me plead with you, before Yahweh, —and tell you all the righteous acts of Yahweh, which he wrought with you, and with your fathers:
8 Jakop ni Izip ram a pha hnukkhu nangmae mintoenaw ni BAWIPA koe a hram awh navah, Mosi hoi Aron hah Cathut ni a patoun teh, ahnimouh ni nangmae mintoenaw hah Izip ram hoi a tâcokhai hnukkhu, ahnimanaw teh hete ram dawk ao sak awh.
How that, when Jacob had come into Egypt, —and your fathers had made outcry unto Yahweh, then Yahweh sent Moses and Aaron, and they brought forth your fathers out of Egypt, and he caused them to dwell in this place;
9 BAWIPA Cathut hah a pahnim awh navah Hazar ransabawi Sisera kut dawk thoseh, Filistinnaw e kut dawk thoseh, Moab siangpahrang kut dawk thoseh, a yo teh ahnimanaw ni, ahnimanaw ni ahnimouh a tuk awh.
And, when they forgat Yahweh their God, he sold them into the hand of Sisera, prince of the host of Jabin, king of Hazor, and into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab, and they fought against them;
10 BAWIPA koevah a hram awh teh, BAWIPA a pahnawt awh. Baal hoi Ashtaroth e thaw tawk awh kecu dawkvah, yon awh toe. Hatei sahnin tarannaw e kut dawk hoi na rungngang nateh na thaw ka tawk awh han telah a ti.
But, when they made outcry unto Yahweh and said—We have sinned, in that we have forsaken Yahweh, and have served the Baals and the Ashtoreths, —now, therefore, deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, that we may serve thee,
11 BAWIPA ni Jerubbaal, Bendan, Jephthah, hoi Samuel tinaw a patoun teh, nangmanaw na tengpam e taran kut dawk hoi na rungngang awh teh, nangmanaw runae awm laipalah lungmawng lah na o awh.
then Yahweh sent Jerubbaal and Bedan, and Jephthah, and Samuel, —and delivered you out of the hand of your enemies, on every side, and ye dwelt in safety.
12 Ammon miphunnaw e siangpahrang Nahash ni nangmouh na tuk awh hane hah, nangmouh ni na hmu awh navah nangmae Cathut teh nangmae siangpahrang nahlangva, telah nahoeh. Siangpahrang ni ma kaimouh na uk seh telah na ti awh.
But, when ye saw that, Nahash king of the sons of Ammon, came upon you, then said ye unto me, Nay! but, a king, shall reign over us, when, Yahweh your God, was your king!
13 Atu na hei e nangmouh ni na rawi e siangpahrang khenhaw! khenhaw! BAWIPA ni nangmae lathueng siangpahrang a rawi toe.
Now, therefore, lo! the king whom ye have chosen, for whom ye have asked, —lo! therefore, Yahweh hath set over you a king.
14 Nangmouh ni BAWIPA na taki awh teh, BAWIPA e thaw na tawk awh pawiteh, BAWIPA e lawk na tarawi na ngâi awh pawiteh, nangmouh hoi nangmouh koe lawkcengkung siangpahrang hoi BAWIPA Cathut e hnuk na dawn awh pawiteh ahawi.
If ye will revere Yahweh, and serve him, and hearken unto his voice, and not rebel against the bidding of Yahweh, then shall, both ye and your king that reigneth over you, continue to follow after Yahweh your God.
15 Hatei Cathut e lawk na tarawi awh hoeh lah kâlawk na tapoe awh pawiteh, BAWIPA e a kut teh na mintoenaw e lathueng, runae a pha sak e patetlah nangmouh koehai a pha han.
But, if ye hearken not unto the voice of Yahweh, but rebel against the bidding of Yahweh, then will the hand of Yahweh continue to be against you, and against your fathers.
16 BAWIPA ni nangmae na mithmu hno ka lentoe poung a sak hane hah, duem awm awh nateh khenhaw.
Even now, stand still and see this great thing, —which Yahweh is about to do before your eyes:
17 Sahnin catun anae tueng nahoehmaw. Kho rak sak hane hoi khoparit sak hanelah, kai ni Cathut ka kaw han. Hatnavah, siangpahrang na heinae kong dawk, BAWIPA mithmu vah yonnae kalenpoung na sak awh e na kâpanue awh vaiteh na hmu awh han telah a ti.
Is it not wheat harvest, to-day? I will cry unto Yahweh, that he may give forth thunderings and rain, —know ye then and see, that, your wrong, is great which ye have done in the sight of Yahweh, in asking for yourselves, a king.

So Samuel cried unto Yahweh, and Yahweh gave forth thunderings and rain, on that day, —and all the people greatly feared Yahweh, and Samuel.
19 Tamihunaw ni Samuel koevah, due awh hoeh nahan, BAWIPA na Cathut koe sannaw hanelah na ratoum pouh haw. Hettelah e Siangpahrang ka hei awh e heh, ka payonae kâthap sin e lah ao telah ati awh.
And all the people said unto Samuel—Pray for thy servants, unto Yahweh thy God, and let it not be that we die, —For we have added, to all our sins, a wrong, in asking for ourselves a king.
20 Samuel ni taminaw koevah, taket awh hanh. Kahawi hoeh e heh na sak awh katang doeh. Hatei BAWIPA e hnuk na kabang awh e phen laipalah, BAWIPA e thaw na lungthin katang hoi tawk awh.
Then said Samuel unto the people—Do not fear, ye, have done all this wrong, —nevertheless, do not turn aside from following Yahweh, but serve Yahweh, with all your heart;
21 Banglahai ka cungkeihoehe hnukkâbang e lahoi phen awh hanh. Hawinae na poe mahoeh na rungngang thai mahoeh. Hotnaw teh a yawmyin doeh.
and turn not aside after vanities, that can neither profit nor deliver, because, vanities, they are.
22 Bangkongtetpawiteh, ka lentoe e min kecu dawk BAWIPA ni a taminaw cettakhai mahoeh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, a tami lah coung sak e hah BAWIPA a lunghawinae doeh.
For Yahweh will not give up his people, because of his great name, for Yahweh was minded to make you his people.
23 Kai hateh, nangmouh han ratoumnae kâhatnae lahoi BAWIPA koe ka yonnae hoi kâhlat naseh. Kai ni nangmouh hah kahawi ni teh ka lamkahawi hoi lamkatang na pâtue awh han.
As for me also, far be it from me, that I should sin against Yahweh, by ceasing to pray for you, —but I will direct you, in the good and right way.
24 Nangmouh ni BAWIPA dueng mah taket awh haw, lungthin abuemlahoi yuemkamcu lah amae thaw tawk awh haw. Bangkongtetpawiteh, nangmouh hanelah, a sak e hno kalenpoung hah pouk awh haw.
Only, revere Yahweh, and serve him in truth, with all your heart, —for see, what great things he hath done with you.
25 Nangmouh ni thoenae na sak awh rah pawiteh, nangmouh hoi nangmae siangpahrang khuehoi koung pâmit lah na o awh han telah atipouh.
But, if ye, will do wrong, both ye and your king shall be swept away.
